1My Favorite Place - The United States and New York CityHi there! My name is Alex and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about my favorite place in the whole world - the United States of America! The U.S. is a huge country with 50 different states. Each state is kind of like its own little country, with its own laws, cultures, foods, and even accents. But they're all part of one big nation too. Isn't that cool? The U.S. has everything - big cities, small towns, huge forests, amazing beaches, towering mountains, and more. The geography is just incredible. You can go from the sunny beaches of Florida and California to the snowy peaks of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. There are vast plains in the middle of the country where farmers grow crops, and humid swamps down in the southern states like Louisiana. But my absolute favorite place in the entire United States is New York City. New York is one of the biggest, most famous cities in the world. It's located right on the east coast, in a statecalled New York (I know, it can get confusing!). Over 8 million people live just in New York City itself. That's more people than in entire states!New York City is made up of five different boroughs - Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. Manhattan is the center and most famous part. That's where you'll find iconic landmarks like the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Empire State Building, Times Square, and so much more. Just walking down the streets of Manhattan is an incredible experience. The buildings are unbelievably tall, scratching the sky. The sidewalks are crowded with people from all over the world - you'll hear dozens of different languages as you walk by. Street vendors sell hot dogs and pretzels and kebabs. Taxis honk their horns constantly, trying to navigate the crazy traffic. There are flashing neon lights and huge glass windows displaying fancy jewelry or designer clothes. My favorite part of Manhattan is Central Park. It's a massive green park right in the middle of the concrete jungle. You can walk along beautiful trails, rent a rowboat and cruise across the lakes, or just spread out a blanket and have a picnic. With the tallbuildings towering all around you, it's easy to forget you're in the heart of one of the biggest cities on Earth.Just across the river is the borough of Brooklyn. Brooklyn has a very different feel - quieter residential neighborhoods, hipster cafes and shops, and amazing food from all cultures. The pizza in Brooklyn is world-famous! I always beg my parents to take me to Coney Island, which is this awesome beach and boardwalk in Brooklyn with a classic old amusement park.Queens is the biggest borough and probably the most diverse place on the planet. There are huge communities of people from India, China, Korea, Greece, Italy, and almost everywhere else you can imagine. That means you can find simply amazing food from all those cultures too. My favorite is the Indian restaurants along a street called "Curry Hill."The Bronx is where you'll find the storied Yankee Stadium, home of the legendary New York Yankees baseball team. And Staten Island is a bit quieter, with awesome parks and the famous Staten Island Ferry that gives you great views of the Manhattan skyline. There's just so much to do in New York City - museums, shows, concerts, sports, you name it. And the best part is how you can easily hop on a subway and be in a completely differentworld within minutes. One minute you're in the hustle and bustle of Times Square, and the next you're strolling through a peaceful park or along the waterfront. The energy, culture, diversity, opportunities - that's what makes New York City so amazing. Yes, it can be crowded, loud, and expensive. But it's also exciting, vibrant, and totally unique. I feel so lucky to have been born just outside of New York City and to be able to visit all the time. The United States itself is wonderful, but New York will always have a special place in my heart. With its famous skyline, incredible food, world-class attractions, and buzzing energy, it truly is the greatest city on Earth in my book. I hope you'll get a chance to visit New York City someday and experience its magic for yourself!篇2My Favorite Place - Japan and TokyoHi there! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. I love learning about different countries and cultures from around the world. Today I want to tell you about my favorite place – the amazing country of Japan! Japan is an island nation located inEast Asia. It's made up of four main islands and many smaller ones too.One of the coolest things about Japan is how different it is from where I live. The language, customs, food, everything is so unique and fascinating to me. Instead of writing with the same alphabet we use, the Japanese write using characters called kanji, hiragana and katakana. They read from right to left instead of left to right too! Japanese pop culture like anime and video games are super popular all over the world now.The Japanese people have lots of interesting traditions and ways of life. Many Japanese people practice religions like Shinto and Buddhism. They celebrate special festivals and holidays throughout the year like Obon in the summer to honor their ancestors. One of my favorite Japanese celebrations is the dazzling cherry blossom festivals in the spring when the beautiful sakura trees are in full bloom.Japanese food is out of this world delicious! Instead of using knives and forks, the Japanese eat with chopsticks. Some of my favorite Japanese dishes are ramen noodles in a savory broth, sushi rolls with raw fish and rice, and fluffy mochi rice cakes. Japanese snack foods like pocky are addictively tasty too. Fordessert, I love trying the unique flavors of Japanese mochi ice cream. Yum!Perhaps the most famous Japanese city is the bustling capital of Tokyo. Tokyo is one of the largest cities in the world with over 37 million people in the metropolitan area! Despite its huge size, Tokyo is an extremely clean, safe, and efficient city. The public transportation system with its trains and subways makes it super easy to get around without needing a car. There are so many awesome sights and activities in Tokyo that I don't even know where to start. Maybe we could visit one of the city's many parks like Shinjuku Gyoen which features beautiful Japanese gardens. We could go shopping in the kawaii (cute) stores and buy fun things like stuffed animals in the Harajuku district. Another must-see is the Tsukiji Fish Market, one of the largest seafood markets in the world. Just thinking about all the fresh fish makes my mouth water!Speaking of quirky, some of the most fascinating places in Tokyo are the small neighborhood streets with their tiny restaurants, bars, and shops. Exploring the backstreets and absorbing the atmosphere is one of my favorite things to do in Tokyo. I love seeing the Japanese architecture like the traditionalmachiya townhouses and the shinto shrines tucked away here and there. When I'm feeling adventurous, I want to go eat at one of the wacky theme restaurants in Tokyo. There are themed cafes for everything you can imagine – animals, video games, horror movies, you name it! Maybe I could go to the Alice in Wonderland themed restaurant or the Ninja Akasaka restaurant where the staff dress up as ninjas. That would be so fun and memorable. As you can probably tell, I'm absolutely in love with Japan and especially Tokyo. The culture is so unique and there's always more to discover no matter how many times you visit. The Japanese people put so much care and artistry into everything they do. From the delicious food to the incredible sights, from the fascinating traditions to the innovative technology, Japan is truly a wondrous place. I hope someday I can travel to Tokyo and experience it all for myself!篇3My Favorite Country: The United States of AmericaHi, my name is Alex and I'm 10 years old. I want to tell you about my favorite country, the United States of America! TheUnited States is a really big country with 50 different states. I live in the state of California, which is on the west coast of the country. Let me tell you all about the U.S.!The United States has lots of different landscapes and climates. There are sandy beaches in Florida, tall mountains in Colorado, and huge deserts in Nevada. Some parts are hot and sunny all year, while others get very cold and snowy in the winter. There are forests, plains, valleys, and just about every type of environment you can imagine! The United States is also a diverse country with people from all over the world. People have moved to America from every continent to start a new life. You'll hear lots of different languages spoken and see people of all different races and backgrounds. But no matter where they came from originally, they are all proud to be Americans. One of my favorite cities in the U.S. is San Francisco, California, which is just a couple hours away from where I live. San Francisco is a beautiful city right on the Pacific Ocean. It has lots of big hills and the streets go up and down and wind around. The city is famous for its iconic Golden Gate Bridge, which is a huge orange suspension bridge that stretches across the SanFrancisco Bay. Just driving across the Golden Gate Bridge is an awesome experience! In San Francisco, there are tons of fun things for kids to do. You can ride a cable car, which are these iconic streetcars that go up and down the steep hills. You can visit Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 to see sea lions lounging in the sun. Or you can go to the Exploratorium, which is this huge science museum with hundreds of interactive exhibits.Another really cool place in San Francisco is Chinatown. It's the oldest and biggest Chinatown outside of Asia. All the signs are in Chinese, there are red lanterns hanging in the streets, and you'll see lots of people out running food stands and markets. You can get delicious and authentic Chinese food like dim sum. It feels like you're in a completely different country!America is an amazing country with so many different cultures, landscapes, and things to do. From the beaches of Florida to the mountains of Colorado to the deserts of Nevada, there is something for everyone. And in California, we're lucky to have awesome cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles with so many fun activities.I've traveled to a bunch of different states like New York, Texas, Hawaii, and more, but I still have so much of America leftto explore. No matter where you go in the U.S., you're bound to have an incredible experience. I feel so fortunate to have been born in this amazing country. Maybe one day you'll have a chance to visit the United States and see how wonderful it is for yourself!篇4My Favorite Country and CityHave you ever been to another country? I was lucky enough to visit the United States of America last year with my family. It was an amazing trip and I got to see so many cool places! The USA is a huge country with 50 different states. We visited the state of California which is on the west coast.California is famous for its beautiful weather, sandy beaches, and fun cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco. We spent most of our time in San Francisco which is in northern California. San Francisco is an incredible city with lots of neat things to see and do. I'll tell you all about the highlights of our trip! One of the first places we visited was the Golden Gate Bridge. This famous bright orange bridge spans the mouth of the San Francisco Bay and connects San Francisco to another area called Marin County. The Golden Gate Bridge is over a mile long andsuper tall so big ships can pass underneath it. It was built way back in 1937 which is crazy since it's still standing today over 80 years later! We walked part of the way across the bridge on a pedestrian walkway and the views were breathtaking. You could see the sparkling blue bay on one side and the hilly San Francisco skyline on the other side. It was a little scary to be up so high but also really fun and windy.Another awesome place we went in San Francisco is Fisherman's Wharf. This waterfront neighborhood is filled with shopping areas, restaurants, street performers, and lots of boats and sea lions! We watched some funny sea lion shows where the big marine animals bark and flop around on the docks. Fisherman's Wharf also has Pier 39 which is a mall with shops and more sea lions that you can see sunbathing on the wooden planks. We ate delicious clam chowder in a bread bowl for lunch. It was so yummy! I also got to try Ghirardelli chocolate which is made in San Francisco. We took a boat tour of the bay from Fisherman's Wharf and went all the way out under the Golden Gate Bridge. It was beautiful seeing the cityscape from the water. One of my very favorite parts of our San Francisco trip was going to the Exploratorium. This huge museum is filled with hundreds of science exhibits that are all interactive and hands-on.You can touch everything and do experiments which makes learning science so much fun. I got to build structures, watch liquid freeze instantly using liquid nitrogen, and learn about electricity and sound waves by making things light up and ring. My little brother loved the area with big foam blocks and tubes where you could create crazy structures and ramps to roll balls down. There were also cool exhibits about living things, the human body, the weather, and so much more. I could have spent days exploring that place! We also spent a day in Golden Gate Park which is an enormous park right in the middle of San Francisco. It has gardens, playgrounds, lakes, sports fields and courts, and even a Japanese garden, conservatory, and museum. We rented bikes and rode around the park, stopping to have a picnic lunch by the lake. I saw my first raccoon up close in the park! After biking we went to the Japanese garden and saw a classic Japanese house, bonsai trees, stone lanterns, and a beautiful zen garden. The zen garden was raked rocks and sand in patterns that looked like ocean waves. It was so peaceful and pretty.Another super cool San Francisco experience was riding one of the historic cable cars. These cable cars are like streetcars that are pulled along by giant underground cables instead of beingself-powered. You ride on the outside hanging off the sides and it's a blast! The cable cars go up and down the extremely steep hills of San Francisco, ringing their bells at every turn. Our car operator told us funny stories as we rode and I felt like a historic San Franciscan from a century ago. Riding the cable cars is one of the most iconic San Francisco activities. We also got to explore some of San Francisco's most famous neighborhoods like Chinatown, Haight-Ashbury, and the Mission District. Chinatown is packed with Chinese restaurants, shops, and beautiful pagoda architecture. We wandered through their stunning Buddha temple and I saw live turtles and fish for sale at the markets. The Haight-Ashbury area used to be the center of the hippie movement in the 1960s. It's still a funky, colorful neighborhood with vintage stores and hippy-style murals everywhere. The Mission District has amazing Mexican food with yummy burritos, tacos, and churros. My favorite thing we did there was seeing the incredible street art. There are huge, vibrant murals covering almost every building which makes the whole neighborhood feel like an outdoor art gallery. Our San Francisco trip was unforgettable! I got to experience such an amazing mix of culture, history, nature, food, and fun activities. From learning about science to riding cable cars towandering colorful neighborhoods, there was something awesome around every corner. San Francisco is unlike any other city I've been to with its iconic landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge, steep hills, Victorian houses, and the sparkling San Francisco Bay. California is such a special state with perfect weather, beautiful scenery, and so much to explore. I feel so lucky I got to visit and can't wait to go back someday!篇5My Favorite Country and City - The United States and New York CityHi there! My name is Alex and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about my favorite country and city in the whole wide world - the United States of America and New York City! The United States is a huge country with 50 different states. It's located in North America and is bordered by two oceans - the Atlantic Ocean on the east coast and the Pacific Ocean on the west coast. The U.S. has lots of different landscapes like mountains, deserts, forests, beaches, and big cities. Some of the most famous places in America are the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park with its hot springs and geysers, the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor, and theGolden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. The U.S. has four very different seasons - spring, summer, fall, and winter. In the summer it's hot and sunny, perfect for swimming and playing outside. But in the winter, many places get really cold and snowy!Americans speak English, but the country is made up of people from all over the world with different backgrounds and cultures. Some popular American foods are hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, tacos, and apple pie. Baseball is a big sport along with American football, basketball, and ice hockey. My favorite place in the whole United States is New York City! It's located in the state of New York on the east coast. NYC is an enormous, bustling city with over 8 million people living there. It's made up of five different boroughs - Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island.Manhattan is the most famous borough and is home to iconic landmarks like the Empire State Building, the 9/11 Memorial, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Times Square with its huge bright lights and video screens. Manhattan has so many tall skyscrapers squeezed together on a long, narrow island.Getting around New York is easy with the subway system that has underground trains going everywhere. The subway is aquick way to travel, but the city can also get very crowded with tons of people, taxis, and traffic! New York has delicious food from all cultures like pizza, bagels, hot dogs, Chinese, Mexican, and more. Some of my favorite things to do in NYC are going to museums like the American Museum of Natural History with its huge dinosaur skeletons and the intergalactic Planetarium show.I love exploring the lush, green oasis of Central Park where you can rent bikes, take horse and carriage rides, visit the zoo, and see street performers. The bright lights and chaos of Times Square are mesmerizing at night.New York has amazing toys stores like the Lego Store, Nintendo World, and the 4-story Toys R Us with an indoor Ferris wheel! Of course, no visit is complete without aStop at the Statue of Liberty, which commemorates freedom and the American dream. Riding a ferry around the iconic skyline and checking out the awesome views will blow your mind. While NYC has energy and excitement around every corner, it also has plenty of quieter residential neighborhoods with families, parks, schools, and smaller local shops and restaurants. Whether you're into culture, food, entertainment, or just soakingup the non-stop action, New York is the capital of the world and a place like no other!I feel so lucky to have been born in the United States and to live near New York City. It's one of my favorite places on Earth and I hope you get a chance to visit this remarkable city someday! Thanks for reading about my beloved country and its most famous city. USA! USA!篇6My Awesome Trip to London, EnglandHi friends! I just got back from the coolest trip ever to London, England with my family. London is the capital city of the country of England, which is part of the United Kingdom. I had so much fun and saw so many amazing things, I can't wait to tell you all about it!England is an island country located off the northwest coast of Europe. It's part of the United Kingdom along with Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The United Kingdom is a really old country with a ton of history going back over 1,000 years! The British Empire used to control a huge part of the world, including the 13 colonies that became the United States.Even though England is a relatively small country, it's packed with awesome things to see and do. We spent most of our time in London, which is the biggest city in England and one of the biggest cities in the world with over 8 million people! London is an extremely old city that was founded almost 2,000 years ago by the Romans. It's filled with centuries of amazing architecture and landmarks from different eras of British history. Our first stop was Buckingham Palace, which is the official London home of the British Royal Family. We got to see the famous Changing of the Guard ceremony where the Palace's guards march and switch shifts. Their red jackets and big fuzzy black hats are so cool! We also visited the gorgeous St. Paul's Cathedral which has one of the biggest domes in the world. It was destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666 but then rebuilt into an incredible cathedral. One of my favorite things we did was ride the giant Ferris wheel called the London Eye. It's one of the tallest Ferris wheels in the world and you can see the entire city of London from the top! We also visited the Tower of London, which is an ancient castle on the River Thames that used to be a fortress, palace, and even a prison. We saw the amazing Crown Jewels of the British monarchs there, including some ceremonial crowns and sceptersstudded with thousands of diamonds, rubies, and other gems. So sparkly!Speaking of the River Thames, we took a boat cruise down that famous river and learned that it flows right through the heart of central London. We saw so many iconic London landmarks from the boat like the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben clocktower, the Tower Bridge drawbridge, and more. The Houses of Parliament is where the UK's government meets and has the most amazing gothic architecture with ornate stone carvings everywhere. And Big Ben is one of the world's most famous clocks - every hour you can hear its giant bell chiming! We also spent time exploring some of London's awesome museums. The British Museum has the largest collection of historic artifacts and treasures from ancient civilizations all over the world. I got to see real Egyptian mummies, the Rosetta Stone that helped decipher Egyptian hieroglyphs, samurai swords from Japan, and so much other incredible stuff! The Natural History Museum was another favorite with its massive dinosaur fossil skeletons and exhibits on geology, biology, and the natural world. The food was also amazing - I tried my first plate of fish and chips with thick potato fries and mushy peas. We had afternoontea and little sandwiches with clotted cream and jam at a historic tea house. And I even drank a warm mug of traditional English breakfast tea one morning!Overall, my trip to London and England was unforgettable. The history, culture, iconic landmarks, and bustling energy of that amazing city made it such a fun experience. I feel so lucky I got to visit and learn so much about England. I definitely want to go back again someday because there's still so much left to explore! London really is one of the world's most fascinating and vibrant cities. Cheerio!。
