In the culture of British and America, it is very important to consult a time before you invite somebody to attend a banquet or take part in social activities. Esp. in America, invite somebody means you are borrow times of others. So they respect time very much. While in China, people are prefer to an uninvited guest.
East&West
when we talk to the westerns, we must avoid asking some questions like this: “How old are you?” “Are you married?” “How many children do you have?” “How much do you make?” “Do you go to the church?”
In west, Although they are different in age and status, they can call the other directly, namely, their names, even first names .They demonstrate the sense of intimacy and the conception of” Everyone is created equal”
the cultural difference between china and the west(中西方文化差异)

the cultural difference between china and the west As we all know, culture influenced by country's politics, economy, history and so on vary from country to country. In my views, particularly,it is very obvious that culture between china and the west has many differences. To begin with ,some words' meaning and use are different. For example, in china, the word dag is usually related to bad things, such as 狼心狗肺,狗眼看人低. It is always used to describe a person who is cunning with derogatory sense. On the contrary, in the west, the word dag means friendly and loyalty . If somebody says:"you are a lucky dag ." you are not surprise at it. Because he or she admires at your fortune.Secondly, there are some differences in concept between china and the west. The cultural difference often reflects the difference of sense. In china people lay stress on the importance of community, but in the west ,they emphasize the importance on individual. In china maybe everyone knows modesty helps one to go forward. This is not applied for western people. People in the west are full of confidence. They always pay attention to their advantages but not disadvantages. So when they hunt for jobs. They must not say they are not good at the job.,but they will try their best to make progress and achieve the goal. They must say if you hire them, they will take full use of their advantages to work and make the biggest profit for your company.Thirdly, our custom is different from the west. In this point i want to say the table manner. China is called the state of ceremonies. So in order to express our respect for the elder. We can eat food after all the elder sit down at dinner. As children we can not eat too fast and can not speak when we are eating. Sometimes we may say we can not eat any more, i am full up. In fact we doesn't eat and drink our fill. There are not these rules in the west. They can talk free eat free. They don't feel ill at ease.Maybe, there have cultural difference in other aspects between china and the west. The most important thing i want to say is that we should have the right consciousness and understanding to accept these cultural differences. we should open our eyes to see the world . We should absorb the excellent western culture to promote our cultural development. At the same time we should develop and advocate our traditional culture.Multicultural societyIn recent years with the development of technology and economy no one in china has failed to notice the phenomenon that all kinds of culture has appeared in society so called multicultural society. It is true there are some helpful culture for our country in some aspects to some degree. Facing the global situation, we should absorb excellent culture to expand our horizon and promote our development. However such as the impact of the Japanese culture is a shock to the sense of a community. Furthermore , there is a tendency nowadays that the youngs pursue the foreign culture and forget out traditional culture. So the problem of how can we develop our traditional culture in multicultural society has aroused wide concern among the public. To my way of thinking we should combine the strength of citizens and government.First and foremost, a public education campaign should be launched to inform the public of the importance of developing traditional culture in multicultural society. Teachers should teach students remember our traditional culture in class. Parents should guide their children to enjoy our traditional culture. Students may build the sense of honor of our traditional culture through education.Secondly , government has made and implemented relevant laws and regulations to develop our culture. Such as the spring festival is celebrateas a national day . I consider it as a good way to recall our culture. It is an effective way for us to arouse citizens' consciousness that our traditional culture is very important for us in multicultural society.Anyone of us has good reason to take actions to protect and develop traditional culture . With these measures taken it is reasonable for us to believe that this problem can be perfectly solved in the near future. It is deeply--rooted in my mind that we not only study other country's culture well but also can develop our own culture.Marriage and relationship between man and woman Recently , there is a growing tendency nowadays that people in mounting numbers divorce. It has become a society problem and aroused the wide concern among public. So it becomes a heated discussion that how to marriage and relationship between man and woman. In my perspective, we can solve this problem according on these suggestions as i will say.At the first, marriage should be built on the base of trust . I think we are peculiar friends. For one thing, we have the common understanding about life work and so on . So we can communicate with each other well. For another thing we are familiar with each other. So we know each other habit demerits and so forth. Therefore we should learn how to forgive each other fault and appreciate each other virtue and trust each other without any reasons .Secondly, marriage should be consolidated with love. That is to say we should learn to care for the other side. They are peculiar relative because we will live with each other in a long time from our marriage to our death. Our destiny contact with each other closely. So if one side is upset or disappointed at something, another side should say some warm words to encourage he or she and give he or she confidence to face and solve difficulties . I believe if we deal with relationship like this , ourmarriage and relationship must be fixed. Our marriage life must be full of happiness and enjoyment. As far as i am concerned ,husband and wife all play important roles in marriage. An internal and happy marriage needs to make efforts in two sides. I strongly believe that a happy and harmonious marriage and lasting relationship will be built with trust and love.。

文化之间的对比英语作文Title: A Comparative Analysis of Cultures: Exploring Differences and Similarities。
Culture serves as the cornerstone of society, shaping the beliefs, values, and behaviors of individuals within a community. In this essay, we will delve into a comparative analysis of cultures, exploring both their differences and similarities.Firstly, let's examine the concept of individualism versus collectivism in Western and Eastern cultures. Western societies, particularly those in North America and Europe, often prioritize individual rights, personal achievement, and autonomy. In contrast, Eastern cultures, such as those found in East Asia, tend to emphasize collective goals, social harmony, and interdependence. This fundamental difference manifests in various aspects of life, including family dynamics, education systems, and workplace environments. For example, in Western families, children are encouraged to pursue their own passions and interests, with a focus on personal growth and independence. Conversely, in Eastern families, there is often a strong emphasis onfilial piety and familial obligation, where individuals are expected to prioritize the needs of the family unit above their own desires.Similarly, education systems in Western countries typically promote critical thinking, creativity, and individual expression. Students are encouraged to question authority, think independently, and pursue their unique talents. In contrast, education in Eastern cultures often emphasizes rote memorization, respect for authority, and adherence to tradition. Students are expected to excel academically for the betterment of their families and society as a whole.Furthermore, workplace cultures reflect the broader cultural values of each society. In Western countries, employees value autonomy, innovation, and meritocracy.Individuals are rewarded based on their individual contributions and achievements, and there is a strong emphasis on personal responsibility and accountability. On the other hand, in many Eastern cultures, such as Japan and South Korea, there is a greater emphasis on hierarchical structures, group cohesion, and consensus decision-making. Loyalty to the organization and harmony within the team are highly valued, sometimes at the expense of individual recognition.Despite these differences, it is essential to recognize that cultures are not monolithic entities but rather dynamic and multifaceted. There are often overlaps and intersections between different cultural norms and practices. For instance, both Western and Eastern cultures place importance on familial relationships, albeit expressing it in different ways. Similarly, concepts such as respect, integrity, and compassion are universally valued across cultures, albeit with varying degrees of emphasis. In conclusion, the comparison of cultures reveals bothdivergences and convergences, highlighting the rich tapestry of human experience. By understanding and appreciating these differences, we can cultivate greater empathy, respect, and understanding across cultural boundaries. Ultimately, it is through dialogue and exchange that we can build bridges between cultures and foster a more inclusive and harmonious global community.。

对中西方教育异同的看法英语作文
对中西方教育异同的看法英语作文Comparison of Education Systems in the East and WestEducation plays a crucial role in shaping the future of a nation. It is through education that individuals acquire knowledge, skills, and values that enable them to contribute effectively to society. As such, the education system in any country is a reflection of its cultural values, beliefs, and priorities. In this essay, we will compare the education systems in the East and West, highlighting their similarities and differences. One of the key differences between the education systems in the East and West is the emphasis on individualism versus collectivism. In Western countries, such as the United States and Europe, the focus is on promoting individuality andself-expression. Students are encouraged to think critically, question authority, and pursue their own interests. In contrast, in many Eastern countries, such as China and Japan, the emphasis is on collectivism and conformity. Students are taught to respect authority, work together as a team, and prioritize the needs of the group over their own.Another difference between the education systems in the East and West is the approach to standardized testing. InWestern countries, standardized tests are often used to assess students' academic abilities and determine their future educational and career opportunities. In the United States, for example, students take standardized tests such as the SAT and ACT to gain admission to colleges and universities. In contrast, in many Eastern countries, such as China and South Korea, students are subjected to rigorous standardized testing throughout their educational journey. These tests play a significant role in determining the future trajectory of students' lives, often leading to intense pressure and competition.Despite these differences, there are also several similarities between the education systems in the East and West. One key similarity is the importance placed on education as a means of social mobility. In both Eastern and Western countries, education is seen as a pathway to a better life, providing individuals with the opportunity to improve their socio-economic status and achieve their full potential. As a result, parents and policymakers in both regions invest heavily in education, believing that it is the key to unlocking a brighter future for their children.Another similarity between the education systems in the East and West is the increasing emphasis on technology and innovation. In an increasingly globalized and interconnectedworld, both Eastern and Western countries recognize the importance of equipping their students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the digital age. As a result, schools in both regions are integrating technology into their classrooms, teaching students how to use computers, coding, and other digital tools to enhance their learning experience. In conclusion, while there are significant differences between the education systems in the East and West, there are also many similarities. Both regions place a high value on education as a means of social mobility and are increasingly integrating technology into their classrooms. By understanding and appreciating the unique strengths and weaknesses of each system, we can work towards creating an education system that best serves the needs of students in today's rapidly changing world.。
中日文化英文作文
中日文化英文作文英文:Culture is a fascinating topic that I am always interested in. As a Chinese, I grew up in a culture that values family, respect for elders, and hard work. On the other hand, I have also been exposed to Japanese culture, which has a strong emphasis on politeness, harmony, and attention to detail. One of the biggest differences between Chinese and Japanese culture is the emphasis on individualism versus collectivism. In China, family and community come first, and individuals are expected to sacrifice their own interests for the greater good. In Japan, there is a strong sense of group harmony and individuals are expected to conform to social norms and put the needs of the group above their own.Another difference is the way that communication isapproached. In China, direct communication is often valued, and people may speak their minds openly and directly. In Japan, there is a greater emphasis on indirect communication, and people may use subtle gestures or hintsto convey their meaning.Despite these differences, there are also many similarities between Chinese and Japanese culture. Both cultures place a strong emphasis on education and hard work, and both value politeness and respect for others. Additionally, both cultures have a rich history andtradition of art, literature, and philosophy. In my personal experience, I have found that understanding and appreciating different cultures has enriched my life and broadened my perspective. By learning about different ways of thinking and behaving, I have become more open-minded and tolerant of others.中文:文化是一个我一直感兴趣的话题。

Comparison of cultural differences between China andJapanThe same as the Asian countries, China and Japan, the neighbors have of a long communication history. Therefore, there are many similarities in culture between the two countries. But the culture is changing with the times, because of the differences in the political system, economic system, social environment and so on, there are also differences in culture. This paper will simply analyze the cultural differences between China and Japan.1.Chinese Society & CultureThe Importance of “Face”The concept of ‘face’ roughly translates as ‘honour’,‘good reputation’ or ‘respect’.There are four types of ‘face’: Diu-mian-zi, Gei-mian-zi,Liu-mian-zi,Jiang-mian-zi.It is critical you avoid losing face or causing the loss of face at all times.ConfucianismConfucianism is a system of behaviours and ethics that stress the obligations of people towards one another based upon their relationship. Confucianism stresses duty, sincerity, loyalty, honour, filial piety, respect for age and seniority. Throughmaintaing harmonious relations as individuals, society itself becomes stable.Collectivism vs. IndividualismIn general, the Chinese are a collective society with a need for group affiliation, whether to their family, school, work group, or country. In order to maintain a sense of harmony, they will act with decorum at all times and will not do anything to cause someone else public embarrassment. They are willing to subjugate their own feelings for the good of the group.Non-Verbal CommunicationChinese non-verbal communication speaks volumes. Since the Chinese strive for harmony and are group dependent, they rely on facial expression, tone of voice and posture to tell them what someone feels. Frowning while someone is speaking is interpreted as a sign of disagreement.Chinese Etiquette and CustomsMeeting EtiquetteGreetings are formal and the oldest person is always greeted first. Handshakes are the most common form of greeting with foreigners. The Chinese have a terrific sense of humour. They can laugh at themselves most readily if they have a comfortable relationship with the other person.Gift Giving EtiquetteIn general, gifts are given at Chinese New Year, weddings, births and more recently (because of marketing), birthdays. The Chinese like food and a nice food basket will make a great gift.Gifts are not opened when received. Gifts may be refused three times before they are accepted. 2.Japanese Society & Culture The Japanese and ‘Face’Saving face is crucial in Japanese society. If the request cannot be agreed to, they will say,‘it’s inconvenient’ or ‘it’s under consideration’. Therefore, they do not openly criticize, insult, or put anyone on-the-spot.Face can be lost, taken away, or earned through praise and thanks.Harmony in Japanese SocietyHarmony is the key value in Japanese society. Harmony is the guiding philosophy for the Japanese in family and business settings and in society as a whole. They place great emphasis on politeness, personal responsibility and working together for the universal, rather than the individual, good. They present facts that might be disagreeable in a gentle and indirect fashion. They see working in harmony as the crucial ingredient for working productively.Japanese Non-Verbal Communication Since the Japanese strive forharmony and are group dependent, they rely on facial expression, tone of voice and posture to tell them what someone feels. They often trust non-verbal messages more than the spoken word as words can have several meanings. It is considered disrespectful to stare into another person’s eyes, particularly those of a person who is senior to you because of age or status. In crowded situations the Japanese avoid eye contact to give themselves privacy.Japanese HierarchyThe Japanese are very conscious of age and status. Everyone has a distinct place in the hierarchy, be it the family unit, the extended family, a social or a business situation. At school children learn to address other students as senior to them (‘senpai’) or junior to them (‘kohai’). The oldest person in a group is always revered and honoured. In a social situation, they will be served first and their drinks will be poured for them.武真真(1986-),女,河南平顶山人,苏州卫生职业技术学院,助教,学士。
