2019年中考英语专项复习及答案(阅读理解+词汇应用+首字母+书面表达)(限时:60分钟)一、阅读理解The customs in different countries are rather different. If I have dinner with a Chinese host, he always puts more food onto my plates as soon as I have emptied them. It often discomforts me greatl y. I have to eat the food even if I don’t want to, because it is considered bad manners in the West to leave one’s food on the plate. I have already noticed that when a Chinese sits at an American’s dinner party, he very often refuses the offer of food or drink though he is in fact still hungry or thirsty. This might be good manners in china, but it is not in the West at all. In the US it is impolite to keep asking someone again and again or insist on him accepting something. Americans have a direct way of speaking. If they want something, they will ask for it. If not, they will say “No, thanks”. When an American is fed with beer by the host, for example, he might say, “No, thanks, I’ll take some Diet. Pepsy–cola if you have it.” That is what an American wil l do. So when you go to the US, you had better remember the famous saying, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do”.1. From the passage, we know that the Chinese are usually _______ to the guests.A. eager to give all they haveB. politeC. impoliteD. cold2. When a foreigner has dinner with a Chinese host, he often feels _________.A. pleasantB. uncomfortableC. satisfiedD. happy3. Why does a Chinese often refuse the offer of food or drink at a dinner party? Because _______.A. he has had enoughB. he is shyC. he is afraid that others will laugh at himD. he thinks it’s polite to do that4. When an American wants something to eat or drink at dinner, he will _________.A. go and take it himselfB. refuse the hosts offerC. ask for it directlyD. ask another to fetch it for him5. “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” Means ________.A. when you get to Rome, you should act as the Romans doB. when you stay in Rome, you should do as the Romans doC. when you are in a new country, you should do as the natives doD. Romans can be example for you【参考答案】1-5 、BBDCC二、词汇运用(ⅰ)用方框中所给词语的适当形式填空。

科普环保类AThere are an extremely large number of ants worldwide。

Each individual(个体的)ant hardly weighs anything, but put together they weigh roughly the same as all of mankind. They also live nearly everywhere, except on frozen mountain tops and around the poles。

For animals their size, ants have been astonishingly successful, largely due to their wonderful social behavior。

In colonies(群体)that range in size from a few hundred to tens of millions, they organize their lives with a clear division of labor.Even more amazing is how they achieve this level of organization。

Where we use sound and sight to communicate, ants depend primarily on pheromones(外激素),chemicals sent out by individuals and smelled or tasted by fellow members of their colony. When an ant finds food,it produces a pheromone that will lead others straight to where the food is.When an individual ant comes under attack or is dying,it sends out an alarm pheromone to warn the colony to prepare for a conflict as a defense unit。

Most readers know that his real name was Samuel Longhorne Clemens, but how many know where the pen name “Mark Twain” came from? The answer show s Clemens' colourful early life before he became a writer. “Mark Twain” was the cry shouted on a ship when the ship entered a part of a river that was two fathoms(6 feet)deep. “Twain” is an oldfashioned way of saying “two”. Twain trained as a ship pilot o n the Mississippi river for two years, a time that he wrote about in the humorous Life on the Mississippi(1883).The famous river would become an important theme in many of his works—who could forget the journey of Huck and Jim along it in his most famous book, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn(1884)?With little education, he had to teach himself how to write stories. Whenever possible, he would go to public libraries. There he spent much time reading and thinking, which greatly helped him with his writing. On the other hand, his life experiences gave him wonderful material to write about and attract readers. Twain wrote in a style that has been called “local colour” because it shows great knowledge of local people and their customs. This gift is very clear in the two books for which Twain is still celebrated today:The Adventures of Tom Sawyer(1876) and its follow-up The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, whichmany people call “The Great American Novel”.The most amazing invention in the book is the voice of Huck himself. Huck did not enjoy schooling. It shows in the way he uses language, in a spoken style. Only a master like Twain could copy the way a young southern boy talked so well.()1. Twain's experiences as a ship pilot.()2. According to the passage, what is the best part of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn?A. The deep social meaning.B. The exciting life experiences.C. Mark Twain's life experiences which influenced his writing.Passage 7Rachel Carson(1907-1964) was a pioneer of the world's environmental movement through her writing about the protection of the natural world. Her 1962 book Silent Spring made her well known by many people. It describes the harmful changes in the environment of using toxic(有害的) chemicals on farmland.Carson's career started as a biologist in the US Bureau of Fisheries. ln 1951 she published her first book, The Sea Around Us, which became a bestseller. It made her rich enough to leave her job and devote her life to writing. She was a gifted writer.

抓住四个"W"和一个"H",就是边读边用铅笔做些标记,把What (事件),When (时间),Where(地点),Why(原因),How(经过)划出来。

A Yesterday some of my friends talked about women' s jobs. They have different opinions. Here are some of their ideas:

C A famous magician (魔术师) came to our city and gave some shows every day. Most of his shows had some educational messages. He taught lessons about health, history and some other important things about life through his magic tricks. Both parents and children enjoyed his magic shows, the children mainly for the fun and the parents mainly for the education.

My aunt went to our home and gave us two tickets for one of his shows last week. I watched the show with my mother last Wednesday. I had seen this magician's show on TV one year ago. But it was the first time I had seen alive (现场演出的) show, so I was very excited. The show taught children not to steal by describing how a person might feel when his or her thing was stolen. In the show, there was a monkey who liked eating bananas. He often stole things and never cared about the owners' feelings. Then one day he found his own things were stolen. He was worried and angry. From that experience, he realized how worried and angry others would be when their things were lost. From then on he decided to stop stealing.
