这四个单词,指示四个方位。
(1)north.south,east,west这类表示方位的词一般作名词,其前常用定冠
词the.
I am from the north of China.我来自中国的北部。
(2)表示方位的词也可作形容词。
They live on the east coast.他们住在东海岸。
(3) 表示方位的词也可作副词。
Leaving the city,we headed north.离城后,我们向北走。
【例1】Mary (住在)the (南方)of China.
【解析】 “住在“要用“live+介词”表示,主语Mary为第三人称单数,故
live也要用第三人称单数形式。“南方”用south表示。
