我们村西有一条河，流水清澈，平平的河滩廓大宽展，自远处眺望，浅亮亮的河水仿佛是铺晾在沙滩上的一派银箔，轻轻闪烁。
农村兴订婚，“订”者“定”也，仪式既简单又庄重，记得订了婚的第二天，她随我涉水过河以后，有意地、稍稍拉开些距离，不即不离，不紧不慢地行走在匀净细软的沙滩上。夕阳衔山，晚烟萦树，河那边农家矮矮的房屋半掩在烟霭里，上下远近静极了。她不上二十岁，刚刚撞破乡下小女儿的“壳”儿，正要步入农家姑娘的行列。我斗胆拧过头去，想仔细瞧瞧她。她那儿仿佛早就防我呢，倏地摆过脸去，避开了我，故意注视那落日。顺着她的眼光瞄过去，西方天际遥远的地平线上起伏着矮矮的黛青色的山峦，那就地绵延着的黛青色与她那披下的洁亮浓密的乌发是同一个色调。半边脸颊红红的，与衔山半隐的落日遥相映衬，如火的晚霞从侧面铺张开来，勾画出秀婉窈窕的一尊倩影。
她没有回头，却轻轻放过一句话来：“村里那么多赢人、出众的女子，你咋就……”
“村里人说你聪敏、灵性。”我回答。
