《童年》这本书记叙了主要人物阿廖沙悲惨的童年生活。在阿廖沙3岁的时候，他的爸爸就去世了，于是他的妈妈就带着他去外祖父家居住。可是，外祖父又是一个脾气暴躁的人，动不动就打阿廖沙，他的两个舅舅更是讨厌他，在全家人里面，只有外祖母最疼爱阿廖沙。
其实阿廖沙就是高尔基本人，只不过借助阿廖沙描写他本人的童年惨事，让我深深地体会到了旧社会人的凶残面孔。
再看看我们现在的童年，和高尔基的童年相比太幸福了，我们的童年是灿烂的，没有争吵与打闹。想要什么东西就有什么东西。而高尔基的童年是黑暗的，许许多多的争吵与打闹在他的身边。我们一定要好好珍惜现在的生活，不要把它当成浮云，我们的生活来之不易！
