致癌危害：塑料袋的成分-‘塑料’中含有极微量的高度致癌物——二恶咽（燃烧时更易产生二恶咽）。
长期使用，特别是用于包装油、脂等，易“浸泡”出来，误食后将直接致癌。
不易腐烂危害：它虽然含C元素，但不可被微生物直接利用，导致长期不腐烂。

避光恒温如深埋泥土中，则可长期不变样。
潜在危害
潜在危害是指塑料废弃物进入自然，环境后难以降解而带来的长期的深层次环境问题。
其危害包括以下几个方面：1、一次性发泡塑料饭盒和塑料袋盛装食物严重影响我们身体健康。
当温度达到650C时，一次性发泡塑料餐具中的有害物质将渗入到食物中，会对人的肝脏、肾脏及中枢神经系统等造成损害。
我们现在用来装食物的超薄塑料袋一般是聚氯乙烯塑料，早在四十年前，人们就发现聚氯乙烯塑料中残留有氯乙烯单体。
当人们接触氯乙烯后，就会出现手腕，手指浮肿，皮肤硬化等症状，还可能出现脾肿大，肝损伤等症。
在我国，我们用的超簿塑料袋几乎都来自废塑料的再利用，是由小企业或家庭作坊生产的。
这些生产厂所用原料是废弃塑料桶、盆、一次性针筒等。
生产时，首先用机械把原料粉碎成塑料粒子，再把塑料粒子放在“一个水池里清洗（名日消毒）取出来晒干，再用机械把它压成膜，制成种塑料袋。
每次吃饭时，就有不少人用塑料袋装饭菜，他们不知道这种行为不仅危害环境，也危害自己的身体。
2、土壤渣土化。
垃圾直接施用于农田，或仅经简易处理后用于农田会破坏土壤的团粒结构，理化性质和保水、保肥能力。

塑料袋的确给我们生活带来了方便，但是这一时的方便却带来长久的危害. 塑料袋回收价值较低，在使用过程中除了散落在城市街道、旅游区、水体中、公路和铁路两侧造成“视觉污染”污染外，它还存在着潜在的危害。
塑料结构稳定，不易被天然微生物菌降解，在自然环境中长期不分离。
这就意味着废塑料垃圾如不加以回收，将在环境中变成污染物永久存在并不断累积，会对环境造成极大危害。
一次性塑料袋的好处:
塑料袋基本没好处，只是方便了那些爱偷懒的人。
