I'm really excited to dive into the new units and learn more English! In Unit 1 titled "A Letter to Ivy", we will learn how to write friendly letters and notes. The unit focuses on proper letter formatting, greetings, closings, and expressing thoughts and feelings. I think writing letters to my English penpal will be great practice. The language points cover sentence patterns like "What does...look like?", "I think..." and using adjectives. I need to study the new vocabulary words too like "scenery", "accent", and "foreigner".Unit 2 is called "Making a Chocolate Banana". I can't wait because we get to learn recipes and instructional language! The unit teaches us imperative sentences and sequence words for giving step-by-step instructions. We will practice following andgiving directions, which will be useful for many situations. It is a story unit where we will read an engaging story passage by passage. The grammar focuses on using "if...will/won't" to describe hypothetical situations and consequences. This grammar will be great for telling stories and making predictions.I love reading mysteries, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how this story unfolds!Overall, this new book looks really engaging with a nice mix of practical topics and fun stories. I'm so excited to share my plan for learning English this semester using our new Guangdong textbook. English is one of my favorite subjects, and I can't wait to improve my skills even more. Here's what I'm looking forward to:Unit 1: My HobbiesThe first unit is all about hobbies, which is perfect because I have so many! I love playing basketball, reading comics, and doing science experiments. I'm really looking forward to learning vocabulary words related to my hobbies so I can discuss them in English. The dialogues in this unit will help me practice asking and answering questions about hobbies. And I heard there's a fun project where we get to make posters showcasing our favorite pastimes. Can't wait!Unit 2: Festivals Around the WorldHolidays and festivals are always so much fun to learn about. In this unit, we'll be exploring different celebrations from various countries and cultures. I'm especially excited about the Reading section, which has excerpts describing exciting festival traditions. The Grammar focus on adjectives will help me describe thevibrant sights, sounds, and flavors in detail. I wonder if we'll get to sample any traditional festival foods? A guy can dream!Unit 3: Protecting the EnvironmentTaking care of our planet is so important, and I'm glad this unit will teach me ways to discuss environmental issues in English. The vocabulary list has lots of useful "green" words like recycling, pollution, and conservation. And from the example dialogues, it looks like we'll practice expressing opinions and giving advice about environmental protection. I take the environment pretty seriously, so I'm sure I'll have plenty to say during our discussions! Maybe we can even organize a campus clean-up.Unit 4: Travelling in ChinaWith so many amazing places to visit in our country, this is definitely a unit I need. The Reading passages introduce different cities and tourist attractions, which will expand my knowledge of China's diversity. The Language Notes section breaks down useful travel phrases like "Where is the entrance?" and "How much is the ticket?" Practicing this kind of functional language will really help if my family goes on a trip during the upcoming holiday.Unit 5: My Future JobWhile it's still a few years away, I've started thinking about potential career paths. This unit will allow me to explore different professions and discuss my skills, interests and goals. The Job Interview dialogues look really valuable for practicing how to promote myself. And analyzing job advertisements will teach me the kind of qualifications I'll need. I can't decide if I want to be a scientist, athlete or comic book illustrator when I grow up. Maybe this unit will provide some clarity!Unit 6: A Balanced LifeThe final unit seems to emphasize overall well-being, which I think is super important. The Grammar notes cover ''d better' and 'should' for giving suggestions — probably about having a balanced lifestyle. The Reading discusses the benefits of exercise, nutritious eating, and limiting screen time. While I don't love being nagged, I know these are habits I need to work on. Discussing ways to live a balanced life in English will be motivating. I'm definitely going to try some of those healthy recipes!I truly believe this new textbook will make my English skills even stronger across all areas: reading, writing, listening and speaking. The interesting topics will keep me engaged, and allthe practice activities look fun and interactive. Old textbooks could be a bit boring, but this one seems cool, modern and super relevant to my life. With hard work and participation, I'm confident I'll become an English master by the end of the semester! Let's do this!。

教师通过故事人物小清的清明节三天假期计划,巧妙地把本单元八个目标单词:surf the internet, play with friends, read books, have a picnic, make models, take photos, help dad, visit relatives和将来时态融入到语篇材料中。

本课时一开始借助清明节图片探讨主题意义的理解,通过询问学生“Do you know Qingming festival?”“What do you know about it?”让学生在已有知识上回答出“Yes.”,“It’s on April 5th. ”,“We have 3 days vacation.”,“The vacation is from April 5th to April 7th.”等等。

教师再通过问题“What do people do during the vacation?”进一步深入探究主题意义,了解清明节假期具体活动。

根据学生以头脑风暴的形式所反馈的答案,顺其自然地引出小清的清明假期活动计划。

接着,学生在问题“What is Xiaoqing going to do on April 5th /6th /7th ?”
