1Nowadays, colleges and universities enroll an increasing number of students year after year. After four years of study, they have to meet more and more rivals in the labor market, usually many of them going home with no work at all, disappointed. With more graduates and less job vacancies, students are encouraged to start business of their own when they graduate from university. They may start take up anything they are interested in, make decision on their own, and obtain the fruit of their own labor. In this way, graduates will become more independent, imaginative and creative.Yet this process should be supported by our government. The government should provide special policies for these students, and when necessary, guide them onto a correct road. 2I'm in my third year now in Environmental Sciences. And what do I want to do with my B.S. once I graduate? Become a librarian. Yes, I know it sounds completely random and unrelated, but that's my master plan. Right now I'm preparing for all those crazy grad school applications that I'll be sending in next fall. I began thinking about what kind of skills I have and what kind of jobs would complement my natural interests. I've thought about becoming a librarian dozens of times growing up but for some strange reason, I never took it seriously. But it popped back into my mind as I was contemplating all this. So I began to do some research and I also talked to a lot of family and friends. It's crazybecause everyone I shared with gave me a lot of affirmation and encouragement about pursuing it! If there's anything you can get out of my strange journey I hope it's the comfort and reassurance that you don't always have to know what you want to do in the near future. And it's okay to change majors or even pursue a major that may not necessarily be related to your future career. You should enjoy what you're studying. But also seek after what you really love. 3Should College Graduates Start Their Own Business? With the competition in the job market becoming increasingly fierce for college graduates, some ambitious students have tried their hands at launching their own businesses. Over the years, there have been many successful cases of student entrepreneurship and such attempts should be encouraged and promoted by both the universities and the society at large.College students who start businesses are pioneers, among whom will be born China’s future business leaders. Faced with unknown challenges, they are audacious enough to embark on a perilous journey while most of their peers enjoy stable salaries by working as white-collars at high-end office buildings. Nevertheless, they are the masters of their own destiny and, exposed to many more uncertainties and setbacks, they develop perseverance, stamina and the indomitable spirit that are indispensible to all the great entrepreneurs. Even if they fail, they are not down; they keep exploring for new business opportunities and work tirelessly until they succeed. As people of vision, of individual initiative, of leadership, and of creativity and innovation, they represent the future and the hope of anation. Not all college graduates are suitable for undertaking entrepreneurial projects. To launch a business, one needs to have a sound business idea, a viable business plan, the charisma to create a cohesive team where members make concerted efforts for a common objective, effective managerial skills, and above all, the courage to compete against powerful rivals and ultimately to prevail. The essential difference between the students who become civic servants in government organizations or employees at leading domestic or multinational companies and those who create their own businesses is that the former are docile followers whereas the latter are aggressive trailblazers. For this reason,business-launching college graduates are more admirable, and thus they command our deep respect.【参考译文】大学毕业生应否自己创业对于大学毕业生来说,随着就业市场上的竞争日趋白热化,某些雄心勃勃的学生已开始尝试着去自己创业。

1The Super Cool Club for Young EntrepreneursHave you ever had a brilliant idea for a new toy, game, or gadget? Or maybe you dream of starting your own business one day, like a cool lemonade stand or a dog walking service? Well, there's an awesome program called CUSP that can help make those dreams come true!CUSP is a funny word, but it stands for the University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program. It's a really neat thing that universities do to teach students how to take their great ideas and turn them into actual businesses or inventions. Pretty cool, right? The best part is that CUSP isn't just for university students. Schools can set up their own mini-CUSP clubs to get kids like you started on the road to becoming an entrepreneur – that's a fancy word for someone who creates and runs their own business. How awesome would it be to be your own boss while you're still a kid?In a CUSP club, you'd learn all about coming up with creative ideas, like designing a new kind of bouncy ball or a gizmo that helps you flossing your teeth without it hurting. But coming up with the idea is just the first step. CUSP also teaches you how to turn that idea into something real that people will actually want to buy. You'd learn about doing market research to understand if people really need your cool new invention. You'd make prototypes and test them out to work out any kinks. And you'd develop a business plan for how to make, sell, and market your product. It's like their teaching you how to think like a mini Steve Jobs or Oprah Winfrey!Another awesome part of CUSP is that you get to work in teams with other kids. That means you can make friends and have fun while putting your minds together to birth incredible new ideas into the world. Who knows, you and your buddies might just create the next big craze like Pokémon Go or Hatchimals! The teams are mentored by teachers and university students who have entrepreneurship experience. So you get support and guidance from folks who have actually started their own businesses before. They can give you tips on everything fromnegotiating with suppliers to advertising your product. It's like having a bunch of super cool entrepreneurial uncles and aunts! At the end of the CUSP program, the teams get to pitch their ideas to judges, kind of like on the show Shark Tank. You'll need to really sell why your idea is the next million dollar invention. The judges might ask you all kinds of tough questions to see how well you know your stuff. It's nerve-wracking but incredibly exciting! The best ideas even get funding and support to actually turn them into real businesses that could get sold in stores. Just imagine walking through the toy aisle and seeing a product that you invented yourself! Or having your new dog walking app downloaded by thousands of people around the world. That's the ultimate dream for a kid entrepreneur.I don't know about you, but I think this CUSP thing sounds like the raddest club ever. You get to tap into your creativity, learn about business, work with friends, get mentored by legit entrepreneurs, and maybe even become a kidpreneur yourself! What's not to love? This CUSP program is still pretty new, but more and more schools are adding it. If your school doesn't have it yet, you should totally bug your principal about starting one up. Just tellthem you're ready to become the next Bethany Hamilton of the business world! Who knows where your big ideas could take you?篇2Sure! It's a super cool program that helps students like you and me learn all aboutstarting our own businesses and coming up with awesome new ideas. Isn't that exciting? The SIETP stands for the Student Innovative and Entrepreneurial Training Program. That's a really long name, isn't it? But it tells you exactly what it's all about - innovation (coming up with new ideas), entrepreneurship (starting your own business), and training (learning how to do it)! This program is run by universities all across China to help students develop their creativity and business skills. They teach you everything from generating ideas, to making prototypes, to pitching your idea to investors who can give you money to make it a reality. How cool is that?I got to participate in the SIETP last year and let me tell you, it was an amazing experience! We formed teams and each team had to come up with a new product or service idea. My team's idea was for a smart backpack that could charge your phone and laptop using solar power. Neat, right?First, we had to do a bunch of research on solar power, batteries, backpack designs and see if anyone had made something similar before. Then we made rough sketches and drawings to plan out how it would look and work. After that, webuilt an actual prototype out of basic materials like cardboard, wires and a little solar panel.Building the prototype was the fun part, but also really hard. We had to keep trying different designs until we got one that seemed to work well. I'm telling you, there was a lot of cutting, gluing, and taping involved! We even had to sew the different pieces together at one point.Once we had a working prototype, we had to prepare a whole presentation to pitch our smart backpack idea to investors. We made slides explaining the backpack, how it works, who would want to buy it, how much it might cost to produce, and why it's better than regular backpacks. Putting together the pitch was almost as much work as making the prototype itself! Finally, it was pitch day and we got up on a stage in front of real investors and entrepreneurs to present our idea. I was so nervous my legs were shaking! But my teammates helped calm me down and we gave a great presentation. The investors actually really liked our idea and said they could see it being a successful product one day.In the end, we didn't win any prize money since our prototype wasn't fully functional yet. But getting all thathands-on experience in innovation, design, prototyping andpitching was the real reward. The SIETP taught me skills that will help me so much if I ever want to start my own company when I'm older.I think programs like the SIETP are awesome for getting kids interested in entrepreneurship at a young age. We learned that you don't have to be a grown-up to come up with million-dollar business ideas. You just need creativity, hard work and the right training! So if your school or university offers the SIETP, I'd highly recommend getting involved. You'll get to work on real projects, build cool prototypes, and pitch to actual investors and business people. And who knows, you might just come up with the next big innovation that changes the world! What are you waiting for? Start brainstorming yourmillion-dollar idea right now! Maybe a teleporting backpack? Or self-tying shoelaces? The possibilities are endless when you unleash your imagination through the SIETP. Let's get innovative!篇5What's the UIETP? The IETP also teaches us important life skills like problem-solving, teamwork, and communication.
