音译+意译这种方式既弥补了单纯音译 法表意能力差的缺点，又在某种程度上 避免了一些难译词在意译时可能出现的 语意误解，词不达意，表达累赘等弊病 ，因此是最为常见的译法之一。 不过这种翻译方法中有几点值得注意：

景点作为地名的一种，基本上都是以 词组或者短语的形式出现，从其语法 结构上分析可以表示为专有名称+种 类名称的偏正词组形式。在实际运用 中，专有名称采用音译（主要是拼音 法），也有用意译（主要是直译）； 种类名称则一般采用意译中的直译。 这样的译法主要有下列三种形式：

音译 即完全用汉语拼音來译写景点名称。 由于该策略过于异化，难以传达景 点名称信息，因此，在实际中纯译 音的景点名称译名不多见。 译音主要用于翻译专名： 1.景点名称中的专名若为自然地理名 称或人名，通常译音。比如，河姆渡 遗址Hemudu Site,洪秀全纪念馆 Hong Xiuquan Memorial。 2.有的景点名称中的专名不是简单译 意就能表达清楚，也往往译音，比如， 龙华寺Longhua Temple。

意译
即用英语译出汉语景点名称的意义， 常见于以下几种情况： （1）翻译景点名称中的通名，比如， 把“亭”译作pavilion。 （2）翻译景区名称中通名前的属性 名，比如，“温泉旅游度假区”译作 Hot Spring Tourist Resort。 （3）全名译意。

（3）全名译意。 这种译法因译者往往只注重翻译字面意义，常常导 致误译。 比如，西湖十景之一 “断桥残雪”被译成Melting Snow on Broken Bridge。译名听上去很有韵味， 但却有悼原意。该景点本是一座“桥”，在译名中 却成了“雪”：断桥上正在融化的雪。此桥为一拱 桥，只因冬日雪后桥面上积雪融化，桥两端依然覆 盖在皑皑白雪中，远远望去，给人一种似断非断的 感觉。因此，“断桥” 只是写意，并非真的“断” 了，译成Broken Bridge 成了写实，反而令外国游 客费解。另外，此处还有白娘子与许仙“断桥相会” 的动人故事。类似这种具有丰富含意的人文景观并 非三言两语能够解说清楚的，更何况只有区区几个 词的景点名称。最好把传递文化含意的重任留给景 点介绍。因此，翻译这类景点名称宜全名译音，其 后再增添一个通名： Duanqiao Canxue Bridge

(1)用拼音标注的专名部分不表意，只 将其整体视为一个语素单位，故在音译 时一般合写，例如Xinduqiao(新都 桥），Yerenhai(野人海）等。

(2)若专有名词为单音节的通名，如江 河湖海、园林建筑等，应顾及音韵和英 语习惯读法，通常将种类名词视为专有 名词的一部分，按专名处理。即先采用 音译方法与专名连写，将名字后隐含的 “湖” “山”和“园”等同时音译出 来（而双名则不必）。后重复意译，构 成专名整体。如Hailuogou Valley(海 螺沟），Pacmanshan Mountain(跑 马山），Daduhe River(大渡河）等。
