009 海外项目英语口语(英文文本+MP3):设备(机械)工程师面试(九)

Job interview for Mechanical Engineer (Equipment Engineer)(Section 9)第一部分:文本1. Question: Tell me about yourself and why you want to be a Mechanical engineer?Answer: I am naturally an inquisitive person who enjoys working in a team environment where the ability to problem-solves and collaborate with others is an essential part of the role. I believe i have a good balance of technical, analytical and practical skills that mean i am a strong candidate for this mechanical engineering position. I have always had a passion for mechanical engineering, which means i have a desire to go above and beyond what is required. I also understand how important safety is in respect of mechanical engineering, and on that basis, i an someone who is disciplined, organized and able to follow strict rules and procedures. I will never take risks or put your organization in danger through the work i carry out for you. I suppose the last thing i would like to say is, i feel if you invest in me, i will repay the faith you have shown in hiring me by being professional, conscientious and a positive contributor to the mechanical engineering team.2. Question: What do you think are the most important skills to have as a mechanical engineer?Answer: I think the most important skills as a mechanical engineer is safety awareness and compliance. You also need numerous other technical and non-technical skills to be a competent and safe mechanical engineer. You need effective technical skills that are relevant to your field of engineering, including the ability to dedicate the time to continually improve and keep up-to-date with industry developments. You also need analytical and problem-solving capabilities and accurate written communication skills. You will need concise and clear verbal communication skills, especially when speaking to non-technical individuals. Having the ability to work under pressure is also vital, as well as having great team working skills where you are entirely focused on achieving the company objectives. Finally, a level of commercial awareness is an advantage, because decisions have to be made from a financial and business perspective in order for the company to continually thrive and develop.3. Question:what steps would you follow during the mechanicalengineering design process?Answer:I would start out by defining the exact problem. This is one of the most important steps, because it's quite easy to misinterpret information and data and you need to make sure you don't jump to any conclusions. I would then carry out in-depth research to find out what the objectives were, and this would also assist me in establishing the specific requirement for the engineering task or project. I would then consult with my colleagues and experts from within the organization to brainstorm ideas, evaluate the options and come up with the right solution to the problem or issue. The next step would be to develop and design a prototype before running a comprehensive testing stage to make sure our proposals meet the requirements. The final stage would be to communicate the outcome following an extensive testing period, to make sure the design was fit for the purpose.4. Question: How would you describe a technical engineering problem to a non-technical person?Answer: This is a good question and one that i envisage having to tackle many times as a mechanical engineer. I would first of all decide what the objective was in respect of themessage i wanted to communicate. I would then quickly assess the level of knowledge or expertise the person i am communicating with has. I would then utilize simple, relatable drawings, diagrams or explanations to explain the engineering problem we were facing. For example, most people can relate to the simple function of a car moving forward by the rotation of an axle that is powered by an engine. So, i could use the basic principle of how a car gets from point A to B to describe the problem i am trying to define. Regardless of the situation i was in, i would keep communicating clearly, simply and concisely until the person confirmed they fully understood my objective.5. Question: What are your strengths and weakness?Answer: My biggest strength is my ability to collaborate and work with other people to create innovative and safe mechanical engineering solutions. Another key strength of mine is that i am able to work quickly, whilst following strict rules, procedures and safety guidelines. In respect of my weaknesses, i only feel i have one which i have been working on to improve. That weakness is my inability to say no to new work or projects, simply because i don't like to let people down. As a mechanicalengineer, it is important to take on as much work as possible, but you have to make sure the work you do is safe, compliant, effective and reliable.第二部分:MP3009.mp3。

Job interview for Safety Engineer (Safety Manager)(Section 15)第一部分:文本1. Question:Tell me about yourself and why you want to becomea health and safety manager?Answer: I am a dedicated, organized, and passionate person who takes my work very seriously. As a health and safety manager you have to be determined, knowledgeable and resolute in everything you do, and those are the just some of the qualities i possess that i am proud of. The role of a health and safety manager requires specific skills and qualities which i feel i have in abundance. These are, being relied upon to create and instill a culture of “safety must always come first within an organization”; excellent communication skills, especially when dealing with people who perhaps might be skeptical about safety; and finally an understanding that you are running a business. On that basis, safety has to run in parallel with your strategic aims and objectives. If you hire me as your health and safety manager, i will work with you to ensure everything you and your employees do is compliant, and the risk is minimized to an acceptable level.2. Question: Why have you chosen our company to work for as ahealth and safety manager?Answer:The role of a health and safety manager is the type of position where you have to have the support of your employer. There are some organizations out there who, i believe, do not take safety as seriously as they should. Having researched your organization, it is clear you want to embed a culture of health and safety within your organization, and when difficult decisions have to be made, i believe you will support me in the process. For those reasons, and also the fact you are a leader within your industry, make me want to become your health and safety manager.3. Question:What duties and responsibilities do you expect to be carrying out on a daily basis as our health and safety manager?Answer: My role, as your health and safety manager would be first and foremost to monitor the various safety risks and hazards within the workplace to ensure all staff and visitors are safe from harm. Furthermore, it would be my duty to ensure your organization is not at risk from litigation as a result of poor health and safety practices or policies. I would achieve this by creating a culture that insists "safety must always come first" whilst also conducting suitable risk assessments thatall staff are familiar with, and they abide by. I would also be responsible for ensuring your business is legally compliant, organizing and facilitating staff training, conducting all safety inspections and drills and also ensuring there are adequate first aid stations present within the workplace. I would also be required to create suitable health and safety management processes and monitoring systems, keep and maintain accurate records and also advise the senior management team in respect of safe practices in line with your legal duties and responsibilities.4. Question: Describe the risk assessment process to me?Answer: There are five important steps to consider when creating a suitable and appropriate risk assessment.Step 1 is where i would identify the hazards present. This might be an item of machinery or potentially hazardous cleaning liquid, for example.Step 2 is the process of determining who is at risk from harm and how. In the case of the machinery, this would be the person or people operating the machinery, and also those who might come into close proximity with it.Step 3 is where i would then evaluate the risks before deciding on the precautions that need to be introduced. Forexample, if the potentially hazardous cleaning liquid gives off fumes, the precaution maybe is to only use it in a well-ventilated area with personal protective clothing worn at all times.Step 4 is where i would record my findings and then implement them.During the implementation stage i would also need to inform everyone within the workplace of the assessment and carry out relevant training. Finally, step 5 is where i would regularly review the risk assessment and amend or update as necessary.5. Question: How would you deal with a situation whereby one of our employees was refusing to cooperate with health and safety regulations?Answer: At the end of the day, health and safety is law, and he or she would need to cooperate, or they could find themselves in breach of their employment contract. However, a heavy-handed approach would not be my first attempt to resolve this issue.I would seek to sit down and educate them as to the benefits of health and safety and how it is a fundamentally important responsibility of everyone at work. I would provide them with interesting examples of health and safety being put to good use, before backing up my facts with statistics that are designed to show the real value of being safety focused within a workplace. It would my intention to turnaround the employees' attitude and approach to health and safety in order to get them on my side and encourage them to genuinely see the true value of it.第二部分:MP3005.mp3。

The MSDS is a major component of AEGO hazard communication program; other parts include chemical inventory, proper container labeling, maintenance of the MSDS and employee training. Most of the program subject will be addressed on the project specific bases, site supervisors play a critical role and ensuring dynamic elements of this program are implemented on each project site. The site supervisor must compile a written list of hazardous chemicals present on the project site, to which employees may be exposed, this list must be kept current and in the project MSDS binder, site supervisors also are highly involved in container labeling, they must ensure that all chemicals present on project site are contained in a visional container, and have readable manufacture labels and warnings, the labels must be displayed on the container, keep clean and legible, and written in English. In the future, changes will be occurring because within hazardous communications, OSHAs is in the process of lining OSHA hazard communication standard, with a globe harmonized system of specification in labeling of chemicals, or the GHS. The GHS is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labeling of chemicals, at June 1st, 2015, all labels will be required to have pictogram, a signal word, hazard and precautionary statements, the product identifier, and supplier identification. Changes will also take place with the material safety data sheet, or MSDS, they are now provided in the uniform format with the associated information listed under specific numbers in headlines. The basic of these changes is to ensure that employers, employees and public are provided with adequate, practical, reliable and comprehensible information on hazards of chemicals, so they can take effective measures for their health and safety. We are now discussing personal protective equipment or PPE, these are items you must wear for protection from harm to your body, they will want to raise your visibility on the job site, prevent object form entering or striking your body, and lessen impact in the event of being struck, the use of PPE can saveyou from injury or illness and possibly save your life, but PPE can help if you wear it, the following is the minimum PPE require on all AEGO job site: safety glasses, goggles, face shields, tinted and approved sun glasses or shields and be used during the day, however they must be clear when working at night, this means no tint. A hard hat, high visible, reflective green vest, a high visible T-shirt or both, work gloves should with you at all times, and on your hands when working, cavalla cut gloves are required when working with a raiser knife, a light type steel toe boot, that needs recognized ANSI industrial standards, the work boots must also cover your ankles, this is the minimum level of PPE that must be worn at AEGO project site. Other higher level of PPE may be required depending on the tasks and the job site specifics, if you don’t know what PPE to wear or unsure, check with your supervisor or the HSPs, it is your responsibility to what PPE requirements applied to your job, and to wear proper PPE for your work. Air monitoring instruments are also used at our project as another means of protecting our workers, while it is not common, there is the potential for airborne chemicals with similar hazards to exist at some of our project sites, depend upon the tasks performed and the specific area, the ,most common air monitor we used is a four-gas-meter,this instrument measures four different potential hazards in the air, the level of oxygen, the amount of flammables, the level of carbon monoxide, and level of hydrogen sulfide, once the monitor is calibrated, it will alarm if any one of these hazards present at non-acceptable level, and therefore, warning you of the hazard before you working in area, air monitoring instrument is very important for your safety when you are at project site, be sure that you understand completely how the air monitor works, and always follow the recommendation made from the monitoring results, it could very well save your life. This is the chart that describe the reading of four gas meter which related to action levels and the correct actions that must be taken then these levels are determined unsafe, if there are any questions with reading, always evacuating the area until your questions are addressed and resolved. The following gas level readings required that either you evacuate the area, ventilate the area or both, again, if there are any questions in your mind about the reading, always air on the site of caution, that means evacuate, for o2 or oxygen, the action level is required for reading less than 19.5%, for amount of gas or vapor in the air, capable for producing flash fire in the presence or recognition source, better known as LEL, at apercentage greater than 10% the man’s protective measures. For co or carbon monoxide, the action level is required for a percentage greater than 35 parts per million or PPM, and for h2s or hydrogen sulfide, a reading greater than 10 parts per million requires that actions to be taken. If you are unsure on how to operate or read four gas meter, be sure to talk with your supervisor.MP3202.mp3。
