This style of food is a fusion of Mexican and American cuisine and is known for its bold flavors and use of spices. Some popularTex-Mex dishes include tacos, enchiladas, and fajitas. Oneof my favorite Tex-Mex restaurants is El Tiempo in Houston. They have amazing margaritas and their fajitas are to die for.Kolaches are a lesser-known Texas specialty, but they are just as delicious. These pastries originated in Central Europe and were brought to Texas by Czech immigrants. They are a sweet or savory pastry filled with ingredients like sausage, cheese, fruit, or cream cheese.
