会议期间，会议组织者会专门安排墙报展示时间。
有的安排在咖啡时间，一般会在1个小时左右。
有的安排在下午口头报告前，如2个小时。
有的安排在会议某一天下午专门留出2小时左右的墙报展示时间。
也有的会议把墙报在安排在晚上。
墙报展示者要在规定的墙报展示时间里站在自己的墙报前等候，给参会者介绍和交流自己的研究成果。
如果会议上有评选最佳墙报活动(主要是针对研究生)，会有一个委员会逐个看墙报，并提问。
墙报展示时间，气氛热烈，人声鼎沸，熙熙攘攘，代表们拿着啤酒、红酒穿梭在不同的墙报中，饶有兴趣地交流着。
不同的代表会从不同的角度提出各种不同的问题，这种交流方式效果很好，双方都会很有收获，所以很受欢迎。
