Among these organizations, Badi Foundation is a typical one.Established in 1990, Macau, Badi Foundation is an independent non-profit, non-governmental organization and its representative offices are set in Beijing. It aims at giving ability to women in poverty-stricken areas and developing the capacity of individuals and institutions through the study and training work.Working in China for more than 20 years, the foundation is always focusing on designing and conducting education and training programs. During this progress, the foundation has a tight cooperation with many governmental agencies and academic institutions, including poverty relief office and woman’s federations at various levels. Moreover, the foundation also cooperate with the United Nations Develop Programme （UNDP）,the United Nations World Food Program(WFP), the United Nations Children’s Fund(UNICEF) and other international organizations. With great support and encouragement from these partners, the foundation projects are greatly promoted.The first attempt of the foundation in the field of formal education is that it developed School of the Nations in Macau. Though the school was founded before the appearance of Badi Foundation, the school has changed a lot after the foundation has been responsible for all aspects of the school administration and management. The scale of the school has expanded gradually and the school also designed a comprehensive method to concentrate on promoting students’ all-round development. In 2008, with the support of Macau government, parents, alumni and other related people, the school built advanced new campus, further expanding the scale of school and improving the ability of community service.In 2005, Badi Foundation started the institutional capacity building projects in order to enhance the way of development in China. The foundation promoted the establishment of non-governmental organizations in rural areas in China and then provided training and support for these organizations to achieve the target of cultivating these institutions to carry out projects.Badi Foundation believes that development is to cultivate the ability of development as the goal. With this purpose, individuals and institutions can efficiently participate in the construction of material civilization and spiritual civilization by training. Because human beings not only has the ability to contact information, but also can be fully involved in the production and use of knowledge power. Everyone’s participation can only be determined by its capabilities.Based on this idea, Badi Foundation’s environmental construction projects focus on poor areas. But the foundation doesn’t only draw the attention to the economicdevelopment of rural community. What’s more, the projects concentrates on individual study, which affect the family subsequently and finally lead other villagers to build a harmonious community.However, the current situation of China indicates that adult men generally work in the cities so rural women undertake the farmland and family responsibility. Women are the first educators of children and they also pay attention to the happiness and stability of family. Besides, as farmers, women play a vital role in protecting all community food and economic security. Consequently, the society has a responsibility to realize the great value of women. Thus, Badi Foundation’s environmental construction projects adopt women into the project and consider their real demand. The project tries to propel some women to donate their spiritual force to the development of community and let them to strengthen their personal advantages. Hence, what the project gives to the women is not only the opportunities of having a new understanding of themselves but also the opportunities to devote their skills, knowledge and attitude.In these years, Badi Foundation has carried out several projects to encourage individual and institution’s active learning. For example, the foundation motivates teenagers to think and create, which provide innovative talents to society. Meanwhile, Badi gives Chinese village new management way. At the same time, the increasingly loose public environment offers Badi Foundation chances to develop.
