1.Which kind of transport do you prefer to use: bus or train?

prefer that (should)+动词原型更喜欢…

He prefers to stay at home rather than go shopping.

2. Imagine that you plan to spend a holiday.

▲构词：①imagination n. [C / U] 想像，想像力，想像的事物②imaginative adj.

富有想像力的

▲搭配：imagine sth / doing sth e.g. You can imagine the situation there.

I can’t imagine (my) marrying a girl of that sort.

【考例】I can hardly imagine Peter ___across the Atlantic Ocean in five days.

3. Ever since middle school, my sister Wang Wei and I have dreamed about taking a great bike trip.

(1).ever since从那以后

It is/has been+一段时间+since+一般过去时(从句中的动作不能延续)自从……至今已经多久了。eg: It’s five years since I left there.

注意：在It’s +一段时间+since从句，如果since 从句的谓语动词是延续性动词，那么，它所表示的时间是从那个动作结束时起算，意为―不做…多久了。eg: It’s five years since he smoked. 他戒烟五年了。

(2) dream about/of 梦见，梦想

【辨析】finally, at last与in the end 易混词辨析

finally 一般指一系列事物或论点顺序的最后项内容,或用在动词前,表示等了好久才…,没有感情色。E.g.He stood up, waved his hand and finally began his

inspiring.

at last 在意思上是指经过周折、等待、耽搁到最后、终于(出现所期待的结果),常常带有较浓厚的感情色彩。E.g. He finished his long boring speech at

last.

in the end 指等了好久才···，而且能用于预卜未来E.g. Who can tell what will happen to the earth in the end?

6. Although she didn’t know the best way of getting to places, she insisted that she organize the trip properly.

(1). although, though引导让步状语从句不能再和but, and, however连用, 但可以和副词yet, still连用。although从句多放在句首, though从句可在主句前，中，后任何位置。

(2).insist v.坚持认为，坚持主张

on/upon one’s doing sth 坚持做,坚决做

that +从句“坚持说”(后表示一个事实), 后接的从句用陈述语气,按需要选择时态

that sb (should) do sth 坚决主张做某事, 后接的宾语从句常用虚拟语气即“should +v.”

eg：I insisted on/upon his coming with us.

He insisted that he hadn’t stolen the girl’s handbag.

Mary was ill. Her parents insisted that she (should) see a doctor.

(1).determine v. 决定, 下定决心, 确定

①determine to do sth. =make up one’s mind 下定决心

eg：He determined to learn French.

②be determined to do sth. 决心做eg：She was determined to go to university.

(2).change one’s mind 改变某人的主意

eg：No matter what you say, I won’t change my mind.

(3). determination n. 决心，毅力determined adj. 坚毅的，下决心的

主语+ be + adj.+ to do sth. 不定式用主动形式表达被动含义。这一结构中的形容词往往是表示心理活动的，接不定式时, 不定式的逻辑主语是句子的主语, 主动用to do, 被动用to be done; 也可以接从句。这类形容词有surprised, moved,
