English“。学生是学习的主人.在英语阅读教学中,我们应首先学生阅读的方法。
1．学会猜想词义
英语阅读的最大障碍是词汇，有的孩子在阅读过程中一遇到不认识的单词就感到束手无策，往往停顿不前，影响阅读速度和信心。因此首先要告诉学生在阅读中出现不认识的单词是正常的`，并教孩子要学会根据上下文以及语境来猜想生词的第 2 页 共 40 页 意思。即找出与生词相关的语句，根据语句的描写来猜想词义。生词问题解决了，就为以后的阅读铺平了道路。
2．养成略读的习惯

3．用英语思维
养成整体阅读的关键在于它既不是默读〔心读〕而不是朗读，是通过目光在英语与大脑之间建立直接的联络，即英语思维。这是一个简捷快速的过程，阅读时要把母语抛在脑后，指导学生逐步确立英语思维的习惯，而非母语英语之间的翻译转换。在经过一段时间的阅读训练之后，要在阅读课上注意培养学生的这种语感。

一、引言
随着全球经济一体化和我国日益融入wto体系，国家对高职高专英语教学的培养目标提出了更高的要求，首先就要求学生有较高的阅读能力。由于受条件和课时的限制，仅靠课堂教学难以实现培养目标。英语课外阅读是课堂教学的延伸、扩展和补充，是提高阅读能力的重要途径。而阅读能力的提高又能提高学生英语学习的兴趣，增强学生学习英语的自信心，带动听、说、写、译。如何有效地进行英语课外阅读成为广大师生关注的问题之一。
二、高职高专生英语课外阅读现状
高职高专学生英语基础参差不齐，学习习惯欠佳，学习能力有限。经过对本校百余名高职高专生的问卷调查发现，他们当中仅有不到百分之五的学生会时不时进行英语课外阅读。很少或从未进行英语课外阅读的学生反映，他们的主要困难包括“可找到的适合的英语材料太少，多数阅读材料太难，看不懂”， “对英语阅读没兴趣”，“文章长的，读到后面忘前面”和“没有时间读”。
针对该现象，教师应把课外阅读纳入教学计划，把引导学生阅读课外读物视为教学内容的组成部分。
三、具体实施方法
（一）注重教师的熏染作用
“身教胜过言教”，教师的文化素养和底蕴对学生的阅读起着潜移默化的作用。教师要带头阅读，才能引导学生阅读；教师要喜爱阅读，才能引导学生爱上阅读。因此，教师自身要保持广泛的阅读面和一定的阅读量，以便经常把优秀的书刊文章推荐给学生，并善于抓住时机与学生谈论自己的读书心得，让学生感染课外阅读的乐趣。教师还应该尽可能地为学生创设英语阅读的环境。比如，在教室里放置一个小书架，放上一些英文报刊。
（二）优化课外阅读材料
课外阅读能否取得应有的成效，材料的选择起着至关重要的作用。除了遵循“内容健康”的原则外，选择材料还应该注意一些其他的问题。
