长颈鹿( Giraffe)是非洲的一种特有动物，雄性个体最高可达6米，重达1900公斤。
长颈鹿通常生一对角，终生不会脱掉，皮肤上的花斑网纹则为一种天然的保护色。
长颈鹿喜欢群居。
在野外长颈鹿的寿命为20-25年，动物园里的能活28年。
一头长颈鹿每天能摄入63公斤的树叶和嫩枝。
长颈鹿用长达40厘米的舌头来清理面部的小虫子。
长颈鹿的舌头不怕荆棘，能自如地进食多刺的叶子。
长颈鹿是胆小善良的动物，每当遇到天敌时，立即逃跑。
它能以每小时60公里的速度奔跑。
长颈鹿那铁锤似的巨蹄是很有力的武器，踢一下足以使狮子的头骨踢碎或者肋骨粉碎。
长颈鹿每天的睡眠时间只有20分钟到两小时之间。
它能够睁着眼睛睡觉。
