本课是第二册Module2.Unit1中的内容，我借助“任务型”教学采用多样化的教学手段将听、说、读、练、演、唱溶于一体，激发学生学习英语的兴趣和愿望，使学生通过合作学习体验到荣誉感和成就感而树立信心。
逐步提高运用英语来进行简单交际的能力。
2、教材的地位，作用及前后联系：本教材是应素质教育而编写的，它适应于现代社会生活。
本课在整体内容中也占有重要地位。
它既是对前面内容的巩固，深入，也是为下一课内容做好准备，起到承上启下的作用。
3、教学目标（1）知识技能目标词汇：they、monkey、tiger、lion、elephant、panda、small、big、fat、thin句型：能理解、掌握并能在实际情境中运用—what’s this?—It’s a/an… It’s big/…— what are they?—They’re… They’re fat/…（2）能力运用目标让学生通过学习本课的知识，能在实际生活中化理论为实际，充分让英语语言在实践中进行运用。
并且要爱护动物，因为动物是我们人类的好朋友。

二、说教法与学法（1）任务型教学方法就是让学生通过学习来完成所学知识的任务目标，从开始就无形地把任务参入教学中，以便最终达到教学目的。
（2）情境教学法：考虑到学生的年龄和个性，用情境教学法能让他们印象更深刻，在表演中使用道具，激发了学生想说的兴趣，也有利于提高学生的表达能力。
（3）鼓励教学法课堂评价主要以鼓励评价为主，分别采用了师评、互评、自评为主要方式，课堂中适当地使用鼓励性评价和赠送小动物卡片的方法满足了学生渴望成功的心理，这是最简单而有效的方法。
