South Korea’s first female President, Park Geun-Hye, took office on Monday. As the newly elected leader of Asia’s fourthlargest economy, Ms. Park is facing tough challenges ahead, including a slowing economy and soaring welfare costs. The National Health and Family Planning Commission said in its daily update on H7N9 cases that a total of 127 H7N9 cases have been reported in China, including 24 that have ended in death. Twenty-four cases, including three deaths, have been reported in Jiangsu Province, and 40 cases, including five deaths, in Zhejiang Province.
