50. In many countries today, the eating habits and lifestyle of children are different from those of previous generations. Some people say this has had a negative effect on their health. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? It has recently been suggested that the way children eat and live nowadays has led to a deterioration in their health. I entirely agree with this view, and believe that this alarming situation has come about for several reasons. To begin with, there is the worrying increase in the amount of processed food that children are eating at home, with little or none of the fresh fruit and vegetables that earlier generations ate every day. Secondly, more and more young people are choosing to eat in fast-food restaurants, which may be harmless occasionally, but not every day. What they eat there is extremely high in fat, salt and sugar, all of which can be damaging to their health. There is also a disturbing decline in the amount of exercise they get. Schools have become obsessed with exams, with the shocking result that some pupils now do no sports at all. To make matters worse, few even get any exercise on the way to and from school, as most of them go in their parents’ cars rather than walk or cycle. Finally, children are spending far more time at home, playing computer games, watching TV or surfing the Internet. They no longer play outside with friends or take part in challenging outdoor activities. To sum up, although none of these changes could, on its own, have caused widespread harm to children’s health, there can be little doubt that all of them together have had a devastating effect. This, in my opinion, can only be reversed by encouraging children to return to move traditional ways of eating and living.(267 words)51. In many countries children are engaged in some kind of paid work. Some people regard this as completely wrong, while others consider it as valuable work experience, important for learning and taking responsibility. What is your opinion on this?Nowadays, many children involved in different types of jobs to have some kind of financial assurance for themselves. However, whether this is good for their development and personality is a much debatable issue. I personally believe that paid works is harmful for children for several reasons. It is said that children learn valuable experience in the work place. This may be true. However, I would argue that children are mainly employed for jobs that require manual work and are low paid. The recent statistic reveals the common tasks that children are assigned are washing dishes, cleaning floors or serving food in restaurants. Meanwhile, this kind of jobs actually do not provide children with necessary and useful skills so that they can apply in their future carrer. This brings me to the second point. Defenders of child work argues that it is an effective method of learning. The point is children should be able to apply knowledge taught tothem in a real life working environment. Although this is undoubtedly true, it also means that children may neglect the classroom study and even fail the class. The worst thing is yet to come. They may become so occupied with the benefits ahead of them like small salary and leave school. Finally, supporters said that it helps them to build responsibility in the family. They will understand how it is difficult to earn money and therefore have a compassionate view with their parents. This is true to a certain extent, but may have a totally adverse effect on children. As children can make money at an early age, they would feel that it is appropriate to spend on luxury things by their own money, which could be recovered later. In conclusion, I think that parents should take measures to restrict their child to work, otherwise it would have a negative consequences on their futures. This is a great essay, Band 7+ candidate. My only suggestion is to divide your arguments so that you have 2 paragraphs covering arguments ?against? and one covering arguments ?for? or vise versa. Don?t mix ?for? and ?against? in one paragraph.52. Children should never be educated at home by their parents. Do you agree or disagree?Discuss the advantages and disadvantages for young people who decide to do this. Nobody can say with confidence that children should be taught at home or at anychildren's institutions. There are many different children and every one demand of education suitable only for him.But for most of children the best way of learning the life is being in the children's institutions. Nobody would argue that contacts between children of the same age are very important for bringing your child up. Such a contact is very important for playing, entertaining and learning living with other people. The harmonious living with other people, to my mind, is the first task for any man. Lack of this harmony sets problems and troubles. The children need space to run and make noise, to jump and cry. Do you or your neighbours allow these actions for your child? If you live in town, it is difficult to find a safe place to play. Kindergartens give such a possibility. They give space, a lot of toys and constructions for physical exercises. So, if you have bad living conditions, the kindergarten is the best way for you. But if you have a large family with many children and enough space, you may keep your child at home. You should be sure that the child feels, dressed and comfortable. His brothers and sisters give him necessary contacts. It's noticed long ago that children in big families are much more easy-tempered and calm. They are located in more harmonic world than others.Sometimes differences in age put troubles in contacts between children in large families. Then it is better for child to be sent to the kindergarten (school). But if quarrels don't last for a long time, everything is all right. In general, quarrels develop ability to cooperate with people. They develop a personal initiative and force setting the balance. In such a waythe child gets lessons of life. Addly, the quarrels often take place in kindergartens and schools and we shouldn't fear it.Side by side with quarrels parents often are afraid of colds which happen in kindergartens more frequently. Parents prefer keeping the child at home. But for a healthy child odd cold (if illness occurs, it goes its normal course) can't make big harm to the child. And if the child is adaptable to the conditions of public places earlier it would be better for him in future. In general, I am a follower of the theory of keeping children in adapted places such as good kindergartens. But keeping children in such a place can't replace family and home. Only together they make harmonic and beautiful union.(431 words)53. Some people think that a sense of competition in children should be encouraged. Others believe that children who are taugh to co-operate rather than compete become more useful adults.Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.Nowadays, purpose of education being changed in Korea. There are some People who think that competition in children should be made, also others believe that children who are taught to co-operate as well as become more usefwl adults. There are advantages and disadvantages for both of the arguments. To begin with, what is good if a sense of competition m children is made? They could develope themselves more and more as they learn and study a lot to win from the competitbn. To prove this, in Korea, it is popular - even common now - to have a tutor who come to student's house to teach extra pieces of study with paying a lot of money. They learn faster than what they learn at school. Furthermore, during the vacations, students study abroad to learn English for a month instead of revise school work. If they have experiments such as study abroad, it is one of the greatest plus point to go to the famous well-known high-school. Moreover, there are four big school exam and two national examinations to test students' level of studies. Generally, only the highest 40% can go to the good quatrty highschools and colleges. Children learn as much as they can, to wim the competition to obtain good quality schools. On the other hand, as they are busy to enter the schools and study individually with their own tutors, there are problems. They become selfish. They become careless and don't help others alot if it is about studies. There will be no co-operations for them. Then, why are there companies for many people to work in? Each of them are clever, however, there are weak parts and strong parts for each person. To co-operate is to improve this part. People talk and listen to what others thmking of and learn. That could also be a great opportunity to learn instead of learning alone with one teacher. In conclusion, I strongly agree with that children should be taught to co-operate rather than compete. Nobody is perfect. People learn together, work together to develop each other. Therefore, I want parents and teachers to educate children concentrating on co-operation, not compete and ranking them.(365 words)54. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?Classmates are a more important influence than parents on a child’s success in school.Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.I can not completely agree with the statement that classmates are a more important influence than parents on a child's success in school. In this essay I will first focus on the reasons why I agree with this statement and then list a few points why from my opinion in some cases is not true. From the one side, classmates have a significant influence on child's behavior and his or her success in school. First of all, children spend much time at school. Classmates have many things in common such as age, interests, homework and classes after all. So, they discuss their impressions about a new teacher, solve problems together, learn their homework, gain new knowledge and experience and even make their own discoveries. Sharing all these makes them closer. Some of them become friends and they spend after-school time together. In addition friends tend to copy each other's habits and manners. For instance, my little sister became friends with the girl who did not have good grades at school at that time. It does not mean she could not have better grades; she just had many friends who did not care about their grades. So, when they started to spend their time together and share their interests, girl's grades improved. They did their homework together, shared their dreams and exciting moments. From this point I must agree that classmates can change child’s attitude towards school. From the other side, parents have a great influence on children' success in school too. For example if parents show an interest in their child's progress and talk to him or her about the importance of learning I think their child will listen to them and do his or her best.Personally, I believe that relationships between parents and a child play an essential role in child's success in school. If these relationships are close and wholehearted I am sure that parents should not be afraid of bad influence from the outside.(328 words)55. It is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city.Do you agree or disagree?Use specific reasons and examples to develop your essay. Some people believe that it is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. However, other people think that a big city gives more opportunities and it is good for the long run. Personally, for several reasons I think that it is better for children's health to grow up in the country.First of all, it is very important for a child to grow up in a healthy environment. Children need fresh air, not polluted by the huge amount of cars and factories of the modern city. In the country they can spend more time exercising and walking with their friends. Scientists say that now children spend the same amount of time watching TV as they do at school. Probably, the possibility to join their friends for a play will change thisproportion. Another important aspect of this is that parents will have more time to spend with their children as a result of eliminating traffic jams and decreasing driving time as a whole. From the other side, children have some advantages living in a big city. For example, they have more opportunities to choose from what they want to do. They can choose to attend ballet school, school of art, gymnastics, etc. For the long run, it is good for them. They will be better prepared for a live in a "real world" and they will have more chances to make a good career and succeed. Moreover, a big city usually has many entertaining centers with movie theatres and play stations. When I was a child I liked to go to the movie theatre with my parents to watch a premiere. One more reason to choose a big city for a child is that a city provides better live conditions and services such as medical, dental, etc. My friend lived in the country for a while and one time he and his family had to drive a couple of hours to the nearest medical center when his child got a heavy cough. To summarize, I agree with those people who want to raise their children in a city. The plenty of opportunities offered by a city helps children to find what they really like and be the best at it. Moreover, despite the air pollution, children get a better medical service that is good for their health.(394 words)56. Some people think that children should begin their formal education at a very early age and should spend most of their time on school studies.Others believe that young children should spend most of their time playing. Compare these two views. Which view do you agree with? Why?People learn through their entire lives. Curiosity was always the basic characteristic of a human being. We always want to break limits and learn more. At this point some people think that children should begin their formal education at a very early age and spend most of their time on school studies. This will help them to succeed in the future. However, for several reasons, which I will explain bellow, I think that children should not study at a very early age.Of cause, children who begin to study at a very early age have more chances to succeed in the future. They gain more knowledge and experience which are priceless and valuable. In addition, studying more now they will give them the opportunity to perfect their knowledge in the future and become better professionals. However, I think that every child must have his or her childhood. Children should learn through playing and communication with their friends and parents. I think that such basic qualities as kindness, self-confidence and just a good sense of humor can not be gained from studying. Children should more time spend with their family, playing and learning with their parents. Imagine that a child instead of playing with his friends does his homework and feel exhausted and tired. Another important aspect of this is that children at their early ages need more exercise because at this age the development of their body is a very essential aspect. Children first of all must be healthy. To sum up, I think that children should have their careless childhood with no responsibilities. Moreover, I am sure that playing helps them develop not only their bones and muscles but their ability to make decisions, analyze things, make conclusions, which is very good for their future.(296 words)57. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?Children should begin learning a foreign language as soon as they start school. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.Language is the best means of communication. In the modern globalization era it is not enough to be able to speak one language to communicate with the outside world. I strongly support the idea that children should begin learning a foreign language as soon as they start school. They faster become familiar with a strange language, improve their hearing ability to understand new words as time goes by and learn new words. In the following paragraphs I will list some reasons to support my position.First of all, if one wants to see outcome soon, one must start sooner. So, the early children begin to learn new language the better will be the result. Scientists say that a child does not confuse two different languages but learns them more effectively.Second of all, adults are often afraid to make mistakes when they are speaking in a new language. This fear is one of the biggest barriers for a person in his efforts to speak freely. Otherwise, children do not afraid of making grammatical mistakes because basically they just repeat words and sentences in the way they hear them. Also, children have a better chance to get rid of an accent. They faster get used to the right pronunciation and better feel the melody of a language. To sum up, I think that it is very essential for children to begin learning a foreign language in their early ages. It is brings many benefits such as great pronunciation. Also, it helps a child develop and gain more knowledge which is good for a long run.(264 words)58. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?Watching television is bad for children.Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion. Some parents believe that watching television is bad for their children. So, they try to restrict their children from watching TV. However, other parents think that there is nothing bad in watching TV. Personally, I think that watching TV brings children only benefits unless they spend in front of TV set less then a couple of hours daily. For the following reasons, which I will mention bellow, I believe that television plays an essential role in child's development.First of all, television helps a child to extent his or her range of interests. Children can find out many new things and make many exiting discoveries for themselves. In addition to。

Teacher, a person who you care, famous, neighbor, old person, my friend:I will describe a teacher who taught me when I was in the primary school. He was very friendly and kind-hearted person. No matter what trouble you were in he would always give you his hand. He was very patient with his students. I remember one thing very clearly. Once I made a big mistake. I thought he would be very angry with me. But to my surprise, he gave me a gentle persuasion and encouraged me with his smile. He was very famous for his teaching in the education scope and awarded many times because of his excellent performance. You know childhood is quite important for the growth of a child. The influence he imposed on me will keep me company through my whole life.52. childI will talk about the things about my brother. He was five years old. Although he is very little, he gives everyone around him a mixed feeling. He is a trouble-maker and always play tricks with others. I remember he put an artificial snake on his father’s bed a nd gave him a big jump. Besides this, he is very cute and kind-hearted. Once he brought back a lost dog that hurt in his leg. After his considerate care ,the dog recovered very soon. At that moment, he acted as a man as if he had taken some sense of responsibility. He often reminds me of my beautiful memory about the childhood which is a little far away. I hope my brother can maintain his nature and enjoy his time. After all, childhood is the most memorable period during the whole life.53. An activity in English class:When I was in senior high school my teacher assigned a task that we would prepare for a small drama in English in groups which consist of five people each. We would translate lines and rehearse on our own. You know, studying English is a boring thing to some degree. You must have a strong interest in it if you want to have a good grasp of it. That activity made me do it. And during the preparation, we not only improved our English very rapidly, but also learnt how to get along well and co-operate with others. Every group did not want to lag behind, so every member in one group tried their best and was very careful with his part. You can guess, in the end the activity achieved great success. It became an unforgettable memory during my tense and monotonous life of senior high school54. Advantages of studying English:I think there are many benefits if you have a good grasp of English. First, with the advent of globalization, we communicate and trade more and more with the people from other countries. You have to admit that English is the most preferred language in the world. If you speak English fluently, language barrier will be removed. You will be in a more favorable position in the future. Second, if you want to keep pace with the latest information, you must study English well. They are all written in English. Third, one language represents one culture, it will decide the way how you are looking at the world. Studying English will make you open-minded and have a diverse outlook of the world55. When to start to study English for children:I think children should study English as early as possible. Children have an innate ability to have a good grasp of one language; this ability will disappear step by step as he grows up. Some people say it will influence the learning of his mother tongue, I think it is no need to worry about it. After all he lives in an environment of speaking his native language56. English is useful if you work in a Chinese company:It depends on. With the advent of globalization, we trade more and more with other companies abroad. Many Chinese companies also have international business or have the strong wish to do it in the near future. If the case is like this, English will play a very important role. But if the company where you work only focuses on domestic trade, English is seemingly useless. But grasping another more skill is not definitely a bad thing I think.57. Second foreign languageI want to choose French. France is a country I like very much. And their romance, enthusiasm, tasty food and long history interest me deeply. If I can speak French well, I will have no difficulty when travel in France one day in future. Language barrier is the biggest problem if you want to have a clearer picture about one country58. ShoppingI like shopping in the supermarket. because there are a wide variety of goods on the shelf. The beautiful goods themselves are beautiful scenery for me. even if I buy nothing. It is also a good time traveling around the shelves. In addition, the price of the goods there is reasonable. For a student, buying something in the supermarket is very economical. I go to the supermarket once a week generally59. Business:I want to open a small shop selling the discs about the films and music. because they are my favorite. Films can let me experience different life and music can give me a light mood and a refreshing spirit. And the combination of my work and interest is the ideal way for me to spend my life. Maybe you think my ambition is too small. But I like it, I think that is enough. I think my shop should be located in one neighborhood where many young white collars live. Their living tempo is fast and working pressure is great. They also like to buy or rent some discs to enjoy after a long day’s work. In addition, the rent of this kind of house should be reasonable, because it does not belong to the downtownYou know, most of the people don’t have a great sum of money. They can’t afford to set up a big business. And small business does not occupy too much money and more importantly, it is flexible. If the consumption trend changes, it is easy for people to give up one and engage in another. Small businesses in china are developing very fast. I think they will have a very bright future. You know china is a developing country and has a vast market potential. If you set up a small business here, you don’t need to worry about the sales unless you are poor at the management. However, the biggest problem for small business, I think, is the funding shortage. As long as you want to develop, you have to face this difficulty. Banks are unwilling to lend money to small businesses. And they also demand enough mortgages. The cost of borrowing money from other channels is relatively much higher. Maybe, vicious competition is another problem they will face.I think the business about women and children has a bright future. In china, women normally take the charge of finance in their family and parents spend their money on children without any hesitation, even if the spending goes beyond their financial ability. And women are unreasonable consumers. As long as they like, they will buy at once, no matter if the thing is practical or not. think besides a sharp eye for fashionable trend and a good ability of management, how to communicate with others is also very important. During your business, you should get along with local officials, customers and people from all walks of life. Doing business means handling all kinds of social relationship. They are both important; knowledge will lay a solid foundation for you to grasp practical experience. It can help you absorb the essence of predecessors and give you theoretical guidance. But without practical experience you are only a bookworm. There is always something you can not learn from books.I think no matter which country you are in, grasping some skill is very important. With the increasing pace of the society and technology, young people have to upgrade their knowledge and go for future study, or they will fall behind the times. I think in future computer and financial skill will play a more and more important role. We live in a computer-literate world. Without it, we find doing something is next to being impossible. And with the increasing wealth people possess, how to manage your money well and how to utilize it to earn more is a basic skill for people to master. We often learn some academic knowledge and practical skill from the school and some social skills and an ability to distinguish right from wrong from parents. The job needs expertise andsome know how will gets relatively higher salary and the job had better be closely bound up with people’s daily life, such as doctors, lawyer and teachers and so on.60. A story heard in your childhoodI read a folk tale about the fis herman and his wife. One day the fisherman saved a fish’s life. The fish promised him it could realize any wish he wanted. His wife was a very greedy woman at first she just wanted a hut, then a big house, then a palace, and she wanted to be the king, the gods, even wanted the sun and the moon rose at the same time. You can imagine the ending of the story, she returned to her original place at last. This story impressed me very deeply. The greed of the humans is limitless, how to control your desire well is the thing we must understand. My father told me this story when I was very young.I think most of the parents will tell some stories to their children. This practice is worthwhile. Children are immature and innocent. Through stories, they can learn some sense and have an ability of distinguishing right from wrong. The stories lead them on the right track and shape them into responsible citizen in the future. In my childhood, the roles of Tom and Jerry are most popular. They not only bring some laughter, but also something deeper behind the stories.61. FilmsFilms have a far-reaching impact on social development. Some films reflect social important changes and revolutions. Some films predict future direction and potential threats and disasters; some films offer people a light mood and refreshing spirit. Some films teach people some senses which often throw them into deep thinking. For young children, because they are immature and naive, they have no enough ability to distinguish right from wrong. Their parents should take the responsibility for selecting suitable programs for them. You know some programs are full of violence, sex and bloody scenes. These are very harmful to their moral.Every child loves animals. They are lovely and cute. They make children laugh loudly and freely. Sometimes, children can see themselves from the animals.I think children like funny and interesting stories. If the story is about the animals, that’s better62. The experience of being late:Last semester, I had our experience of being late for class. Before I slept every night, I would set my alarm clock to wake me up the next morning. But that time my alarm clock had something wrong. And it was a coincidence that it was a gloomy day on that morning. When I woke up, I thought it was earlier. So I went on with my sleep. You can imagine in the end I missed the half of the class. When my teacher heard my explanation, he said nothing except on sentence: Remember seeing is not always believing. At that moment, he looked like a philosopher, this experience and my teacher’s words make me know something beyond my age.I think if people want to give some excuses for his being late, they will choose the reasons below. First, he gets some illness and feels a little uncomfortable. Second, the same thing happens to his family member and he has to spare some time to take care of him or her. Third, he has a very important thing to do or something which happens on the way to the school or company delays him. Something like that.I don’t like being late. I think in future punctuality will hold a very important position in people’s dating. You know the world is developing very fast. As an old saying goes “time is money” if you always come late, you will waste other’s time. It means disrespect to oth ers. Please try to be punctual each time. If you have some emergency, please call in advance. That’s better.Topic Area: Information Technology Topic: Surfing the NetQuestions: (Warm-up questions)It is easy for you to access the Internet? 雅思英语作文 study abroad 学生选择出国读书的好处更多吗?
More and more students are choosing to study at colleges and universities in a foreign country. Do the benefits of studying abroad outweigh the drawbacks?Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. You should write at least 250 words.Model Answer 1:Nowadays, more students choose to study abroad than ever before. While there are good benefits in studying in a foreign country, I believe that the drawbacks outweigh the positive impacts this trend has. On the one hand, there are many benefits of studying abroad. Firstly, overseas students become more independent by living alone in foreign country. For instance, they are responsible for cleaning, cooking, and paying bills. Secondly, moving to other countries can broaden students’ horizons. They get exposed to different cultures and customs and gain knowledge about them. Also, overseas students learn foreign languages to cope with the new culture they involved in. Finally, foreign institutions offer better courses for students .The qualification gained open the door to get better job opportunities with high salaries. On the other hand, I would argue that studying abroad has more negative impacts than the positive one.One problem is that it can affect students psychologically. Studying alone in an unfamiliar culture can lead to homesickness or even depression. Also, this different culture may lead to cultu re shock which may affect the student’s performance. Another drawback of studying overseas is that students can experience some problems with paperwork like visa permit and may struggle to find suitable accommodation and paying their bills. This may add more pressure on the students and interrupt their studying. Furthermore, the language barrier may exacerbate the situation. Studying in a foreign language is a difficult task to many students andif they failed to master the language and communication skill, this may lead to the isolation from the community and might cause a failure in studying. In conclusion, the drawback of studying abroad outweighs the benefit and this decision needs more assessment from the students.Model Answer 2:It is true that the number of students who choose to study overseas has increased rapidly in the past few years. Studying in a foreign country has its own positive and negative sides, but I personally believe that it has more benefits for the students themselves. On the one hand, some believe that the choice of studying abroad have some disadvantages. One of the reasons is that studying overseas will cost more than studying in the home country. It is necessary for parents to spend more money on airplane tickets, accommodations, foods and clothes, besides tuition fees and uniforms. Another reason is that students might be unfamiliar and uncomfortable with the culture, environment and language of the new country. As a consequence, it might have a negativeeffect on their mental condition and academic performance. Adopting in a new environment often hampers the natural flow of study for many students and some students do not continue their study to earn money when they are abroad. On the other hand, another group of people think that studying in another country brings so many positive aspects for the students themselves. Firstly, by studying in a new country, students will have a chance to learn new languages and new cultures. Secondly, students will learn about how to live independently, like cleaning their own rooms or doing the laundry bythemselves. Thirdly, they could make new friends with people from other countries and get familiar with multicultural environments. Lastly, it is a fact that in certain countries, international graduate certificate gives additional values when the students search for jobs.In conclusion, it is undeniable that the preference of studying in a foreign country has its own benefits and drawbacks. Despite all the disadvantages, I believe that it has more advantages for the students themselves, therefore young people should be encouraged to study in a new country. Although some of themmight have difficulties with the fees, but many international scholarships are offered these days.。

雅思作文
退休:①Companies should encourage old employees (55 years old) to retire, in order to give opportunities to the new generation. To what extent do you agree or disagree?Nowadays, plenty of employees who are more than 55 years old must retire because of company policy; therefore, many people think that the development of a company cannot be separated from the number of young employees. The above point is certainly true; this essay will outline three reasons. The main reason is that plenty of young employees mean that the company is infused with lots of young blood. With the development of technology, more and more new technological products have been developed. The new generation masters advanced technology and have the energy to exploit. They have learned lots of knowledge in the university; therefore it is definitely useful for the development of companies.Another reason is that old employees cannot adapt themselves to the rapid pace. Old employees find it difficult to learn new things rapidly. With their limited physical strength, they are not capable of heavy manual work. So old employees are not a patch on young employees, it means not only intellect but also physical strength.Last but not the least reason is that old employees have already worked for more than half of their lifetime, so they should retire to enjoy life. The old employees have already paid out too much in order to look after their families and careers. So they should pursue their hobbies. In conclusion, old employees shouldn’t continue working for themselves. Moreover, advancement of society needs a new generation.②You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.In some countries the average worker is obliged to retire at the age of 50, while in others people can work until they are 65 or 70. Meanwhile, we see some politicians enjoying power well into their eighties. Clearly, there is little agreement on an appropriate retirement age.Until what age do you think people should be encouraged to remain in paid employment? Give reasons for your answer. You should write at least 250 words. You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.Sample AnswerMandatory retirement age varies from society to society, perhaps a reflection of economics, population pressures or simply value systems. Indeed, retirement at 50 can probably be as easily justified as that at 70. It is my belief, however, that the longer an able person is allowed to work, the better for both the individual worker and the employer.Chronological age is not always a true indicator of ability. While some 65_year_olds may not perform as well as they did in their past, many workers at this age do just as well or better than they used to. People's suitability for a position should be a reflection of their performance in the job, rather than the number of wrinkles or grey hairs they have. Employers concerned about the increasing age of theiremployees need only observe their work records. Those doing poorly may be asked to retire, but those as yet unaffected by age should stay on. Indeed, it would appear economical for an organisation to retain its older employees when possible rather than spend time and money on training new workers.Remaining in one's job for as long as one is able makes sense as life expectancies increase around the world. As people live longer, they contribute more to society in the form of meaningful work. But they are also in need of income for a longer period, so a mandatory retirement age of 55 for someone who is statistically likely to live to 77 becomes increasingly difficult to justify. Thus, workers who can still demonstrate their capacity to carry out their work should not be asked to retire simply because they have reached a certain age. Societies that insist on early retirement may do well to look again at their policies.出国:①Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of studying abroad/working abroad for a period of time.随着社会的快速发展,人类已经进入了信息爆炸的时代。

就业选择问题的英语作文篇1Do You Prefer High Salary or A Promising Job?When it comes to the choice of career, some people prefer the job with high salary. Why?Their reasons run as following: to begin with, high salary can bring them happy life; in addition, with high salary, they can do whatever they want. But some others prefer to choose a job with promising future. They base their choice on the following reasons: on one hand, a promising job itself means a raise and promotion in the future; on another hand, job with a bright future will bring them honor and sense of pride. As for me, if I'm left to make the choice, I'll not hesitate to choose a promising job. First of all, I appreciate the honor and challenge it brings to me. At the same time, if I work hard, it will offer me a lot of opportunities including high salary, good position, etc.就业选择问题的英语作文篇2What's your favoured job after your graduation? What's your career planafter working in a company? Both of the questions are related with universitystudents' seeking jobs problems. It's very tough when confront with thosequestions. As a junior/senior student,I would love to say something asfollowing:A part of students are aim too high. They always want to find easy andcomfortable jobs with high salary. But, they neglect they are just undergraduateswho lack of real experience in a company. Aim too high but lack of realexperience leads them to be frustrated:they can't find their suitable jobs andare not interested low-salary jobs. It's a real situation in our currentsociety. The best solution is that our undergraduates should change their minds. The new minds is that to be capable before getting high salary. There is also a issue should be pay attention to. Some advertisementssay:"Only men available". That's gender discrimination which couldn't be occuredin the modern society. With the development of our society, our women 's abilityare also enhancing. Some women even can do some jobs which men couldn't do well. It' not easy to solve the gender discrimination. It needs our government's help, our government should do some propaganda about gender eq equal and make somerules for the companies.就业选择问题的英语作文篇3College students difficult employment is both the subjective reason, also has the objective cause, sum up, there are several factors affecting the college students' employment, narrow the rational flow of talent to prevent college students diminishes their chances of employment. The reporter understands in an interview some of the colleges and universities in hebei province, some places in order to retain talent, do not allow the water into the stay, to limit outside to the local employment for college students, college students job losses. The students of medical college students in hebei university of science and technology, told reporters he contact with several large pharmaceuticalproduction enterprises in shandong province, there are two companies are willing to receive, but due to the province index limits, he can't to shandong pharmaceutical factory jobs, are still not to carry out the work unit. Some university teachers told reporters that it is good to retain talent and recruit talent in some places, but it is not appropriate to restrict the flow. They hope that the government will not limit the employment of college students, but should focus on the employment service for college students. The high expectation of employment has caused many college students to miss out on employment opportunities. College students hope to be able to were employed to treatment, good working environment, this itself is understandable, but some college students cannot correct view of oneself and have high expectations for employment is somewhat impractical. Wang yuesen, deputy secretary of the party committee of shijiazhuang railway academy, said that college students should not blindly improve their employment goals, but should be based on their own work.In addition, college students are reluctant to leave their hometown for employment, not willing to go to the primary employment and other factors, also affected some college students' timely employment. Both the relevant aspects and the college students themselves should face up to the current difficulties in the employment of college students and try to eliminate the obstacles that are not conducive to the employment of college students.就业选择问题的`英语作文篇4As we oil know, there are more and more laid-off workers in China now mainly because of the rapid changes in the economicreform. Among them are the old and the young, men and women, and even some well-educated graduates. What's more, with more and more workers being laid-off, lots of social problems have appeared. As a result, the issue of re-employment of the laid-off workers has become one of the hot topics and drawn much attention from governments at all levels. A number of solutions are being offered. First of all, re-training programs should be organized to help the laid-off workers to learn new skills to help them keep up with the changing society. Besides, our government should take some necessary measures to create more new opportunities of employment for these peopie. Finally, colleges and universities should reform their courses to adapt to the development of economy so as to provide qualified studens to meet the needs of society. In my opinion, solving the problem of re-employment of laid-off workers needs the effort of the whole society, including our government, the laid-off workers themselves and all those who are ready to offer their help, Moreover, the lay-off workers, especially the well-educated graduates, should lower their standards before looking for satisfying jobs.就业选择问题的英语作文篇5In recent years, college students find it increasingly difficult to get a job. It sounds strange since young college students are usually intelligent, well-educated and eager to bring their talent into full play. Then what underlies the strange phenomenon? There are several reasons for this. To begin with, nowadays college students aim too high. All they want are good jobs which could offer good salary, comfortable working conditions, high social status among others. Consequently, most college studentsare unwilling to accept vacant jobs they consider not good enough. Another reason is that there is a big gap between the majors some students study in school and the demands of vacant jobs. So companies think some students are not fit for the jobs.Solution to the problem requires efforts on both the society and the students. The companies should value the students, talent and knowledge while the latter should not merely aim at material gains. They should be down-toearth in building up their career. Furthermore, they should face their weak points so as to improve themselves and be more competent.就业选择问题的英语作文篇6With the competition in the job market becoming increasingly fierce for college graduates, some ambitious students have tried their hands at launching their own businesses. Over the years, there have been many successful cases of student entrepreneurship and such attempts should be encouraged and promoted by both the universities and the society at large.College students who start businesses are pioneers, among whom will be born China’s future business leaders. Faced with unknown challenges, they are audacious enough to embark on a perilous journey while most of their peers enjoy stable salaries by working as white-collars at high-end office buildings. Nevertheless, they are the masters of their own destiny and, exposed to many more uncertainties and setbacks, they develop perseverance, stamina and the indomitable spirit that are indispensible to all the great entrepreneurs. Even if they fail, they are not down; they keep exploring for new business opportunities and work tirelessly until they succeed. As people of vision, of individual initiative, of leadership, and of creativityand innovation, they represent the future and the hope of a nation. Not all college graduates are suitable for undertaking entrepreneurial projects. To launch a business, one needs to have a sound business idea, a viable business plan, the charisma to create a cohesive team where members make concerted efforts for a common objective, effective managerial skills, and above all, the courage to compete against powerful rivals and ultimately to prevail. The essential difference between the students who become civic servants in government organizations or employees at leading domestic or multinational companies and those who create their own businesses is that the former are docile followers whereas the latter are aggressive trailblazers. For this reason,business-launching college graduates are more admirable, and thus they command our deep respect.就业选择问题的英语作文篇7Many years ago, as China was poor and a lot of people believed that studying abroad was a good choice for them, because they not only could get the high degree, but also could find a job in foreign countries. Now the situation has changed, and many people choose to come back to China.According to a research, the number of students who go to study abroad is increasing since 2008, so as the number of students who return to China. It can be seem that more and more people pay attention to receive foreign education, but unlike people who decide to stay in foreign countries, now more young people have sensed the great market potential in China. The change inspires the young generation to develop their future career at home. We are so proud that our country isbecoming stronger all the time and many foreigners have come to China to seek for cooperation. What’s more, the world is crazy about learning mandarin, so as to find the chance to develop career here. There is no doubt that China’s economy is booming and the job market is favored by the world. We need to equip ourselves with all kinds of skills.就业选择问题的英语作文篇8Two meetings it is important in the spirit of the people's livelihood problem, the first is the employment problem of the people's livelihood of migrant workers employment and college students' employment is a top priority, all belong to the category of labor employment.Nowadays, it is increasingly difficult for college students to obtain employment, and the pressure of employment is becoming more and more important.1. Consider China's basic national conditions. China has more than 1.3 billion people, more than 800 million farmers and more than 6 million college graduates every year. And jobs are far too big for such a large number of jobs. Therefore, the employment situation of college students is more serious every year. The idea is fundamental. Now graduate employment goal is aimed at those who pay high, stable life of civil servants, enterprises and institutions, state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, etc., and a few choose to employment at the grassroots level to the small and medium-sized enterprises and the non-public sector of the job. In this way, it has produced graduates who have no business, no high, low and low contradictions.3. According to the popularization of college education, more and more university, does not pay attention to optimize the structure of discipline, carelessly for cultivating students' employment market, lead to set up some irrelevant subjects, the graduate employment skills, no expertise, has only embarrassing phenomena of the graduation certificate.4. National local administrative departments, enterprises and institutions, state-owned enterprises, such as personnel illiquid, openness, upgrade slow, causes the ability to absorb fresh blood, absorb foreign personnel ability is poor.To sum up, the employment pressure of college students is increasing and the employment situation is becoming more and more serious. Combined with the financial crisis, the economic downturn, the company's layoffs, and the layoffs of employees, this year, 20 million migrant workers and 6 million college graduates compete for jobs. It can be seen that the employment pressure is large and the situation is serious.Graduation is equal to unemployment, which is not unreasonable. Nowadays, as a college student, how can I achieve the employment I want and find the position I am satisfied with?I think there are some Suggestions:First of all, we should strive to improve our knowledge in all aspects, improve our own shortcomings and improve our core competitiveness. As the saying goes, opportunity is reserved for those who are prepared. So we need to be prepared to wait for an opportunity. Secondly, for its own reasons, it is necessary to select and transfer students, civil servants, career establishment, village officials, etc., to go into politics. The lower base strengthens oneself to exercise, the growth social experience. Widespread participation in social recruitment, unit recruitment, from basic level, from small start, storing energy continuously, togain better jobs and to develop his skills good foundation in the end, entrepreneurship. You can apply for a small loan from the bank, give play to your own initiative and carry out your own sky. 就业选择问题的英语作文篇9Personally speaking, influenced by the inevitable result of social advancement, the phenomenon of starting a career after graduation has been a prevalent tendency in our society. And it also has been a hot topic among the individuals. As for me, I deem that starting a career after graduation has numerous challenges .When it comes to the challenges when we start a career after gradution, the driving challenges can be summarized as below. For one thing , we have to solve the problem of money, because it is the base of a successful career. For another, the firece competition which we confront with may be a kind of difficulty for every student.I think starting a career after graduation has numerous challenges to be solved, and positive attitude and careful consideration are essential for students.就业选择问题的英语作文篇10When we read newspapers, our attention is always attracted by increasing unemployment rate in young graduates who are leaving college. In my opinion, there are many causes for this disquieting phenomenon and we should try to solve the problem. Most companies would rather employ a low-educational specialized worker than a this-years graduate from a well-known university. For companies, they are more likely to choose the candidates with rich working experience. Apparently enough, the training for young graduates usually costs them a large quantity of time and money. In addition, the current education systembrings on a lot of bookworms who are adept in theoretical but not practical knowledge. Therefore, it is hard for those graduates to complete the practical assignments successfully and smoothly. This is one major reason why many graduates find it to find suitable jobs.An un-mandatory retirement age is another factor leading to the youth unemployment for college graduates. Along with the improving of working efficiency, proficient employees with rich and extensive working experience get retired at a much later age. In this case, for young graduates, there are fewer chances to get access to the jobs taken up by the older and more experienced. 就业选择问题的英语作文篇11It has always been a major concern for people that college students have difficulty in finding ideal jobs they want. Some people say that students lack of social experience and most companies are reluctant to hire graduates without practical experience. Others hold that almost all graduates think that they deserve a higher salary than their ability. From my point of view, I think students should pay attention to enrich their social experience by doing some fundamental work rather than just expecting a high salary.First, most students are unwilling to do the most fundamental job at the very beginning. Lacking of experience is a rather significant reality for graduates. However, most graduates think that the fundamental job neither can bring them money nor benefit, so they won’t choose to do it. As a result of this, most students just miss the chance of being a potential figure in a certain field.Second, most companies are too strict to the graduates. For example, some companies think that students without practicalexperience won’t conform to their position need, so they refuse the graduates at the first time. There are some companies make severe requirements for students, such as certain height, just male or female, graduate from national famous university, get certain certificate and so on. It is strange that these companies should have these conditions for students. Anyone could be a genius in a certain area, so it may be true that these companies may miss some talents.Third, China is a country with a huge population, which leads to a rather fierce competition among students. However, limited job requirement and a great numbers of students flocking into job market at almost the same time will increase the unemployment rate of students. In conclusion, not only the students themselves have limited ability to get a better paid job, but also, the social environment aggravates the difficulty of finding an ideal job. As a result, graduates should not only focus on improve their capacity of handling things but also learn to adjust their vision to find new chance to lead a better life.。

Should students be encouraged to study abroad as early as possible?
About studying abroad, parents often have a hard time deciding on the appropriate time to send their children abroad. Some people suggest that children should study abroad as early as possible, while others think that they should go abroad when they are mature enough. After weighing up the pros and cons of each idea, I agree with the former when the two come to conflict.
To begin with, studying abroad earlier can cultivate teenagers' ability to live independently and their characters. Teenagers have to deal with many problems when they study abroad. They have to learn how to be accustomed to a new environment and how to get along with the teachers and classmates. During their study, they can acquire some interpersonal skills.
What's more, studying abroad can provide a good language environment to teenagers and make it easy to pick up a language. Foreign language is a tool employed to communicate with each other. It can remove language barrier and make international cooperation much easier.
However, each leaf has two sides of its own. We should never lose sight of the risks of overseas studying. To begin with, sending
children to study abroad is a heavy financial strain on many families. The tuition fees are extremely high because they lack supports of local government. Furthermore, they have to deal with many unexpected hardships by living away from their parents and homeland. For example, medical insurance, daily foods, clothes, rents and transportation can generate a large amount of living expenses. They need to depend on their parents' overseas monthly payments for continuing their studies.
To sum up, the advantages of studying abroad outweigh the disadvantages greatly. We encourage students study abroad. When they accomplish their curriculum, they can make more contributions to the construction of our society.。
