一般过去时 与 过去进行时 的区别
一般过去时表示过去已经发 生的动作或存在的状态,强 调一种事实或结果;而过去 进行时表示过去某时正在持 续进行的动作或尚未完成的 动作,强调过程。

过去完成时
概念:表示过去的过去;其构成是had +过去 分词构成。 用法: a. 在told, said, knew, heard, thought等动词后 的宾语从句。 她说她从未去过巴黎。 She said (that) she had never been to Paris.
b. 状语从句 在过去不同时间发生的两个动作中,发生在 先,用过去完成时;发生在后,用一般过去 时。 在警察到来之前贼已经跑了。 When the police arrived, the thieves had run away.
2. 过去进行时表示现在: 用过去进行时表示现在主要是为了使语气委 婉、客气。 如:我不知你能否让我搭一下车。 I was wondering if you could give me a lift.
3. 过去进行时表示感情色彩与现在进行时相 似,过去进行时也可表示满意、称赞、惊讶、 厌恶等感情色彩,也通常与 always, forever, continually等副词连用。 如:他们老是吵架。 They were always quarrelling. 这个男孩子老是问东问西的。 The boy was continually asking questions.
表示意向的动词,如 hope, wish, expect, think, intend, mean, suppose等,用过去完成时表示 “原本……,未能……” eg: 我们本希望你能来的,但是你没有。 We had hoped that you would come, but you didn’t. c. 过去完成时的时间状语before, by, until , when, after, once, as soon as。 e.g: 他说他以前学过一些英语。 He said that he had learned some English before.
爱迪生十二岁之前就开始自己谋生 了。 By the time he was twelve, Edison had began to make a living by himself.
过去进行时
1. 过去进行时的基本用法主要表示过去某一 时间正在进行的动作。 如:他看书时睡着了。 He fell asleep when he was reading. 我们昨天一直在等你。 We were expecting you yesterday. 我在做功课时他在玩。 He was playing while I was studying.
一般过去时的基本用法 1. 带有确定的过去时间状语时,要用过去时 如:yesterday(昨天)、two days ago…(两 天前)、last year…(去年)、the other day (前几天)、once upon a time(过去曾经)、 just now(刚才)、in the old days(过去的 日子里)、before liberation(解放前)、 when I was 8 years old(当我八岁时…)、 at+ 一个时间点 前几天,你们开了晚会了吗? Did you have a party the other day?

1. 概念: 过去某个时间里发生的动作或状态;过去习 惯性、经常性的动作、行为。 2. 时间状语: ago, yesterday, the day before yesterday, last week, last (year, night, month…), in 1989, just now, at the age of 5, one day, long ago, once upon a time, etc. 3. 基本结构: be 动词、行为动词的过去式
4. 动词be的过去进行时也可表示过去一时的 表现或暂时的状态。比较。 如:他很友好。 (指过去长期如此) He was friendly. 他当时显得很友好。 (指当时一时的表现) He was being friendly.

3. 表示过去一段时间内经常或反复的 动作常与always,never等连用。 e.g. 彼得太太过去老是带着一把伞。 Mrs. Peter always carried an umbrella.
