切忌匆忙下笔，而应先吃透原文；然后再考虑其中某一句子的翻译；即在推敲某个句子前，先弄清全文意思。
理解过程中障碍可用以下方法排除：A.找出主题句找出主题句就等于抓住了文章的“纲”。
B.理清上下逻辑关系离开上下文，语言所表达的意思就会模糊不清。
段落中的每个句子都跟上下文构成一种逻辑关系，或并列关系，或总分关系。
这样，即使对某个句子不十分理解，通过分析上下文逻辑关系也能正确判断它的意思。
对生词，可通过仔细阅读上下文，就可找到解释。
段落与句子的关系是链条和链节的关系。
C.注意语言标记词标记词对理解句子和段落大意有重要作用，如but, however 表示转折，therefore是对上下文的概括，in other words是对上文的解释说明２．表达过程智力服务于中国，提高企业与个人整体竞争力第1页理解大意的基础上，将仔细推敲过的划线句子用纯正汉语表达出来，就是表达过程。
千万不要受原文形式束缚而翻译出让人费解的句子。
