Good morning, ladies and gentlemen!It’s my great honor to stand here to present my teaching ideas. The teaching plan includes the following eight parts. They are Teaching material, Teaching aims, Key and difficult points, Students analysis, Teaching and learning methods, Teaching aids, Teaching procedure and Blackboard design.1. Now, please allow me to show you the first part: teaching materials. The teaching materials include 2 parts: the textbook and the status and functions. It’s about section A of Unit 8 “Is there a post office near here? ”of grade 7 in junior middle school.For the status and functions, this textbook “Go for it” is designed to cultivate Ss’ overall abilities including linguistic, cultural and social ones. And it is also designed with the aim of making Ss use English to exchange ideas, fulfill certain tasks and solve practical problems.2. Let’s come to the 2nd part, teaching aims. According to the new national curriculum, teaching aims are composed of three aspects: Knowledge aims, Ability aims and Emotion aims. Knowledge aims: I’ll enable Ss to have a good command of the new words and target sentences, and teach Ss how to ask for and give directions on the street with the target sentences.Ability aims: I’ll cultivate Ss’ ability of communication, cooperation and exploration to enable them to express their opinions by using the target sentences.As for the Emotion aims: By asking for and giving about directions to people, Ss learn to help others , also they would enjoy the feeling of being helpful. By the way, they build harmonious relationship with neighbors.3. OK, let’s turn to the 3rd part,key and difficult points. The key points of this section are to develop Ss’ linguistic competence, lead students to use new words and expressions about directions , There be structure, Where questions and Prepositions of place. The difficult point is Prepositions of place.4. Analysis of the students: Students of grade 7 in junior middle school are possessing the qualities of great curiosity & learning enthusiasm as well as cooperative spirit, which brings a lot benefits to my organizing teaching.5, Let's go to the 5th part, teaching and learning methods. For teaching methods, the new national curriculum advocates that language is for communication, English teaching should lay special emphasis on development of Ss. For this purpose, I’ll mainly adopt 3 teaching methods. They are task-based language teaching, communicative language teaching and audio-visualteaching. Here I’ll mainly talk about Task-based language teaching, that is to say, in my class I’ll design different activities and get Ss to fulfill the tasks. In that way, Ss will learn to expe rience and explore to improve their overall abilities. I’ll design such a situation in class. I’ll sa y like this: boys and girls, all eyes on me, imagine that you’re on a street in America, you need to find a hotel but you’re new there. How are you going to solve the problem?... For learning methods, I'll adopt cooperative learning and autonomous learning. Ss in grade 7 have mastered a certain basic knowledge of English, and they still keep their curiosity on something new. According to this situation, in this unit I will design some activities to help Ss to develop their learning strategies.6. About teaching aids. I'll mainly use multimedia to help perform the class.7. Now I’ll deal with the most important part, teaching procedure. In this part I’ll arrange 7 steps: warm-up, lead in, presentation, practice, production, summary and homework. First, warm up. We’ll first give each other greetings, then I’ll guide students review what we learned in the last class, and remind them to hand in their homework; After the review, we will move on to step 2, lead-in. I’ll design a situation like this:3they are new in America, being in great need finding a hotel to live in. The situation can inspire students to become active; Then we go to the step 3, presentation. I'll present a picture of buildings on city streets. The students are curious about the new knowledge and want to master them; so next we enter step 4, practice. In this part, I'll guide Ss to practice listening, speaking, reading and writing. For listening part, I read names of the buildings, students listen and circle the places they hear; For speaking part, students read the conversation with partner, then ask and answer questions about other places in the picture; For reading part, I designed a small reading comprehension, there’re 6 sentences and 6 pictures, students are asked to match the sentences with the pictures; For writing part, I'll play a tape, students listen and fill in the blanks with the words in the box. Step 5, production. Students role-play the conversation on P44. Step 6, summary. After the role- play, the whole class will enter the conclusion time. I’ll summarize the grammar points in this class. Step 7, homework. I’ll give Ss 2 homework, one is oral work and the other is paper work. For oral work: when they meet foreigners asking for directions on the street, they can help them with the knowledge they learned today. For paper work: students should fulfill the exercise part section B on page 46-48.8. lastly, let’s come to the 8th part, blackboard design. I design the blackboard in this way: I’ll write some key words and phrases on the left, and key sentence patterns on the right. So that it will be clear for Ss to learn them.Like teacher, like students.
