建筑中的“钩心斗角”结构便是很好的例证。
心是指宫室的中心，角是指檐角，诸角向心，叫“钩心”；诸角彼此相向，像戈相斗，叫做“斗角”。

欲成就杰作，须往小说的深层用力。
在小说的表层结构之下，有文化结构存焉。
无论是千姿百态的行业文化，难以精确定性但又确实存在的地域性文化，还是国族性文化如儒家文化、道家文化，亦或是更大范围内的宗教文化如佛教文化、伊斯兰教文化，均可以内化为文本的深层结构。
