据悉，英国圣安德鲁斯大学校长（University of St Andrews）露易丝·理查森教授（Prof
Louise Richardson）荣获牛津大学（University of Oxford）提名为执行校长，或将成为
牛津史上首位女性执行校长。
理查森教授2009年加入圣安德鲁斯大学，之前在美国哈佛大学（Harvard University）
担任要职。
如果她的提名正式获得通过、成为第272任牛津大学校长（Vice-Chancellor，或译副
校长），她将成为该校建校将近8个世纪以来首位女性校长。
360教育集团介绍说，理查森将取代即将前往纽约大学（New York University）就职
的牛津大学校长安德鲁·汉米尔顿教授（Prof Andrew Hamilton）。
牛津大学在1230年任命首任校长，直到现在历任校长都是男性。
由牛津大学名誉校长（Chancellor）、曾担任末代港督的彭定康勋爵（Lord Patten）
主持的提名委员会做出提名理查森的决定。
这一决定将必须获得牛津大学议会（congregation），即最高权力机构批准后才能实行。
理查森教授将于2016年1月正式就任。
历史悠久的牛津大学是世界级知名学府
“学术价值”
彭定康勋爵表示，提名委员会对于理查森坚定致力于“学术价值”和她作为“教育领袖”
的经历“印象深刻”。
作为一位政治学家，理查森的学术专长领域是安全和恐怖主义。美国9/11袭击后她出
版过恐怖主义和反恐的专著。
理查森教授出生在爱尔兰，在该国首都都柏林三一学院（Trinity College）受教育，
也拥有美国加州大学洛杉矶分校（UCLA）和哈佛大学的学位。
“牛津大学是世界上最伟大的高校之一，在对高等教育来说激动人心的时刻获得领导这
一杰出学府的机会我深感荣幸”，理查森表示。
牛津大学将成为任命女性校长的最新一家著名高校。
哈佛大学和伦敦帝国理工大学（Imperial CollegeLondon）目前的校长都是女性。
但是，《泰晤士报高等教育专刊》强调，全球排在前200名的高校中，只有七分之一的
学校由女校长领导。
学生反响：
牛津大学东方学系硕士生涂荔文在接受电话采访时表示，昨天晚上收到校方群发给学生
的电子邮件，内容包括理查森教授的简介。
涂荔文此前对理查森不是很了解，看了介绍之后觉得她的背景挺多元的，挺厉害，是不
是牛津有改革的信号发出来，传达一个新风气。
前段时间，学校还曾组织学生投票，对要不要保留考试时穿长袍做出表决，可能也在做
出改革的尝试。
据了解，在牛津大学东亚研究系，男性占多数，普通教师和决策层都是如此。
小涂说：“前任校长在中英高校交流做了很多贡献，每年都去中国一些城市交流；希望
新校长上任之后，能更进一步促进两国在学术、经济、文化交流的发展”。
牛津大学化学系硕士生杨佳瑜告诉我们，她所在的系，讲师、教授大部分都是男性，博
士生和博士后也是以男性居多，但其它本科生的性别比例比较平衡，男生女生人数大致相当。
小杨觉得新校长理查森的背景挺有意思，出生爱尔兰，在美国学习、工作，又在苏格兰
工作过。
杨佳瑜表示，牛津大学近年来都有改革的意愿，想试水，但是遇到的阻力比较大，效果
不甚很明显。“女校长就任之后，可能会有一些新政策出台。”
“我此前在英国读高中时发现，很多家庭条件一般的学生有学术能力申请牛津或剑桥，
但有人不愿意申请，可能担心不适合自己；如果新校长上任，之后可能会促进学生多元化，
鼓励更多人报名”，她说。
