Steps

1)Understanding

a)Read 2 – 3 times

i.Main idea

ii.Topic – way of thinking

iii.Professional

iv.New words 根据题意猜，根据同向、逆向推理出，用基本构词法猜

b)Pronoun 代词，要翻译出来

c)复杂句，分析、切分

i.切分标准，在引导词断开，引导词相当从句。分号，but，and等

d)三大修饰语

i.Words

ii.Phrases 介词、不定时、现代分词、过去分词、形容词

iii.从句定语从句、状语从句

iv.短语相当于从句，很普遍

2)Expression

a)A, Literal translation 直译word-for-word

b)Free translation 意译

c)以直译为主，意译为辅

3)Checking

a)观点性错误

b)错别字

在草稿纸把逻辑关系勾画出来，再…再…，如果….就…。不能在试卷上涂改，要一气呵成。

Complete 整体，不能漏译

翻译三原则

1，增词法

结构上增词

时态：正、完成时

数：这个，s-们些

习惯表达：thought …, …尽管…但是

Svo unless svo. 除非…否则（不然）…

如果…那么…

因为…所以…

A new kind of aircraft --- small, cheap and pilotless--- is attracting increasing attention.

一种新的飞机正在引起人们越来越多的注意。该飞机不仅体积小，价格便宜，而且

还是无人驾驶。

破折号有用意，补充说明。插入语单独翻。

And -> 1 并列，2 递进，3 转折

2，减词法

It is true that she is ill.

她确实病了。

Wash my face, brush my teeth and comb my hair.

洗脸，刷牙，梳头

3，转换法

a)词性

She is musical. 形容词-> 动词

Are you for or against my proposals? 介词-> 动词

Actually, it isn’t that…表语-> 动词

b)句子成分的转换

There is little change in her. 状语-> 主语

Great changes have taken place in Shenzhen in the last 30 years. 状语-> 主语

c)词序的转换

Iron and steel plant 钢铁厂

Export & import Co. 进出口

Track & field sport meeting 田径运动会

Northeasterners 东北人

Chinese American 美籍华人

d)词义的引申

Don’t brother me. 别跟我套近乎。

各种句子结构的翻译技巧

1，被动语态

a)尽量译为主动语态

只有一个状态从句，说明是修饰主句，要放前面

1.Greater efforts should be made to increase agricultural production if food

shortage is to be avoided.

2.如果想要避免粮食短缺，那么（增词）必须做出更大的努力来提高粮食产

量。

b)有时直接译为被动

常用“受到”、“为。。。所”、“给”、“让”、“遭受”

1.The first visiting group was given a warm welcome in Taiwan.

2.首批观光团在台湾受到热烈欢迎。

c)经典的被动句型

It is V-ed (said/reported/estimated) that

1.按约定俗成的翻译

据说，据报道，据估计

2.无主句

a)It must be pointed out (admitted) that…

必须指出的是…

b)It is realized/suggested/believed that…

据不出来时，增译逻辑主语，“人们”“大家”“有人”“人人”。人们

意识到，有人建议，人们认识

2，否定句

a)部分否定

Not/No (all, every, each, always, often, necessarily)

i.Not every student in our class is from Shenzhen only.

并非我们班的每个学员都来自深圳。

ii.All that glitters is not gold.

所有发光的不一定都是金子。

b)全部否定

Non 三者以上的否定

Neither 两者的否定
