We cannot afford to lose the courage to try againGood evening ,my dear judges. Today my topic is we cannot afford to lose the courage to try again. To be honest, when the topic came to me ,it just drove me crazy . I confess I’m a greedy person .There are many things I cherish,I cannot afford to lose. Until last weekend , I watched the movie 《The Shawshank Redemption》again，and some scenes impressed me .Andy wrote to the state senate and requested funds for building a library from them .He wrote many times ,but got no answers. He said nothing but continued to write letters to them ,a letter a week. It took him six years that the state government finally allocated the enclosed funds for his library project. It remind me of my experience as a salesman when I was a freshman. My roommate and I found a part-time job as a salesman. At the beginning , we were both excited and promoting our product to passerby passionately. However, in the next few hours, we got no customers. Many passerby refused directly or just ignored us. When I saw this scene , I felt disappointed and my pride was deeply hurt. I wanted to give up ,but my roommate asked me to try one more time , if we failed, then we gave up. I agreed. This time ,we met a friendly man ,and we made our first deal. I will never forget this experience. It made me understand how important to keep the courage to try again when you failed .
