I always thought becoming a grandmother would be a good experience. When my only child, David, and his girlfriend, Line, got married, both were in their early thirties. They weren't inany hurry to have a baby, so I simply accepted that no new branch would grow on my family tree. It didn’t matter to me as long as they were happy. One morning in early December, my husband and I woke up because of a loud knock at our bedroom door, followed by my sons voice urging (催促) us to get up .We jumped out of bed and thought that something bad may have happened .“What's wrong?”I asked“Nothing, "David said to me. I wanted to give you an early Christmas present, "he said excitedly“ But we agreed not to exchange gifts this year,”I said.“ And we“Mom, please listen to me. You will become a grandmother," he interrupted(打断)me.I was happy and rushed up to hug and congratulate my son. I was excited but I knew I was not so enthusiastic compared to most people. Even my husband was doing a victory dance across the living room floor.I spent the next few months saying and doing what was expected of a grandmother-to-be. I was worried about Line's health and asked her about the result of every checkup. I helped plan a baby shower. I chose names back and forth until we were all satisfied. I also enjoyed selecting other things for a baby and a mother-to-be Finally, Kara, my granddaughter, made her appearance two weeks early, so we had to waituntil the next day to see her. Meanwhile, Line mentioned a backache several times that day. I whispered to my son that he should keep an eye on herParagraph 1:The next morning, when my husband and I arrived at the hospital, David was holding Kara._______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________Paragraph 2:From then on, I felt very happy at every moment I spent with Kara._______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________参考答案:Paragraph 1:The next morning, when my husband and I arrived at the hospital, David was holding Kara. Before I could speak, David placed Kara into my arms. Then he went to take care of Line. I looked carefully at the littlebaby. I touched each of her fingers carefully so as not to wake her up. As I did so, she took hold of my finger, opened her eyes and looked at me. As a grandmother, all I wanted then was to hold the precious child in my arms foreverParagraph 2:From then on, I felt very happy at every moment I spent with Kara. My husband was also happy when staying with her. Kara was the best present for the whole family. I often patiently took care of her and fed her. I refused to go out to have fun with my friends and to go travelling with them. What I wanted to do was enjoy the happiness with Kara at that time. Boys like to be considered to be brave, but what kind of things can be considered to be brave? It is not a question that can be answered by words, but by the actual deed. A boy with the name Henry gave us a good example. Ronny and Henry were two friends in the same class. They always played together and went home together. One day as Ronny and Henry were going home after school, they saw some people fighting in the street corner. Ronny said excitedly, “Some people ar e fighting! Let's go and have a look!” But Henry refused, “It's none of our business. We'd better go home and don't get close to them. Also our parents are expecting to have dinner with us together at home and I don't want them to worry about me.”“You are a coward, and afraid to go,” said Ronny, and off he ran to the spot with some other boys. Henry had to go home alone and didn't think about it anymore. But Ronny thought Henry was a coward and told all the boys that. They laughed at him a great deal. From then on, they looked down upon Henry and didn't want to play with him.Henry was sad but he wasn't angry with Ronny for his rude behavior, because he had learned that true courage was shown most in bearing misunderstanding when it was not deserved, and that he ought to beafraid of nothing but doing wrong. Thus, he just ignored the other boys' laughter and continued to stick to his thought and go to school and study as well. However, Ronny didn't invite Henry to go home with him anymore. Instead, he had his new friends who also thought Henry was a coward. Every day after school, they didn't go home directly but went to the river or somewhere to play games and had lots of fun.注意:1. 所续写短文的词数应为150左右;2. 续写部分分为两段,每段开头语已为你写好;Paragraph 1:A few days later, something terrible happened to Ronny. __________ Paragraph 2:At that moment, Henry happened to pass by.______________________ 原文解析be considered to be brave? One afternoon after school, Ronny was swimming with some of his new friends in the river as usual. Laughing and talking loudly, they were having great fun. All of a sudden, Ronny got stuck in the mud and couldn't move. He struggled to get out but all in vain. Like a duck in a thunderstorm, he screamed for help. All his new friends who also had called Henry a coward got out of the water as fast as they could. Scared to death, they did not even try to help him at all.Paragraph 2:At that moment, Henry happened to pass by. He heard the screams and rushed to the river without any hesitation.Seeing Ronny was almost drowned, Henry jumped into the water without second thought. He reached out his hand to Ronny just as he was sinking. With great effort, and neglecting the danger to himself, he brought Ronny back to the shore. Exhausted but delighted, Henry saved his friend. With tears of gratitude welling up in his eyes, Ronny apologized to Henry,“You are my true friend. You are the bravest man ”英语读后续写(二)阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完成的故事。

My great-grandmother Eileen is fierce, loyal and strong and a bit of a legend in her own lifetime, which now stretches to 92 years. I should add that we’re not allowed to call her Gran, because she says it makes her feel old. That summer, I lost my job and felt hopeless. One day, I paid a visit to her. She picked up a box which she placed on the coffee table.“There you go,” she said. “You do know what you’re doing with these things, don’t you?”It was a new phone. Her current mobile was pretty ancient. I was amazed it was still going.“Yes,” I said.“Good. That’s why I ask you. You young people know more about such things than us oldies. You can take it home with you and get it all set up,” she went on. “Then, when you bring it back, you can show me how to use my new phon e, such as getting on the internet, sending e-mails and so on.” She smiled so sweetly that I felt a surge of love for her.I grabbed the box and stood up. Setting up the phone would be easy. It was teaching her how to use it that may prove challenging(强调句).The following day I headed back to my great-grandmother’s with the phone. “Here’s your phone. It’s al l ready to use.”For the next hour, I was busy setting up her passcode and fingerprint recognition, which she said was like something out of James Bond. She chose a picture for her screen and it was all going so well until I tried to show her how to swipe (滑动屏幕). “What do you mean, swipe?” she asked. She was 92, I reminded myself. This had been tiring for her.She pressed at the up arrow and got angry when nothing happened. When I finally got her to swipe, she didn’t put the right amount of pressure on and the menu slipped away. After what seemed like hours, she threw the phone across the room and it landed on the sofa.“Take it away!” she howled. “I want my old phone back!”I picked up the phone and was about to leave to give her time to cool down when I realized I didn’t want to go home when she was angry and upset.注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;2.请在答题卡的相应位置作答。

I jammed my hat down on my head, stroked Cowboy's big red neck and entered the arena. We tore around the final curve and shot for the finish line.No cheers filled the air when I finished my show. The end of our run was met with surprised silence. When I was in middle school, my social studies teacher asked me to enter a writing contest. I said no without thinking. I did not love writing. My family came from Brazil, so English was only my second language. Writing was so difficult and painful for me that my teacher had allowed me to present my paper on the sinking of the Titanic by acting out a play, where I played all the parts. No one laughed harder than he did.So, why did he suddenly force me to do something at which I was sure to fail? His reply: “Because I love your stories. If you’re willing to apply yourself, I think you have a good shot at this.” Encouraged by his words, I agreed to give it a try.I chose Paul Revere’s horse as m y subject. Paul Revere was a silversmith (银匠) in Boston who rode a horse at night on April 18, 1775 to Lexington to warn people that British soldiers were coming. My story would come straight from the horse’s mouth. Not a brilliant idea, but funny; and unlikely to be anyone else’s choice. What did the horse think, as he sped through the night? Did he get tired? Have doubts? Did he want to quit? I sympathized immediately. I got tired. I had doubts. I wanted to quit. But, like Revere’s horse, I kept going. I worked hard. I checked my spelling. I asked my older sister to correct my grammar. I checked out a half dozen books on Paul Revere from the library. I even read a few of them. When I handed in the essay to my teacher, he read it, laughed out loud, and said, “Great. Now, write it again.” I wrote it again, and again and again. When I finally finished it, the thought of winning had given way to the enjoyment of writing. If I didn’t win, I wouldn’t care.注意:1. 续写词数应为150个左右;2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

2022届高考英语读后续写精选四篇(含范文)第一篇(2022·惠州高三第一次调研)In our kitchen, there was a wooden table and three chairs —one for Dad, one for Mom, and one for me. In the cellar (地窖), the very last jar of apple jam lay quietly on the shelf, waiting to be turned into an apple pie when Dad came back. Mom sat at one end of the table. I sat in the middle between her and Dad. I tried not to look at Dad's empty place. Dad had gone to the city to look for work for a long time.Every night, I lay awake in bed and waited for the train to stop. I waited to hear the creaky (嘎吱作响的) sound of the gate Dad was going to fix when he came home. I waited to hear the sound of his work boots dropping on the step by the kitchen door, and his voice calling, “I'm home!”Every night, as I lay there, I stared at the window and the curtains made of empty flour sacks (麻袋) by Mom.Every night, Mom came to kiss me goodnight—after the train had gone by. She was listening, too. “Go to sleep. Your dad wi ll be home soon. Maybe for the holiday.”Time dragging by, finally came the day before the holiday. I went to sleep with the sound of train wheels in my head, whispering, “Maybe tomorrow, maybe tomorrow.”Early the next morning, the smell of coffee woke me. I ran into the kitchen. There he was! Dad lifted me onto his shoulders and pretended to stagger from my weight. “How's my boy? You've gotten so big that I can barely lift you up any more.”He put me down, and I stared at the two sacks on the table. One said FLOUR—I knew that word. I tried reading the other: S-U-G-A-R. Dad whistled admiringly and winked at me. Mom and I had been practicing my letters most days. I could see that Mom was pleased with me. “I'm going to bake a pie for your Dad's homecoming dinner. Jimmy, bring me that jar of apple jam from the shelf in the cellar,”Mom smiled at me.注意:续写词数应为150左右。

Thanks to my conservative(保守的) Jewish background, I didn’t believe in angels. That is, not until Christmas Eve of 1979, when an angel brought unexpected joy to my home. After divorce, my two daughters not only lost the security of a whole family, they also tearfully left behind neighborhood friends, a familiar school, and a large house. These had all been replaced with a narrowtwo-bedroom apartment in a poorer part of town.I arranged to take my vocat ion during my children’s winter school holiday. We spent evenings planning activities: cookie baking, games, a pizza night, and evening car rides to view neighborhood holiday lights. With expectation, they seemed to be in good spirits. The week before the school break, however, terrible news of family disasters arrived. By Christmas Eve, gloom clouded our vacation plans. An afternoon outing for movie did little to improve our mood.On returning to our apartment, we were astonished to see a beautiful, six-foot Christmas tree propped(支撑) against our front door. In silent wonder, we looked back and forth, from the tree to one another and around the empty street. Excitement built, and the girls begged to keep the tree.“Maybe it’s for us,” insisted my older daug hter.第1页/共3页千里之行,始于足下“Yeah,” echoed my younger child. “I bet an angel brought it to us!”I laughed aloud at the idea of an angel bringing a Christmas tree to a Jewish family. Caught up in their happiness, I pronounced the tree “ours.”We dragged it inside and headed out to the only supermarket in our small town open that late on Christmas Eve. With holiday goods marked down to half price, I gave a nod of approval to a tree stand(底座), two boxes of multicolored balls, a package of six Santa figurines(小雕像), a 100-foot string of mini lights, and one paper angel.Paragraph 1:Back home, we moved “our” tree into our tiny living room.Paragraph 2:The annual winter holiday became a family tradition. One possible version:Back home, we moved “our” tree into our tiny livi ng room. This story took place in France during World War II. At the edge of a large forest lived a French girl named Marie. She spent her time looking after goats in the forest. One day, she was sitting on a fallen tree when she heard a voice from behind the bush. It said ,“Don’t look around , but listen carefully . You know the little window in the roof over your bed. Tonight , at 11 o’clock , stand on your bed and hold your lighted lamp just under the window for ten minutes .And then put out the light and go to sleep.” The girl did as the unseen man told her . To her great joy, she heard a plane flying round and over her cottage. “I’m helping the plane!” Marie said to herself. At that time thousands of French people were hiding in the forests and mountains to resist the Germans. They were in need of food and weapons, which had to be dropped to them from planes coming from England. In this way, Marie carried out her task . Then one morning Marie met the owner of the voice, a young French soldier. He sat near her and said, “ Thank you, Marie, for what you have done for the country. Tonight is very important. Things of great value will be dropped here and the light must be shown at 3 o’clock in the morning. Can you keep awake till then? ” “ I won’t fail.” Marie nodded. Night fell. Suddenly, two German soldiers burst into her cottage, with the guns in their hands. They searched the cottage and remained in her room and she was forbidden to go outside. She sat still, wondering what she could do. She couldn’t stand on the bed to show the light any more. She remembered her promise to the French soldier. At the same time, the two enemy soldiers were asleep and all was quiet.
