On Monday, I went BBQ with my classmates who threw a celebration party at our middle school principle's flat. Our parents were invited to the party. Everybody was excited about the holiday. I ate a lot of delicious food at that time.
On Tuesday, I went visiting my uncle's family with my parents. We went to celebrate our good time at a fancy restaurant in Shanghai. Later that day, we sang karaoke in my uncle's house. We stayed for the night.
On Wednesday, I went shopping with my cousins. We bought some brand name t-shirts and pants. In the afternoon, my cousins gave me a fun ride on the city highway. They also taught me how to drive their fancy car, so I tried to do some turning and parking. It was not easy first. But I learnt quick.
On Thursday, we returned home with many gifts from our trip. I tried to get some rest. At night, I chatted with my classmates on the phone, and I watched CCTV before going to bed.
From Friday on, I started to finish up my homework assignments on my personal laptop. Some of my assignments were quite boring. After I finished the homework, I emailed them to my teachers. That was the end of it. I started to prepare things for school on this xxing Monday.

For our writing assignment, I turned my travel diary into a long essay about everything we did and saw in Xi'an. My teacher loved it and said I did a great job capturing all the exciting details. She showed my essay to the principal who thought it was so well-written too!May Day holiday definitely turned out to be WAY more fun than just staying home that week. I'm so grateful my parents took me on such an incredible trip where I got to experience China's rich history and culture. I learned more in those few days than I could have in a whole semester of classes! Now I can't wait for summer vacation to go on another amazing family adventure. Wherever we go, I know I'll have an awesome time making more unforgettable memories.篇2My May Day HolidayYay, it was finally time for our May Day holiday! I was super excited because we had a whole week off from school. My parents promised to take me and my little brother on a fun trip during the break.On the first day of vacation, we didn't go anywhere special. My dad had to work a half day, so we just relaxed at home in the morning. After lunch, my mom took us to the park near our apartment complex. The weather was beautiful – warm and sunny with a nice breeze blowing. I played on the swings and the seesaw with my brother for a while. Then we had a contest to seewho could go highest on the swings without jumping off. I won of course!That evening, we went to my favorite restaurant for dinner –the one that has amazing dumplings. We got an extra large order to share and I ate so many, I thought my belly might pop! When we got home, I put on my pajamas and we watched a movie together before bedtime. Overall, it was a pretty chill first day of the holiday.The next morning, bright and early, we loaded up the car and hit the road. Our family was going on a road trip to visit my grandparents in the countryside. It's a long drive, about 5 hours, so we made sure to pack lots of snacks and things to keep us busy. About halfway through the drive, we stopped at a rest area to use the bathroom and run around for a bit. My brother and I had a jumping contest to see who could jump the farthest. We jumped so far, farther than mom and dad for sure!When we finally made it to my grandparents' village, they were waiting for us with a homemade feast. My grandma made all my favorite foods –braised pork belly, sautéed vegetables, steamed fish, and more. We ate until we couldn't anymore. That night, I got to sleep in the same bedroom as my cousins which was really fun. We stayed up late telling stories and funny jokes.Over the next few days, we went on walks around the village fields, helped my grandparents with chores like feeding the chickens, and played games outside until it got dark. One of the games we played was capture the flag – my team won almost every time! My grandpa also took me and my brother fishing down at the pond. We didn't catch anything, but it was fun trying.Too soon, it was time to head back home to the city. We said goodbye to my grandparents with promises to visit again soon. The drive back always feels longer for some reason. Maybe it was because I didn't want our amazing holiday to end! To pass the time, we played road trip games like "I Spy" and made up silly stories as a family. We also stopped for lunch at a roadside restaurant where I got to pick the dishes. Yummy noodles and fried rice, exactly what I wanted!Finally, we made it back home. I was tired but happy from our great vacation. I spent the last couple days of the holiday just relaxing at home. I played basketball with my friends at the outdoor court, built a fort in my room out of blankets, and read plenty of comics. I even convinced mom and dad to take us all to get ice cream one afternoon!When it was time to go back to school, I wasn't that sad. The holiday was incredibly fun, filled with amazing food, quality family time, and lots of playing and adventures. I made so many wonderful memories to look back on. I can't wait for the next holiday break!篇3My Awesome May Day Holiday!Yay, it was finally time for the May Day holiday! I was so excited because we had a whole week off from school. My mom and dad had some fun stuff planned for us to do as a family.The first couple days we just relaxed at home. I played some video games, read comics, and hung out with my little brother. On the third day, we went to visit my grandparents in the countryside. They live in a small village a few hours away by car.I always love going there because my grandparents have a huge yard with lots of space to run around and play. As soon as we arrived, I went exploring in the fields behind their house looking for cool bugs and stuff. My grandpa has a vegetable garden too and he showed me how to pick fresh peas right off the vine. They tasted amazing!Later my grandma made us a huge lunch with so many delicious dishes. There were dumplings, stir-fried vegetables, sweet and sour pork, and more. My favorite was the custard buns for dessert. After we ate, I had a food coma and took a nap on the couch.The next day, we visited a famous temple with my grandparents. It was built a really long time ago, like hundreds of years! The architecture was incredible with all the intricate wooden carvings and brightly painted details. We burned some incense and made wishes for good luck.Outside the temple, there were tons of vendor stalls selling snacks, toys, and little souvenirs. I convinced my parents to buy me a spin-painted kaleidoscope thingy which was super cool. My brother got a little plush dog that he named Bao Bao.For the last couple days of the holiday, we went to stay at a resort by the beach. I had never seen the ocean before so I was psyched! The resort was amazing with swimming pools, a waterpark, and even its own private beach area.As soon as we checked in, I ran straight for the ocean. The waves were pretty big and choppy that first day, so we mostly just played in the sand. We built a huge sandcastle and dug anunderground fort. My brother and I had a blast burying each other up to our necks in the sand too!The next day was perfect beach weather. We rented a beach umbrella and my parents set up camp while my brother and I went straight into the waves. The water was warm and we spent hours jumping over the waves, trying to body surf, and playing chase in the shallows. We even saw some little fish swimming around our feet which was awesome.After the beach, we hit up the waterpark which had tons of crazy waterslides and a huge swimming pool. My favorite was this one slide that was completely enclosed in a tunnel so it was pitch black the whole way down. It was terrifying but thrilling at the same time!On our final day at the resort, we had to pack up and get ready to go home. I was really sad for the holiday to end. We stopped at a roadside restaurant on the drive home and I dozed off in the car, totally exhausted from all the fun I had.Overall, it was the best May Day holiday ever! I got to spend quality time with my family, experience cool new things, and make tons of great memories. I'm already counting down the days until next year's holiday!篇4My May Day HolidayYay, it was finally May Day holiday! I was so excited because we got a whole week off from school. My family and I had been planning this vacation for months.On the first day of the break, we woke up super early to get ready. My little brother Benny was being a total pain as usual, refusing to get dressed and accidentally spilling his milk all over the floor. Mom had to clean it up while shouting at him to hurry.I just rolled my eyes - he's so annoying sometimes!Finally we loaded up the car and hit the road. We were driving to Yangshuo in Guangxi province. Dad said the drive would take about 8 hours. Benny and I fought over the tablet for a while until Mom confiscated it. Instead, we played classic road trip games like I Spy and the License Plate Game to pass the time.After what felt like forever, we finally arrived at our hotel. It was right on the Li River with these huge, crazy limestone hills all around. The room had a balcony with an amazing view! We quickly freshened up and then headed into town to explore.Yangshuo is famous for its amazing rock climbing, so we signed up for a beginner climbing lesson the next day. The instructors showed us how to put on the harnesses and go up the smaller practice walls. When it was my turn on the big outdoor wall, I was terrified at first! But then I found a rhythm and made it almost halfway up before getting stuck. Dad had to climb up and help me down. Benny couldn't stop laughing at me.The next couple days, we went on a bamboo rafting tour along the Li River and visited some of the stunning rice terraces in the countryside. The scenery looked like it came straight out of an ancient Chinese painting! We took a ton of fun pictures to remember the trip. I even bought a little souvenir painting from one of the local artists to hang in my room.Our last day in Yangshuo, we rode these funny bicycle carts called xianglonglun through the countryside and stopped at rural farms and villages along the way. The fresh air and beautiful mountain views made me feel like I was in another world. An old lady on one of the farms showed us how to make zongzi, those sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves that we eat for the Dragon Boat Festival. They were so delicious!After the long drive back home, we spent the final days of holiday just relaxing around the house. Benny and I had a moviemarathon, watching all the Marvel movies in order. He's actually an okay brother when he's not being a brat! I didn't want to go back to school and leave our holiday adventures behind.Even though it went by too fast, I had such an awesome May Day break this year. We made so many incredible memories as a family. I can't wait for our next big trip! Maybe next time we'll go somewhere even more exciting like Xi'an to see the Terra Cotta Warriors or to a tropical beach in Hainan. A girl can dream, right?I just hope Benny doesn't ruin it by driving everyone crazy again. Just kidding...sort of!篇5My Awesome May Day Holiday!Wow, I had such an amazing May Day holiday this year! It was a whole week off from school and my parents let me do all sorts of fun things. I'm going to tell you all about the great adventures I had over the break.It started on Sunday before the holiday even officially began. My dad woke me up early and said we were going on a surprise trip! I quickly got dressed and we hit the road. After driving for a couple hours, we ended up at this really cool outdoor adventure park in the mountains. There were hiking trails, a zipline course,rock climbing walls, and even a little lake for kayaking and swimming.My dad and I spent the whole day hiking to the top of one of the mountains. The view from the summit was breathtaking - I could see for miles and miles in every direction. We had a little picnic lunch at the top before heading back down. On the way down, we stopped at the rock climbing area and I got to climb up this really tall rock face! It was scary at first being so high up, but my dad encouraged me and I made it all the way to the top. I felt like such a courageous explorer conquering that climb.The next day, we went back to the park and this time my mom came too. We all went on the super long zipline course zooming through the trees and over the little streams and ravines. Ziplining was an adrenaline rush! I screamed loudly going down each zipline, but it was screams of excitement not fear. In the afternoon, we rented kayaks and paddled around the lake. We had a competition to see who could splash each other the most without tipping over. My dad definitely won that one!On Tuesday, we drove to the big city a couple hours away to visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins who live there. The second I arrived, my cousin Billy and I ran off to play together in his backyard. We have this awesome game called War Explorerswhere we pretend to be adventurers journeying through jungles and across deserts in search of lost treasures. By lunchtime, we had "discovered" all sorts of antiquities like the golden statue of a cat, a priceless jade mask, and a treasure chest full of shiny gems and coins (okay, they were just toys, but we pretended they were real!).That evening, my whole family went downtown to see an amazing acrobat show. The performers could twist their bodies into all kinds of crazy shapes and do flips and tricks that seemed completely impossible. At one point, there was a lady who climbed up a stack of chairs that went all the way up to the ceiling! I was sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time, worrying she might fall but also really hoping she wouldn't because it was so cool to watch.The next couple of days, we mostly just hung out at my aunt and uncle's house. My cousin has a huge video game collection, so we spent hours battling monsters, racing cars, and playing sports games on his TV. We also had indoor camping in the basement one night where we built a fort out of sheets and chairs to sleep in. My aunt made us s'mores in the microwave and we told ghost stories with the flashlight. It was just like real camping but without the bugs and wild animals!Finally, on the last day of holiday, the whole family went to the zoo. I love seeing all the different animals up close. We went to the petting zoo area where I got to feed carrots to the goats and sheep. Their tongues were so scratchy when they licked the food from my hand! The monkey exhibit was probably my favorite though. Those little guys were sooo funny climbing all over their enclosure, playing and wrestling with each other. One of them made a really goofy face right at me and I laughed so hard.At the end of the day, I was pretty tired from walking around the huge zoo, but I didn't want the holiday to end. We had to start driving back home that evening to get ready for school the next day. I felt sad leaving my cousins, but also really happy that I got to spend so much quality time with my family over the break. We made so many amazing memories together.As I laid in bed that night, I thought back over everything we did - the adventures in the mountains, the ziplining and kayaking, the exploring and games with my cousin, the incredible acrobat show, the indoor camping, the hilarious monkeys at the zoo. What an action-packed and exciting week it was! I used to think that holidays were kind of boring since we just sit around at home a lot, but this one proved me totally wrong. My parentsmade it the funnest, most epic holiday ever and now I can't wait for the next school break to see what superb shenanigans we get up to. Yay for holidays!篇6My Awesome May Day HolidayWow, what an amazing May Day holiday I just had! It was a whole week off from school and my parents let me do so many fun things. I'm going to tell you all about the exciting adventures I went on over the break.It all started on Sunday, April 30th. That was the day before the holiday officially began, but my parents surprised me by taking me to an amusement park! We went to Chimelong Paradise in Guangzhou. It's this huge theme park with tons of thrilling roller coasters and rides. My favorite was the 4D movie experience where it felt like we were flying through a magical forest. The special effects were incredible with wind, mist, and even smells making it seem so real. After the movie, we went on tons of rides like the Condor Flyer where you soar high up in the air like a bird. So much fun!The next day was May 1st and the official start of the holiday week. My parents let me sleep in late since we were so tuckeredout from the amusement park the day before. When I finally woke up, we had a delicious family lunch of dumplings, noodles, and sweet custard buns. Then we just hung around the house relaxing for the rest of the day, watching movies and playing video games. It was nice to have a calm day at home after all the excitement.On Tuesday, we went to visit my grandparents in a small village outside the city. They live in a traditional Chinese courtyard house from the Qing Dynasty era. It was built with beautiful dark wood beams and tile roofs. My grandpa showed me his little garden where he grows strawberries, green beans, and pumpkins. I even got to pick some ripe strawberries right off the vine and eat them. So sweet and juicy! In the evening, my grandma cooked an amazing homecooked meal with soy chicken, stir-fried veggies, and fragrant jasmine rice. Her cooking is the best.Wednesday was probably my favorite day of the whole break. We went on a little overnight trip to Yangshuo in the Guangxi province. This area is famous for its stunning karst mountain landscapes with tall, skinny peaks jutting up everywhere into the sky. First, we took a relaxing bamboo raft ride down the Li River, admiring the incredible scenery along theriverbanks. Then we biked through the countryside, pedaling past rice paddies, water buffalo, and friendly local villagers. In the evening, we went exploring in the colorful West Street market. I got to snack on delicious skewers of meat, candied fruit, and sugary twists. We stayed overnight in a rustic boutique hotel right in the heart of the old town.Thursday morning, we went rock climbing up one of the karst peaks outside of Yangshuo before heading back to the city. Rock climbing was terrifying at first since I was harnessed up and ascending rapidly up the sheer cliff face. But once I got the hang of it, I felt like a real adventurer searching for secret handholds and footholds in the rock to pull myself up higher and higher. The views from the top were breathtaking, with ranges of jagged peaks all around and the winding Li River in the distance. Such an unforgettable experience!For the last couple days of the holiday, we stuck closer to home. On Friday, we visited some cultural sites in Guangzhou like the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, a gorgeous complex of historic buildings and temples. My little brother and I had a competition to see who could find and identify the most stone animal statues decorating the place. I'm happy to report that I won afterspotting 12 different creatures like dragons, kylins, and phoenixes!Then on Saturday, the last day of break, we spent the day at the Guangzhou Science Center. This place was a science wonderland with tons of hands-on exhibits. I got to experience hurricane force winds in a simulator, learn how holograms and 3D movies work, and even step inside a real old-fashioned zeppelin for a virtual reality tour. My brain was stuffed full of new knowledge by the end of the day! We finished off the holiday by watching an amazing acrobat show that night before I had to go back to school on Sunday.Overall, I had such an epic May Day holiday this year. I feel like I crammed so many different adventures into just one week - theme parks, visiting family, traveling to beautiful scenic areas, cultural activities, and educational fun too. I have so many amazing memories from all the places we went and things we did as a family. The only downside is that now I'm completely exhausted and need a holiday to recover from my holiday! But it was truly an unforgettable spring break that I'll cherish forever. Bring on summer vacation!。
