The Story of Steve Jobs
This is the text of the Commencement Address by Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer. In the Stanford University commencement, he told about his family background and his seeking studying experience. As an unwed college graduate student, his mother decided to put him up for adoption and the previous adopters who are achieved the high-education changed their mind to have a girl. Having no alternative, his biological mother put him up to couples who didn’t have high education. Meanwhile, his new parents promised that he would someday go to college.
At 17 years old, Steve did go to the college. Under the double pressure of the little value of the college and the expensive tuition, he decided to drop out to learn what he wanted and interested. Sometimes, he would go back school to have classes what he needed. Losing the advantageous study condition, he just struggled with the harsh reality. Luckily, he found the beautiful calligraphy instruction in the Reed College. So he made his mind to take the class to learn the typefaces and the techniques to combine the various letters to vary the space.
The god always favors the prepared person. And something connected the dots .When the first Macemerged, he added the knowledge into the design and made the huge difference. Steve told us that during the fight, our courage, destiny, karma even failure wouldn’t let us down, and those dots would be connected someday when we looking backwards.
