Therefore, the Chinese people, who have inherited 5000 years of cultural virtues, have designated the Double Ninth Festival as the festival for the elderly. Respecting the elderly is a virtue and a civilization. What should we do for our grandparents on this special day?Every day, Grandpa and grandma are waiting at the school gate; Walking around the vegetable market, carrying big and small bags are grandparents; In the park, it’s grandparents who push strollers and coax children to sleep... Not to mention the Spring Festival. When we eat melon seeds on the sofa and watch TV, it’s always grandparents who are busy in the kitchen. Alas! Today, it’s my grandparents’own festival. I have to make them relaxed. With a little abacus in my heart,I walked down the stairsBefore coming to the kitchen, there was “smoke curling”, and grandpa was busy preparing delicious dishes for us in the evening. Grandma walked back and forth with her crying little cousin, humming constantly. Seeing this, I couldn’t help feeling sad. I thought: Grandpa and grandma have been bitter and tired all their lives. They should have enjoyed happiness, but now they don’t stop for our family. No wonder they often have low back pain! So I quickly finished dinner, helped my mother wash the dishes, and quickly ran to the second floor. I happened to see my grandparents sitting on the sofa to rest. I suddenly found that my grandparents’weather beaten and wrinkled faces were so tired. I walked over gently and quietly helped my grandparents beat their backs. After a while, help Grandpa hammer here and press there; After a while, I pressed my grandmother here and pinched her there... Looking at my solemn appearance, my grandparents couldn’t help smiling for a long time“ The most beautiful is the sunset red, warm and calm... “In an instant, I took this touching scene with my soul camera. Isn’t the smile of my grandparents the most beautiful” sunset red “?”I am old and people are old, and I am young and people are young.” I really should thank you for such a traditional festival for the elderly, which gives us time and opportunity to honor the elderly and feel family affection. Friends, don’t care about the form of love, let alone express your mind at the festival. Let’s start from now on, from every moment! To be kind to the old is to be kind to ourselves.2.描写重阳节英语作文The sun converged its dazzling light, turned into a golden CD, and slowly fell down the mountain. The cloudless sky was blue, like a clear sky lake. The sky is full of red clouds, as if the heavenly daughter scattered a red dress. Walking on the path home, thinking about the Thanksgiving activities that the teacher asked us to carry out. At the moment, the words the teacher taught us linger in my mind: “be filial to your elders and be a grateful child.”right! Today is the ninth day of the ninth lunar month. It is the Double Ninth Festival, also known as the old man’s day. Thinking of Grandpa’s vicissitudes of life and his gray temples, this is the trace left by the ruthless years! Usually, grandpa loves me so much that he always regards me as the apple of his eye. Heis afraid to drop it in his hand and melt it in his mouth. However, I have never done anything for Grandpa. Should I be grateful to Grandpa, repay grandpa and be filial to Grandpa? By the way, grandpa has the habit of reading newspapers while drinking tea every night. How happy Grandpa would be if I made a cup of tea for grandpa! After dinner, Grandpa still sat on the sofa reading the newspaper as usual. I hurried into the kitchen, boiled a pot of boiling water, took out a teacup, put it into grandpa’s favorite Dahongpao, and then made it with boiling water. Suddenly, a faint fragrance came to my nostrils. It’s so fragrant. No wonder grandpa likes drinking Dahongpao so much! I carefully carried the tea cup to Grandpa and said respectfully, “Grandpa, please have tea!” Grandpa raised his head and looked at me in surprise: “granddaughter made me tea!” I smiled and said, “yes, Grandpa, drink tea quickly! If you don’t drink any more, the tea will be cold“ Grandpa quickly put down the newspaper, took the tea cup in my hand, put it to his mouth, narrowed his eyes and took a deep breath: “it’s really fragrant! Really fragrant... “Grandpa took a sip gently, thumbed up and praised:”good tea! Good tea“ With that, grandpa put down his tea cup, pinched my little nose, smiled andsaid, “today, the sun is coming out from the West! My granddaughter made me a teahouse! “ Oh, Grandpa, you usually love me so much, but I haven’t done anything for you. Today is Double Ninth Festival. I just want to take this opportunity to honor you“ Grandpa was so happy that he couldn’t close his mouth. His smiling eyes narrowed into a line. My heart was happy and I had an unspeakable excitement.Outside the window, the wind gently shakes the branches and leaves whisper. They dance beautifully in the wind, rustling like a string of notes of love, playing the most harmonious and wonderful chapter of life3.描写重阳节英语作文Today is the Double Ninth Festival, but I didn’t know it when I went out this morning. In this way, as usual, I got on the bus to school. On the way, I found that today seemed very lively. Some old people lined up, beating drums and holding stools, walking happily under the drum of “Bang... Bang...”. The bus was very lively. Some are talking cordially; Some were fascinated by the words “wish the elderly good health” written in front of the bus andshowed a smile. I politely asked an old lady, “grandma, what day is it today?”“ Today is the Double Ninth Festival. “ The old lady answered slowly with a sense of pride. At this time, I unknowingly thought of my grandfather. I thought of his kind smile and warm embrace. He gave me a happy childhood. I remember every time grandpa went out, I was like a “little tail”inseparable from Grandpa. In the evening, we came to the camphor tree on Renmin Road to listen to the old people playing erhu. Some people simply danced with music. Grandpa hummed while learning, sang and laughed.I was also jumping and jumping. I was very happy!Grandpa gave me a happy childhood. Grandpa left. Before he died, he said to me, “study hard and make progress every day.”Inspired by this sentence, I worked hard to learn so that my grandfather under Jiuquan could rest in peace. Now, there are only grandma around me. I must be filial to grandma and make her life happier! Thank you for letting me know how to be filial to the old people on the Double Ninth Festival, which makes me understand so much!描写重阳节英语作文【三篇】.doc。

I immediately agreed with my mother. I picked up the broom and began to sweep the stairs. My mother said, "when sweeping the stairs, people should stand on it and sweep down." I did what my mother said and finally cleaned the stairs. My mother brought a bucket of water. I asked my mother what she was doing? My mother said, "after cleaning, I need to wash it with water." so my mother sprinkled a bucket of water on the stairs and watched the water roll from the first step to the second step and from the second step to the third step... It's like a waterfall. It's very beautiful. In the afternoon, the water on the stairs dried up. I think my grandparents next door must be very happy to see it. Looking at the cleaned stairs, I have a trace of sweetness in my heart.。

Every year on the 9th day of the 9th lunar month, my family gets together to celebrate this special Chinese holiday. It's one of my favorite days because we get to do all sorts of fun activities together. The day started off pretty ordinary, with me waking up to the delicious smells of mom cooking a huge breakfast. Dad was already up, reading the newspaper and sipping tea. My little brother Bao Bao was still fast asleep, snoring away. After gulping down a few steaming hot dumplings, I raced outside to help my grandparents prepare for the day's festivities.Grandma was in the courtyard, carefully arranging freshly picked chrysanthemums into a beautiful floral display. "Xiao Peng, come here and help an old lady out," she called out with a warm smile. Grandpa was busy tidying up the area, sweeping away leaves and stray petals. I grabbed the extra vases and gotto work alongside Grandma, breathing in the bright, invigorating scent of the yellow and white chrysanthemum blossoms."The chrysanthemums symbolize longevity," Grandma explained. "We decorate with them for Double Ninth to wish for a long, healthy life." As we placed the last vase, she gave me a little wink. "Maybe they'll help this old woman live to be a hundred!"Soon the entire family had gathered together, all pitching in to get everything ready. Aunties were in the kitchen, preparing huge platefuls of double ninth delicacies like crispy fried taro cakes and sweet sesame seed balls. Uncles were stringing up colorful lanterns and hanging decorations. Little cousins ran around underfoot, giggling and playing tag. The buzz of chatter and laughter filled the air. After all the preparations were complete, it was finally time for the main event - climbing hills! We piled into cars and headed off to the nearby mountains. I was literally bouncing with excitement during the drive. Climbing hills is the quintessential double ninth activity, symbolizing making it through life's uphill battles. When we arrived, I raced on ahead with Bao Bao and my cousins, scampering up the winding trails. The fresh mountain airwas absolutely invigorating. Birds trilled cheerfully from the trees, while squirrels and chipmunks skittered about. We stopped to catch our breath at a lovely pavilion perched on a cliff's edge, overlooking a sparkling river down below. What an amazing view! The adults soon caught up, some looking a bit winded from the climb. But Grandma and Grandpa were still going strong, trudging up at a steady pace with their walking sticks. I have to admit, I was pretty impressed by their stamina! At the summit, everyone took out the bamboo baskets we'd brought, unpacking a delicious outdoor feast. We spread out blankets and settled down for a scenic picnic lunch. I happily munched on taro cakes, sesame seed balls, and other delectable snacks, gazing out over the gorgeous mountain vistas. Despite being so high up, I felt completely at peace and content, surrounded by my wonderful family. After our tummies were full, the real fun began! Grandpa taught us an ancient game where we tossed a pomelo back and forth, keeping it aloft as long as possible. We ran around chasing each other, occasionally whacking the pomelo way too hard and watching it go soaring off into the bushes. Every time that happened, we all dissolved into uncontrolled laughter. As the sun slowly began to set, we made our way back down the mountain, a bit footsore but still grinning from ear to ear. Back home, we sat around outside, gazing up at the twilight sky and telling stories over steaming cups of chrysanthemum tea. When it grew too dark to see, we lit篇2A Delightful Chongyang Festival DayHi there! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. Today is the Chongyang Festival, which is also called the Double Ninth Festival. It's one of my favorite holidays because there are so many fun traditions and yummy foods involved! Let me tell you all about how I spent this special day.The morning started off quite chilly, which is normal for early autumn here. I bundled up in my warmest sweater and joined my parents in the living room. On the coffee table was a big tray filled with all sorts of goodies - jujube fruits, chestnuts, taro, peanuts, and more! My mom explained that it's a Chongyang tradition to eat these treats, especially jujubes and chestnuts, because they are associated with luck and longevity.I couldn't wait to dig in, but first we had to follow another custom. My dad led us through the ritual of "chrysanthemumbathing." This doesn't actually involve getting in the bathtub! Instead, we used a small bundle of chrysanthemum flowers to gently pat our faces and bodies. The sweet floral scent was so refreshing. Grandma says the chrysanthemum bath helps ward off colds and illnesses during the changing seasons. Once we finished, I happily gobbled up handfuls of the delicious snacks on the tray. After our morning rituals, we headed outside to enjoy the beautiful autumn scenery. The trees were afire with vibrant red, orange, and yellow leaves. My parents pointed out the tall chrysanthemum plants blooming in our neighbor's garden. Chrysanthemums are the symbolic flower of the Chongyang Festival because they bloom most vibrantly in this season. Their bright yellow, white, and purple petals looked so pretty contrasted against the changing foliage. As we strolled through the park nearby, I noticed lots of other families were out as well, also admiring the colorful fall scenery. Some people were flying kites adorned with Chinese calligraphy characters for luck and prosperity. The breeze made the kites dance and swirl high up in the blue sky. An elderly man approached us selling sprigs of dogwood leaves. These leaves with their distinctive claw shapes are another Chongyang symbolbecause they help "greet and drive away" the cold winter months ahead. We bought a bundle so I could wave the branches around like a cheerleader's pom-poms!By lunchtime, my stomach was rum篇3A Doubly Delightful Double Ninth FestivalHooray, it's the Double Ninth Festival today! I've been looking forward to this day for weeks. The Double Ninth Festival is one of my favorite holidays because it means spending quality time with my family, eating delicious food, and best of all - no school!I woke up super early this morning, even before my little sister. I was just too excited to sleep in. I bounded out of bed and ran to the living room window to see if the morning dew had formed yet. The Double Ninth Festival isn't complete without spotting those glistening dewdrops on the plants outside. And there they were, like millions of tiny mirrors reflecting the early sunlight. Check!Next, I dashed to the kitchen where my mom was already hustling and bustling, preparing all the yummy festival foods. The aroma of lotus root, chrysanthemum flowers, and hearty meats simmering in the pots made my tummy rumble. I tried to sneak a taste but mom shooed me away, telling me I'd spoil my appetite."Aiya, this little one is hungrier than a bear after hibernation!" she laughed.I decided to go find my dad and grandfather out in the courtyard. There they were, carefully tying strings of bright chrysanthemums into festive decorations. Chrysanthemums are very important for the Double Ninth Festival because they're one of the nine auspicious things represented. I tried my hand at tying a flower bundle too, but ended up in a tangled mess!"Not to worry, young grasshopper," my grandfather winked at me. "It takes years of practice to master the flower tying. Now why don't you help your dad put up the decorations instead?"I loved this part! We strung the flower chains along the roof beams and columns, turning our little courtyard into a colorful chrysanthemum paradise. It looked so pretty and smelled like sunshine.Pretty soon, the rest of our extended family started arriving one by one, carrying baskets of festival goodies to share. Myaunties brought plates piled high with fried lotus root crisps, candied fruits, and fried dough twists. While the uncles hauled in bamboo trays of savory cakes stuffed with mushrooms, roasted pork belly, and salted eggs. My mouth was watering like crazy! But the foodie festivities weren't the only highlight. After our bellies were full from the delicious noon feast, it was time for the climbing contest! The adults sectioned off an area in the courtyard and planted a tall wooden pole smothered in grease from top to bottom. The challenge was to defy gravity and shimmy all the way up to claim the prize dangling from the top.As the afternoon wound down, we kids zipped around the courtyard playing catch and basking in the gentle autumn sun. I paused to catch my breath, looking around at all my loved ones chatting, laughing, and enjoying each other's company. This is what the Double Ninth Festival is all about - surrounding yourself with the people you cherish most. I soaked in the joyful atmosphere of bright chrysanthemum blooms, traditional snacks, family bonding, and fun competitions. What a doubly delightful day! I can't wait for next year's festival.篇4My Wonderful Double Ninth Festival DayHi there! My name is Xiaoming and I'm 10 years old. I go to Springtime Elementary School here in Beijing. Today I'm going to tell you all about my awesome Double Ninth Festival day last year. It was so much fun!The Double Ninth Festival happens on the 9th day of the 9th month in the Chinese lunar calendar. It's a really old tradition that goes back over 2,500 years! The festival celebrates respect for the elderly and promoting good health. There are lots of special activities and foods we enjoy on this day.It was a sunny autumn morning when I woke up, excited for the Double Ninth Festival. The first thing I did was put on my new red shirt with a cute doggy on it that my grandma gave me. She always gets me the best presents! After getting dressed, I raced downstairs where my mom was cooking up a bunch of special festival foods in the kitchen. She had made delicious sticky rice cakes called zongzi. They looked like little presents all wrapped up in bamboo leaves. My favorite part is the sweet red bean paste filling inside! Mom also prepared some togan rice porridge with loads of healthy ingredients like goji berries, lotus seeds, and Chinese dates. Yum!While I was stuffing my face with zongzi, my dad came into the kitchen carrying big bundles of dogwood branches he hadjust bought from the market. Dogwood branches are really important for the Double Ninth Festival. My dad started tying strings around the branches to hang them up around our home. These dogwood branch decorations are supposed to bring good luck and keep evil spirits away. Pretty cool, right? After breakfast, we all piled into the car to drive over to my grandparents' house on the other side of the city. I was bursting with excitement to see my beloved grandma and grandpa! When we arrived, I leapt out of the car and dashed over to give them huge hugs. Grandma and Grandpa looked so happy to see me. They showered me with kisses and told me I was getting so big and handsome. Aw, shucks! My grandparents had prepared a big Double Ninth Festival feast for our whole family. We all gathered around the table to enjoy all the amazing dishes together - fried taro shredded pork, braised mustard greens, steamed fish, and more. Everything tasted incredible! Grandma and Grandpa are seriously the best cooks ever. We made sure to eat every last bite. After our bellies were completely stuffed, it was time for the fun part - climbing hills! One of the big Double Ninth Festival traditions is going on hikes up hills and mountains. It's supposed to represent pursuing a long life. My parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins all got ready to head out. I put on my new sneakers and Dad helped me tie a little charm around my waist for good luck while hiking. We drove a little way outside of Beijing to the beautiful Fragrant Hills park where there are lots of trails to climb. Our whole huge family group started trekking up one of the biggest hills, holding onto long strings of dogwood branches. I was so excited to be climbing up high alongside my grandparents. Hiking can be tiring for them at their old age, but they didn't complain one bit. They are the toughest people I know!About halfway up the hill, we stopped to catch our breath and take some snack breaks. Aunties started passing around little boxes of special Double Ninth Festival cakes made from crushed millet, brown sugar, and rose petals. They tasted a bit gritty but also kind of floral and nice. I gobbled a few of them down to refuel my energy. After our snack pit stop, I stuck close by Grandpa's side as we continued climbing up the winding trail. He moved a bit slower, but I made sure to stay right next to him every step of the way. I'm glad I did because at one point, Grandpa tripped on a rock and started to fall over! Thankfully I was篇5A Delightful Double Ninth Festival DayHooray, it's the Double Ninth Festival today! This is one of my favorite days of the whole year. The ninth day of the ninth month on the lunar calendar is a really special occasion in Chinese culture. My family always goes all out to celebrate it with lots of fun traditions and delicious foods. Let me tell you all about the amazing Double Ninth Festival day we had!The morning started off with my grandparents coming over bright and early. As soon as they arrived, the whole house filled up with their cheerful voices and the thick aroma of the snacks they had prepared. Grandma brought her famous jiuniang, a warm, sweet fermented rice soup. She let me help stir the big pot before pouring the delightfully thick and gooey soup into bowls topped with soft, chewy rice balls. Yum!Grandpa's contribution was a huge basket overflowing with fresh chrysanthemum flowers that he had picked himself. The yellow and white blooms looked so vibrant and perky. He told me the chrysanthemum represents longevity and good luck in Chinese culture. We carefully plucked the petals to mix into the jiuniang soup, adding a zesty floral flavor. After our traditional Double Ninth breakfast, it was time to make the climb up Wudang Mountain just like families have done for centuries on this holiday. My cousins and aunts and uncles all joined us, making it a huge group trekking up the trail together. The adults carried bamboo backpacks stuffed with tasty snacks and supplies for our mountaintop picnic later. The hike was tough with all the steep rocky sections, but the crisp autumn air and brilliant colors of the changing leaves all around rejuvenated my energy. We stopped frequently to catch our breath while the grown-ups recited poems and told mythological stories about the secluded mountain's spiritual significance. I loved hearing the ancient legends! When we finally reached one of the highest peaks after hours of climbing, the payoff was an absolutely breathtaking panoramic view. The lush green forest spreading out below us was dotted with flaming reds, burning oranges, and brilliant golds. I had never seen nature's canvas so vividly painted before! We found the perfect flat clearing amongst the rocks to roll out our blankets and unpack our carefully prepared lunches. Get ready for an awesome adventure! It was early October and the weather was just perfect - not too hot and not too cold. The leaves were starting to change colors and fall off the trees, making everything look so pretty. My parents told me we were going to celebrate a special holiday called the Chongyang Festival. I didn't know much about it, but I was excited to find out!First thing in the morning, my mom made my favorite breakfast - fluffy scrambled eggs with diced veggies and crispy bacon on the side. She also cut up a big plate of fresh fruit like oranges, apples, and grapes. My stomach was rumbling just looking at it all! After we finished eating, my dad said we needed to get ready to go out."Where are we going?" I asked curiously."It's a surprise!" he replied with a wink.I hurried to put on my comfiest shoes and a warm sweater. I could hardly contain my excitement wondering what the surprisewas! Finally, we piled into the car and headed out. We drove for about 30 minutes until we reached...the mountains! I pressed my face against the window in awe at the towering peaks covered in colorful trees. This was going to be an outdoor adventure for sure.We parked the car and started hiking up a trail through the forest. The crisp autumn air smelled like firewood and dried leaves crunched under our feet. After about an hour, we came across the cutest little village nestled among the mountains. There were tons of people walking around wearing traditional Chinese clothing like changshan and qipao dresses. Market stalls lined the streets selling all kinds of interesting foods, handicrafts, and games."Can we stop and look around?" I begged my parents."Of course!" my mom smiled. "That's what we're here for."First, we stopped at a stall selling fresh candied fruit on bamboo skewers. My parents bought me a big strawberry one that was absolutely bursting with sweet flavor. As I happily munched away, we wandered over to an old man making tiny wooden figurines with his hands right at his stall. Each one was an intricately carved animal like a horse, dragon, or phoenix. They looked just like the ones I'd seen in books about ancient China!"Wow, those are so cool!" I exclaimed. "Can we get one?"The kind old man overheard me and held out a little wooden dog figurine."This one is for you, young miss," he said warmly."Thank you!" I replied, admiring the craftsmanship up close. What an amazing gift!Next, we came across a lively street performance. A group of musicians played traditional instruments like the erhu fiddle and bamboo flute, while elegant dancers gracefully moved between shimmering ribbon streamers. I stared in wonder, dazzled by the vibrant colors of their costumes sparkling in the sunlight.Suddenly feeling a bit peckish again after our explorations, we stopped for a delicious lunch of savory noodle bowls, steamed dumplings, and sizzling stir-fried veggies. My parents also ordered a pot of fragrant jasmine tea for us to share. As we ate, my dad told me all about the history and traditions behind Chongyang Festival."A long time ago, people would go hiking up mountains and drinking chrysanthemum wine on this special day," he explained."It's a way to appreciate the beauty of nature and spend quality time with loved ones."After our tummies were full and satisfied, it was time for even more fun! We wandered through the village games area where kids my age could win little prizes by playing classic games. First I had a blast trying to catch goldfish using just a paper scoop in a little pool. It was much trickier than it looked! I ended up getting sprayed with water but thought it was hilarious. Next, I gave grinding beans in a stone mill a try. You had to grind them into a fine powder as quickly as you could for a chance at a prize. My arms got super tired but I ended up winning a cute little spinning top toy!As the sun started getting lower in the sky, we made our way over to the main event - climbing up the nearest mountain for the breathtaking views! The hike was pretty steep at times but we took lots of breaks and I was having a blast. Strange rock formations stuck out along the path, making me imagine all sorts of mystical creatures. Were those really just rocks or actually petrified ancient creatures? Finally, after what felt like forever but was probably only an hour or so, we reached the summit! The 360 degree view from the mountaintop was beyond spectacular. You could see for miles and miles across lush valleys, shimmering rivers, and endless rolling peaks painted in vivid autumn hues. I stood there in awe, feeling like I was on top of the world. My parents gave me a big hug, and we all just soaked in the magical scenery together in peaceful silence."This is what Chongyang Festival is all about," my dad said softly. "Appreciating the beauty that nature gives us and being surrounded by the ones we love."In that moment, I felt so grateful and happy to be sharing this experience with my family. As the sun began to set, we regretfully started making our descent back down the mountain. My legs were pretty tired by that point, but my heart was full of incredible memories from the day's festivities. On the drive home, I dozed off dreaming about the sights, sounds, and flavors of the quaint mountain village. What an amazing Chongyang Festival adventure! When we arrived back home, we cozied up together on the couch to look through all the pictures we had taken throughout the day. From the cheerful street performers and delicious festival foods to the lush mountain scenery, every photo was like a window back into the magical experience. I couldn't wait to tell all my friends at school about my incredible Chongyang Festival on Monday! As I snuggled deeper under my covers that night, I smiled thinking about all the fun new memories and learned traditions from the day. I felt so fortunate to have such a wonderful family to share it all with. Celebrating special holidays and exploring new cultures is the best way to make amazing experiences you'll never forget. I can't wait for next year's Chongyang Festival!。

重阳节英语作文 高中英语作文
The 9th day of the 9th lunar month is the traditional Chongyang
Festival, or Double Ninth Festival. It usually falls in October in
the Gregorian calendar. In an ancient and mysterious book Yi Jing, or
The Book of Changes, number "6" was thought to be of Yin character,
meaning feminine or negative, while number "9" was thought to be Yang,
meaning masculine or positive. So the number nine in both month and
day create the Double Ninth Festival, or Chongyang Festival. Chong in
Chinese means "double." Also, as double ninth was pronounced the same
as the word to signify "forever", both are "Jiu Jiu," the Chinese
ancestors considered it an auspicious day worth celebration. That's
why ancient Chinese began to celebrate this festival long time ago.

The custom of ascending a height to avoid epidemics was passed
down from long time ago. Therefore, the Double Ninth Festival is also
called "Height Ascending Festival". The height people will reach is
usually a mountain or a tower. Ancient literary figures have left
many poems depicting the activity. Even today, people still swarm to
famous or little known mountains on this day.
