Success Needs Efforts and Determination

The Rio Olympic Games ended not long ago. In this leading sporting event, Zhang Jike won another two medals for his 23 years of ping-pong life.Winning medals from Olympic Games is a great honor to athletes. Jike is no exception.

When Jike was a child ,his father taught him to play Ping-pong .His hard work and great talent made him stand out from the crowd. Holding lots of medals, Zhang Jike was admitted to the national team. To improve himself, his training intensity was even several times greater than others’. Hard work paid off, in 2011, Zhang Jike won the World Table Tennis Championships and the Table tennis World Cup, which provided him with the opportunity to the London Olympic where not only did he win the championship but was the quickest one that won the Grand Slam in only 455 days. He shocked the world.

Zhang Jike became a household name. Regarded as the most successful Ping-pong player, he was excited about the support from people. He occasionally went to public places of entertainment. In 2015, he hit the lowest point in his sports life. After losing the competitions with foreign countries in succession, he doubted himself. What he needed was not only support or encouragement from fans but efforts and determination. He dropped the thought that he was the one who can succeed without efforts, and struggled to back to hard training. Unfortunately, in 2015, Zhang Jike was diagnosed with serious back injury again. It was likely that serious back injury is a huge impediment on his career. But he kept training as if his back hadn’t been badly hurt. In 2016, he got the silver medal in the Rio Olympic, for which his efforts were meaningful.

Zhang Jike was once a beginner, but now he is a top ping-pong player. It tells us that we shouldn’t be afraid of realizing our dreams no matter how hard it is. Nothing is difficult if we devote ourselves to doing it. When we hold our dreams, we will never be tired but full of courage and energy.

If we want to succeed, determination is also of great importance. The path to success is tortuous, we should prepare to make our way through difficulties. Don't give up whenever we run into difficulties. Someone who is easy to be overthrown never obtains success. Therefore, remember to smile when meeting difficulties.

Last but not least, work hard. Efforts are the foundation of success. After all, there is no such thing as a free lunch. If we pursue the success, we should work hard until the last. As for Zhang Jike, he wouldn’t have been the champion if he had made no efforts.

All in all, no pain, no gain. Only with efforts and determination, can we be successful.
