I. Analysis of the Teaching Materials

通过本单元前两课时的学习，学生基本上激活了已有的语言知识，对本单元的话题（pollution and environmental protection）已经有所感知，对于environmental problems, how to

solve air pollution, how to solve waste pollution等内容有了更深入的学习。本课时的阅读文段Save the sharks！这个关于动物的话题是学生比较感兴趣的内容，但是部分词汇，如food chain,

ecosystem, industry和个别句型结构较为复杂，学生理解上应该有一定的难度。我可结合课堂实际情况，指导鼓励学生小组学习，讨论认知新的复杂的语言结构，扫清阅读障碍。

II. Analysis of the Students

九年级学生应该对生态系统已经有了一个比较全面的了解，而鲨鱼也是学生所了解的一种在食物链最顶端的动物，对本文当中所提到的鱼翅汤，学生的映像是一种比较好的食材，但在本文当中，学生们将了解到鲨鱼正从世界慢慢消失这一现实，同时了解原因，以及这一现实将会给世界带来什么样的后果，这些因素学生都比较感兴趣，同时对于学生今后的环保意识的树立起到了很好的作用。
