Developing Economy or Protect EnvironmentIt's an undeniable fact that with the rapid progress of economy, our environment is deteriorating. Some people believe that priority should be given to development of economy, but some conservationists argue that environmental protection is of the first priority, and that economy growth cannot be achieved at the cost of environment.It seems that economic development and environmental protection cannot coexist at the same time. In my opinion, however, equal importance should and can be paid to the both aspects.For one thing, economic progress can solve a variety of social problems, like unemployment, housing, medical care and education, etc. It can improve people's living standard on the whole .Like Mr. Deng Xiaoping said: "development is the absolute principle." For another, environmental protection is of vital importance. We cannot expect to live a better life with the degrading environment, which may backfire in the certain aspects if left unprotected. The importance of ConfidenceWhatever one does, one should do it with confidence. If one has no confidence, there is little possibility that one would ever achieve anything, especially when one is faced with drawbacks or hardships .This truth seems to be self-evident. However, in reality we do see a lot of people who complain that they lack the ability to do something or that their difficulties are too great to be overcome .For someone, this might be true. But for many others, this only shows that they have lost heart.Why do people often feel frustrated even though they are capable of doing some thing? There are, among others, two main reasons, First, these people do not have a correct estimate of themselves. Second, they overestimate the difficulties.It is possible to build up faith in oneself by having the right attitude towardone's own abilities. We should never underestimate our abilities and should believe in the proverb: "Where there is a will, there is a way." Confidence is the promise for fulfilling a task successfully.四、Diligence is the key to Success1.对“勤奋是成功的关键”涵义的理解；2.成功不是靠运气；3.了解成功重要性的意义。

Diligence Is the Key to SuccessDiligence is the key to success. It means persistent work and does not mean that we are to exhaust ourselves all day and night without any rest. The true meaning of diligence is the careful use of time for the purpose of self-improvement.Many people strongly believe in luck, which is a serious mistake. If luck does exist, it will never fall upon lazy bones. There are also some people who think that they are far superior to others in intelligence and therefore, do not need to study hard. They are sure about their success, but too often they will be disappointed, as few of them can be successful only with their so-called cleverness.In fact, time is always fleeting and can never be re-gained. The really clever people are those who understand the importance of diligence and make it their habit.
