For I have sworn before you and Almighty God the same solemn oath our forebears prescribed nearly a century and three quarters ago.

In your hands, my fellow citizens, more than in mine, will rest the final success or failure of our course. Since this country was founded, each generation of Americans has been summoned to give testimony to its national loyalty. The graves of young Americans who answered the call to service surround the globe.公民们,我们方针的最终成败与其说掌握在我手中,不如说掌握在你们手中。

Ladies and Gentlemen,Good morning/afternoon/evening. It is a great honor to stand before you today and share with you some thoughts on a subject that has always been close to my heart: overcoming challenges and the power of perseverance. My name is [Your Name], and I am a [Your Profession/Field of Expertise]. Throughout my life, I have encountered numerous obstacles, but it is through these challenges that I have learned the true value of determination and hard work.Let us start by acknowledging that life is not a smooth journey. We all face difficulties at one point or another. Whether it is a personal setback, a professional roadblock, or a global crisis, challenges are an inevitable part of our existence. However, it is how we respond to these challenges that defines our character and determines our success. The first step in overcoming challenges is to recognize that they are not insurmountable. Many people give up too easily, assuming that the obstacles in their path are too great to overcome. But the truth is, if we take a moment to pause and reflect, we can often find a way around or through the difficulties we face. One of the most inspiring stories of overcoming adversity is that of Nelson Mandela. He spent 27 years in prison for fighting against apartheid in South Africa. Despite the hardships he endured, Mandela never lost hope. He believed in the power of forgiveness and reconciliation, and his unwavering determination eventually led to the end of apartheid and his election as the first black president of South Africa. Mandela's life teaches us that even in the darkest of times, we must never give up on our dreams.Another remarkable example is J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series. After facing numerous rejections from publishers, Rowling decided to finish the manuscript of her first novel in a train station while traveling. Today, the Harry Potter series has sold over 500million copies worldwide, making Rowling one of the best-selling authors of all time. Her story demonstrates that perseverance can lead to extraordinary success. So, how do we cultivate the resilience needed to overcome challenges? Here are some key principles that have guided me throughout my life:1. Embrace failure: Failure is not the end of the road; it is merely a stepping stone. When we fail, we learn valuable lessons that help us grow stronger and wiser. Instead of seeing failure as a defeat, view it as an opportunity to improve and try again.2. Set clear goals: Define what you want to achieve and create a roadmap to get there. Setting specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals can help you stay focused and motivated.3. Develop a positive mindset: A positive mindset is crucial for overcoming challenges. When you believe in yourself and your abilities, you are more likely to push through obstacles and reach your goals.4. Surround yourself with supportive people: Having a strong support system can make a significant difference in your journey. Surround yourself with friends, family, and mentors who encourage you to persevere and believe in your dreams.5. Stay flexible: Life is unpredictable, and things don't always go according to plan. Be willing to adapt and adjust your strategies when necessary. Flexibility allows you to navigate through unexpected challenges with ease.6. Take care of yourself: Physical and mental well-being are essential for resilience. Make sure to prioritize self-care by eating healthily, exercising regularly, and practicing mindfulness or meditation.7. Celebrate small victories: Celebrating small achievements along the way can keep you motivated and focused on your ultimate goal. Remember that every step forward is progress, no matter how small. In conclusion, overcoming challenges is a journey that requires perseverance, determination, and a positive mindset. By embracing failure, setting clear goals, and surrounding ourselves with supportive people, we can overcome any obstacle that stands in our way. As we navigate through the complexities of life, let us draw inspiration fromthe lives of Nelson Mandela and J.K. Rowling, who have shown us that with unwavering determination, we can achieve the seemingly impossible.Thank you for listening, and may you find the strength and courage to overcome the challenges that lie ahead. Together, we can create a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come.God bless you all.。

Ladies and Gentlemen,Good evening. It is an honor and a privilege to stand before you todayto celebrate the achievements of some of the most remarkable individuals in the history of medicine. Medicine, as a field, has been shaped by the brilliant minds and relentless dedication of countless individuals who have contributed to our understanding of the human body, the treatmentof diseases, and the improvement of human health. In this speech, I will highlight the lives and works of a few medical giants whosecontributions have left an indelible mark on the annals of medical history.First and foremost, let us remember Hippocrates, often referred to asthe "Father of Medicine." Born in the 5th century BCE, Hippocrates was a Greek physician who laid the foundation for the practice of medicine. His "Hippocratic Oath," a code of ethics that is still followed by doctors today, emphasizes the importance of honesty, compassion, and the pursuit of knowledge. Hippocrates also introduced the concept of "humors" to explain health and disease, and his work on the human body, including the Hippocratic Corpus, has been foundational in the development of modern medicine.Next, we must pay tribute to Sir William Osler, known as the "Father of Modern Medicine." Born in 1849 in Canada, Osler was a Canadian physician, scientist, and academic administrator who made significant contributions to the field of internal medicine. He emphasized the importance ofclinical observation, detailed patient histories, and the integration of clinical and laboratory findings. Osler's textbook, "The Principles and Practice of Medicine," became a cornerstone of medical education for generations, and his approach to patient care and teaching has inspired countless medical professionals.Moving forward in time, we come to the 20th century, where the field of medicine saw remarkable advancements. One of the most influentialfigures during this era was Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of penicillin. In 1928, Fleming accidentally discovered that a mold called Penicillium notatum could kill bacteria. This discovery revolutionized the treatment of bacterial infections and earned him the Nobel Prize inPhysiology or Medicine in 1945. Fleming's work laid the groundwork for the development of antibiotics, which have saved millions of lives since their introduction.Another remarkable figure from the 20th century was Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. Born in 1820 in Florence, Italy, Nightingale was a British social reformer and statistician who became famous for her role in the Crimean War. She revolutionized the nursing profession by emphasizing the importance of cleanliness, sanitation, and patient care. Nightingale's statistical work on hospital mortality rates also highlighted the need for better healthcare systems and has had a lasting impact on public health. In the realm of immunology, Dr. Jonas Salk stands out as a medical hero. Born in 1914 in New York, Salk was an American medical researcher and virologist who developed the first successful polio vaccine. His worknot only saved countless lives but also laid the groundwork for future vaccine research. Salk's dedication to finding a cure for polio and his belief in the power of science to improve human health have inspired generations of medical professionals. In the world of cardiology, we must mention Dr. Robert Elliot, the pioneer of heart surgery. Born in 1911 in the United Kingdom, Elliot was a cardiac surgeon who performed the first successful open-heartoperation in 1948. His groundbreaking work on the heart, including the development of new surgical techniques and the use of heart-lung machines, has greatly improved the treatment of heart conditions and saved countless lives. As we continue to explore the history of medicine, we cannot overlookthe contributions of women in the field. Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, thefirst woman to receive a medical degree in the United States, was a groundbreaking figure in the fight for gender equality in medicine. Born in 1821 in England, Blackwell went on to establish the first women's medical school in the United States, the New York Infirmary for Womenand Children, and to become a prominent physician in her own right. In recent years, the field of genetics has seen remarkable advancements, thanks to the pioneering work of Dr. James Watson and Dr. Francis Crick. In 1953, these two scientists discovered the structure of DNA, a breakthrough that has had a profound impact on our understanding of genetics, disease, and the potential for personalized medicine. Their discovery earned them the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1962.Ladies and gentlemen, as we reflect on the lives and works of these medical giants, we must remember that their contributions have not only improved the quality of human life but have also inspired future generations to pursue careers in medicine. The dedication, curiosity, and compassion of these individuals have been the driving force behind the incredible advancements we see in the field of medicine today. In conclusion, it is essential to celebrate the achievements of these medical pioneers, whose work has shaped our understanding of health and disease, and whose lives have inspired us to strive for excellence in the practice of medicine. As we continue to face new challenges and strive for advancements in healthcare, let us remember the legacy of these great minds and the invaluable lessons they have taught us.Thank you.。

My Favorite Color
Blue has always been my favorite color, and I think it will
always continue to be so.
I have several reasons for liking this color best. First,
it is a very soothing color and makes people happy. How do people
feel when they wake up to day when the sky is a dirty grey? Sad
and gloomy. But when the sky is a deep blue, good cheer and joy
enters our hearts.
Another reason why I am most partial to blue is that it is
the color of oceans and rivers and lakes on a sunny day. Whenever
I go swimming, I feel as though I were reborn.

In my estimation, blue is a very refined a noble color.
I have several suits of clothes of different colors, but somehow
blue seems to be most becoming to me. At the same time, all my
friends say that I tend to look slim and taller whenever I’m
dressed in blue.
I have also heard that in English, the term “true blue”
means to be faithful. As I have a great respect for the quality
of faithfulness, this is one more reason for my liking blue so
much.

with my parents. On the way we all highly praised a young man in
western-style clothes and leather shoes who was riding by. But
he rode so fast that he knocked an old lady down
carelessly.Instead of stopping, he pretended not to see this and
rode away quickly. We were all very angry with the young man. To
our happiness, a girl in plain dress ran forward at once, helped
the lady up and took her home. We all praised the girl.
From this we know we cannot judge a person by his appearance.
A person who is dressed beautifully may not have a beautiful soul.
Only a person who has a beautiful soul is really beautiful.
