The names of the various members of a family.
How to introduce people.
4.Teaching difficulties:
Students can introduce their family members and others using the key vocabulary and the target language learned in this lesson.
5. Teaching aids: computer; powerpoint; record; a family photo of the teacher, family photos of the students (提前让学生准备，带一张自己家庭的全家福，家庭成员越多越好)
6.Teaching steps:
Step1. Warm up:(5 minutes)
T: Now it’s time to have our class. Hello, boys and girls.Nice to meet you.
Ss:Nice to meet you ,too.
T:What’s your name?
S:My name is …
T:What’s this in English?
S:It’s a book.
T:What’s that in English?
S:It’s a photo of my family.
T:How many members do you have in your family? Can you tell me how to call them in Chinese?
Ss:爸爸，妈妈，爷爷，奶奶，弟弟，妹妹
T：But can you tell me how to call them and introduce them to other people in English? Today we will learn some new words about family.
Step2.Presentation:(10 minutes)
T: Show a picture of Big head son,let Ss learn the new words.
Ss:Father.
T:Yes, he is my father. Write the word “father”on the Bb. Group 1 read it, girls read.（标father ,mother 的发音[a:][Λ]）
Ss:Read it.
T:We can call “father”“dad”.(Use the same way to teach the word “mother”“mom”)
Ss:Group 3 read it,all of Ss read it.
T:Point to the picture, who are they?
Ss:Parents.
T:Yes,good,they are my parents.
Learn other new words:
grandfather(grandpa),grandmother(grandma),brother,sisters,friends.(采取教师读学生
跟读，小组读，男生读，女生读，分排读，学生个人读等学习新知识)
T:Look at the blackboard and read these new words loudly following me, and then repeat each other.
Ss:Read the words loudly.

Use the letters to make words.用打乱的字母拼写单词。

2a ) Listening(5 minutes )
T: Turn to page8 and look at 2a. Let’s look at the words, listen to the tape and circle the words you hear.Are you ready?

T:Now listen.
Ss:Listen and finish the exercises.

Ss:Yes.
T:Ok, check your answers.Call a student say his answer.

2b. Listen again. Match the names with people in the picture.

2d) Role-play the conversation. (10 minutes)
T:Listening is important,next part to practice our oral English.
Let Ss read the conversation .First teach some names:Sally , Jane,Kate.
Ss:Read in groups.
T:Let four Ss play the role.Each student can get one point for their group.(请5--6组同学表演，换成学生的名字，模拟真实情景)
Step 6:
Complete the passage with the words in the box.Then draw a picture of Paul’s family.(用实物投影展现学生的作品)
Step7:
Show the photo of your family and write some sentences to introduce your family members.(10 minutes)
T:Give Ss 3 minutes to prepare.

Step 8:Sum up:(5minutes)
T: After this class we have known some words about family members. What’s the meaning of “family” ?What is family?
Ss:Look at the computer.
T:F means father, M means mother .As we grow up ,our parents become old .So when they are tired ,we should give them a shoulder .We should help them keep out wind and
rain.Maybe we learn well ,we can give them a good shoulder .This is “family”: Father
and mother I love you.Love our families and our family members.
Step 9: Homework: Draw a picture of your family and say something about it to your friends.
