我在波斯湾这边生活和教书已经超过30年了。

我想和你们谈谈我的朋友，她在阿布达比教成人英语。
在一个晴朗的日子里，她决定带她的学生到花园去教他们一些大自然的辞汇。
但最后却变成是她在学习所有本地植物在阿拉伯语中是怎么说的。
还有这些植物是如何被用作药材，化妆品，烹饪，香草。
这些学生是怎么取得这些知识的呢？固然是从他们的祖父母，乃至曾祖父母那里得来的。
不需要我来告知你们能够跨代沟通是何等重要。
but sadly, today, languages are dying at an unprecedented rate. a language diesevery 14 days. now, at the same time, english is the undisputed global language. couldthere be a connection well i dont know. but i do know that ive seen a lot of changes.when i first came out to the gulf, i came to kuwait in the days when it was stilla hardship post. actually,not that long ago. that is a little bit too early. but nevertheless, i was recruited by the british council along with about 25 other teachers. and we were the first non-muslims to teach in the state schoolsthere in kuwait. we were brought to teach english because the government wanted tomodernize the country and empower the citizens through education. and of course, thebenefited from some of that lovely oil wealth. 但遗憾的是，今天很多语言正在以前所未有的速度消失。

To me, learning isn't just something I have to do for school. It's a thrilling journey that allows me to discover the wonders of the world around me.One of the things I love most about learning is that it happens everywhere, not just in the classroom. The whole world is a gigantic library filled with countless lessons waiting to be uncovered. Sometimes the most amazing lessons come from the most unexpected places!Like that time I was helping my dad wash his car and I noticed how the soapy water was causing the colors of the car to look different. I started wondering why that happened, so I did some research and learned all about refraction and how light bends when it travels through different materials. Who knew washing a car could lead to learning about light and physics?Or that afternoon I was walking in the park and spotted a trail of ants marching across the ground. I sat and watched them for a while, marveling at how diligently they worked together togather food and bring it back to their colony. It made me curious to learn more about ants and their incredibly organized societies.I checked out books from the library and spent days reading all about the different species of ants, their roles in the colony, and how they communicate through smells and movements. I was blown away by how much there was to discover about those tiny creatures I had seen a million times without ever really observing them.Every new thing I learn inevitably leads to more questions pondered and more knowledge to be gained. Understanding one concept always makes me hungry to start exploring the next. It's like following an endless trail of breadcrumbs deeper and deeper into the woods of wisdom and enlightenment.While learning itself is endlessly fascinating, I also love discussing what I've learned and hearing different viewpoints from others. Some of the best conversations happen when a group of friends get together and everybody shares facts, thoughts and ideas about a topic we've been studying. I'm always amazed by how my friends can take a subject I thought I knew everything about and shed new light on it by offeringup their own unique observations and perspectives. Having mybeliefs questioned and considering other angles truly enriches my understanding.My friends and I also enjoy putting our knowledge into practice through activities and games. We make studying feel like play. Like when we were learning about ancient Rome, we staged explorer missions where we pretended to be archaeologists uncovering Roman artifacts and ruins. We created costumes and props and put on skits re-enacting important events from Roman history. Learning becomes so much more memorable and meaningful when you experience it that way instead of just reading some dry facts from a textbook.Speaking of textbooks, one of my favorite ways to learn is by reading. I love getting cozy with a good book and devouring page after page about cultures from around the world, brave explorers and inventors, the mysteries of nature, and so much else. Books give me access to the collective knowledge and experiences of humanity across all of time and space. With each book, my mind travels to incredible places it could never actually go. I get to walk through the ancient streets of Athens one day and soar through the cosmos the next. Reading expands my awareness infinitely beyond my current reality.While books are a beloved pastime, I get just as much joy from hands-on learning activities too. I'll never forget the thrill of growing my first bean plant from a seed and watching it sprout through the soil, unfurling new leaves until it stretched up towards the sun. Witnessing the life cycle of that little plant made the science behind it come alive in a way the textbook diagrams could never capture. Getting my hands dirty and doing the experiments myself ensures the lessons really stick.I also relish opportunities to get creative when learning something new. Making crafts, drawing pictures, and even writing stories are such fun ways to work through new concepts and commit them to memory. These creative outlets allow me to process the information from a different angle by visualizing and interpreting it through my own artistic lens. Plus there's a profound sense of pride and accomplishment that comes from producing something inspired by the topic at hand.Field trips are another fantastic way to experience learning. There's no better way to understand something than traveling to experience it firsthand. Visiting museums, historical sites, science centers, and other educational attractions instantly turns even the dryest subject into a vivid, living lesson coming alive before my eyes. Looking at photographs of the Roman Colosseumsimply doesn't compare to walking through those ancient arches and corridors myself, surrounded by the ambience of history. Every field trip offers priceless moments of discovery and contexts for understanding that just can't be replicated in a classroom.Finally, one of the greatest joys of learning for me is the sense of community and togetherness it brings. Learning the same lessons connects me with my classmates in a special way as we explore the subjects together. We get to exchange ideas, learn from each other's perspectives, and sometimes even make discoveries as a group. We're all in it together.Even beyond my classroom, learning connects me to teachers, parents, authors, scientists, historians, and thinkers from all walks of life. Most of us agree that excercisement is the most important method, but I think we should learn English by a cute way instead of a hard one, sothat we can learn it well quickly. To sum up from my own experience, phonetic symbol（音标）is the most thing that English learner should master of, for which is the thing that we can recite new words quickly by. As for the hearing and speaking, we can improve them by listening English tapes whtever it talks about during cleaning or some sports. The most stupid mothod is reading the same word again and again,it's useless and a wasting of time! English learning need to accumulate a lot and to understand a lot, but not to recite a lot. In the other word, when you learn Chinese years ago, you needn't recite lots of words on purpose, but the fact is you know and be able to use many of them gradully during talking with other .About study and how to study If you wantto improve your study ,you should have a high efficiency,then,i will gave you some advice。

一下课，我就像飞毛腿一样，跑到补习班，因为我就要开始享受美
好的时光，和大家一起聊不同的语言，觉得好有趣，他就是我最好
的朋友—英语。
“当—当—当”清脆响亮的声音传出，我们早已兴高采烈的坐在教
室，等待着美好的一堂课。老师一开始都会分享事情，让我们也能
参与其中，有时会逗弄我们，甚至让班上不专心的同学，也开始哈
哈大笑，老师不出功课，但要我们在上课时写，不会时，老师都说
很好，鼓励踊跃发言及发问，就这样一直努力，我就对 英语更加的
喜欢。
星期三下午，我们都会玩拼音游戏，要上台拼音，老师说过：“上
台不是要跟别人比，而是对抗自己。”这句话让我越来越进步，因
为敌人就是自己。我们也会表演话剧，上台时，我们要控制好自己
的心，不要让心打败了自己，话剧表演有个好朋友，就是演讲，演
讲只有一个人，不过，大家都很喜欢，因为生动又有趣，又可以表
达自己的心情。
其实，“英语”不像想象中的困难，只要你肯努力，总有一天，你
会踏进你的 梦想，我要加油与努力的！
