In the past decade, psychological health has surfaced to catch more people’s attention. Most people now have realized that physical health should not be the only concern, for some health problems like anxiety and depression are most of the time generated from tense psychological state.
When I try to trace the origin of modern people’s psychological problems, two causes occur to me. First of all, people today are living in a society with such faster pace than ever before. Tight schedules thus keep them in a nervous state throughout the day. Another reason is that people today are facing mounting pressure in school and job market. Tough market leaves tens of thousands of people out of job and forces them to study harder and work harder. The fear of not being able to find a job and losing current job usually results in psychological breakdown.
Since we are living in such a stressful society, psychological problem seem to be inevitable. However, in my opinion, it is not necessary to worry too much about it. By employing appropriate approaches, we are able to find right ways to channel our emotion and mind. Reading DIY books on psychological adjustment, actively involving in social activities or talking to a professional psychiatrist will all make contribute to building a balanced and peaceful mind.。
