1. Reeving on Drilling Line1.1 Operational RequirementsA. Pre-job meeting must be held before the reevingoperations commence.B. Direct communication among all personnel isessential during this operation.C. The drawworks anchor clamp assembly on thefast line end must be changed out, as a whole, each time a new one is installed.D. Traveling block hanging strops and shackle,snake and safety harness must be inspected before this operation commences.E. All crew members working in derrick must wearsafety harness.F. A visual inspection of the drilling line shall be donebefore the procedure commences.G. Check and ensure the proper size andspecifications of the replacement drilling line.H. Avoid scrubbing the new drilling line against thederrick and the substructure.I. The new drilling line must be reeved onto thedrawworks drum under tension.J. The new drilling line should never be allowed to touch the ground where dirt or sand could be picked up.K. Inspect crown sheaves for wear prior to installation of drilling line.Special care should be taken to ensure the drilling line is not kinked.1.2 Reeving on Drilling Line from New Spool to Replace Existing Drilling LineA. Hang off the drill string in slips and install the Kellycock (in the open position), on the drill pipe.B. Disengage the crown-o-matic.C. Hang off and secure the traveling block with thededicated hang-off line.D. Operation Manual to the Down-hole Drill1. The down-hole drill is a new, highly efficient and extensively applied open-air rock drilling equipment designed by our company, which is extensively suitable for small and medium sized mines and the projects such as communications, national defense, water conservancy and stonework, in particular the rough and rugged terrains and land forms where other drills are unable to operate normally.2. The operators should be well trained to master operation techniques, maintain the machines and tools properly, replace wearing parts in time, and keep the machine operate efficiently.3. The down-hole drills have models of SM100, SM110 and SM110, all of which are capable of drilling vertical and horizontal blast holes.They h ave low gravity centers, excellent detachability and are easy-handling.4. The down-hole drill shall be used with drill rod, impactor and drill bit. Down-hole drills can be equipped with CIR65. CIR80 or CIR90 impactor. SM110 down-hole drills can also be equipped with CIR110 impactor besides the above three models of impactors. Users can select appropriate impactors according to the actual demand.Attention: In order to maintain normal rock drilling speed of thedown-hole drill, coping shall be conducted periodically to the drill bit stelidium. The height of the stelidium after coping should be 9-9.6 mm.5. The normal applied air pressure range of The down-hole drill is 0.5-0.7 MPa (pressure). When in operation, the user should select appropriate air pressure value. Too high pressure may reduce components’ service life and even directly damage the components. On the contrary, too low pressure may seriously affect rock drilling efficiency and even make the drill out of operation.Down-hole drillSM100 down-hole drillSM100 down-hole drill uses respectively hydraulic oil and compressed air as motive power and conducts rock drilling in a mode of air–liquid tandem drive. SM100 down-hole drills have simple structures, low prices and can save energy. On the basis of the advantages of original pump station, split-structure is adopted. When in operation, multi points operation can be achieved via only moving the operating console instead of moving the power source frequently. So the operation is more convenient and much quicker.Benefit to operatorThe diesel engine of SM100 down-hole drill adopts remote electric start and the operator can keep a distance of more than 30m from the drill. With its excellent safety operation performance, the drill can effectively reduce the inroads of dusts on operators.Flexible configurationSM100 down-hole drill is a set of unit consisting of SM100 down-hole drill and CY11 hydraulic pump station. The hydraulic pump station equipped with rubber wheels is easy to move. After the drill and the pump station are transported to the site, usually first install the drill and then install the operating console and the pump station at an operation location with appropriate distance.2. During drill installation, first place the drill frame base stably (See Fig.1) in accordance with the positions of the drilled holes (Prepare a piece of flat ground in advance in case of tough terrains), install the leg assembly (11) and erect the drill frame and adjust the machine gradually to the required drilling angle, then install the base plates (13) onto the two legs that should be supported at appropriate positions (Use pins to tighten the expansion legs), tighten the clamping nuts of the legs and the nuts of drill frame base locating tab, and finally install in turn counter weight B (12) and the counterbalance shaft as shown in Fig.1. Install equivalent counter weight A (6) on the two sides as required and insert pins. The installation of the whole drill frame is completed.3. After drill installation, lay the pump station at a certain distance from the drill (usually no more than 30m) and firmly fix the wheels. Attention: The place for pump station installation should be flat and the installed pump station should be stable and not easy to roll over or slide off. The view of the place should be excellent, fromwhich all the operation condition of the pump station can be observed. Moreover, the unit can not easily be contaminated by the dusts from rock drilling. Convenient and quick operation is guaranteed.4. Before installing the pipeline of the drill, read carefully the connecting diagram of the oil pipe and air pipe in the manual of this drill (See Fig. 2) to avoid misconnection, which will affect operation. When installing the oil pipe, remove carefully the mud and sand on the surface of oil pipe connector and oil motor connector, turn open the end cap and the end cover carefully, examine if the O sealing rings on the end surface of the connectors are missing or damaged, and then connect and tighten the corresponding connectors. Attention: During the process of tightening, do not let the sealing ring on the end surface come off. The disassembled end cap and end cover should be stored in pairs for future use. Warning: Oil pipes and connectors should not be contaminated by foreign matters such as sand and soil!The drill and the operating console should be connected with the matched F38 rubber tube. One end of the tube is connected to the 90O knee elbow at the speed reducer and the other end to the air pipe connector on the operating console (close to the oil atomizer end). The external air source can be directly connected to the airpipe connector of the operating console with rubber air tube (close to the ball valve end).Inspection and commissioning before operation1. Carefully inspect to see if the drill and the pump station are installed stably and if the connecting bolts are tightened. If not, adjust and tighten as required.2. Examine carefully according to Fig.2 to ensure that there is no misconnection of the pipelines, the connectors are firmly connected and there is no oil leakage or air leakage.3. Examine if the water, engine oil and diesel oil of the diesel engine of the pump station, the hydraulic oil of the pump station, and the lubricating oil in the oil atomizer meet the requirement.4. Before commissioning, place all the control handles at the mid-position, i.e. the start position, and put the air switch in the air intake OFF position. (See Fig.3)5. Turn on the pressure reducing valve switch (See Fig.4) to make the hydraulic oil (sucked by the oil pump at start-up) directly flow back to the oil tank for the purpose of light-load start-up. After the machine operates normally, turn off the pressure reducing valve switch and the machine can operate normally (Electric pump station is not equipped with this switch).6. Put the two hydraulic control handles of the pump station at theunload start position, start the diesel engine or motor (diesel engine should first operate at a low speed for a few minutes), pilot run the hydraulic system and then commission according to the following steps:(1). Gently push and turn the handle to the forward rotation position (See Fig.4) to see if the rotation direction is identical with the rotation direction indicated by the arrow on the drill rod ferrule. Then turn the handle to the backward rotation position to see if the operation is normal. At that moment, the system pressure should be less than 5 MPa.(2). Put the rotating handle at the unload start position and push the propelling handle gently to the propelling position. At that moment, the propelling pressure is usually 3.5-5 MPa and the system pressure is 9-10 MPa. Then change the handle to the lifting position and move back and forth for several times (It is necessary to touch the strike dogs at the two ends of the carriage each time.). The movement should be free and flexible.(3). If the above movements do not comply with which shown on the nameplate, stop the machine and check immediately and then conduct commissioning according to the above steps.7. Turn on the air switch, blow out the dirt in the pipeline such as soil and sand, turn off the switch, and then connect respectively thedrill rod transition connector and the impactor as shown in Fig.1 (During this process, take measures to prevent foreign matters from entering the impactor; otherwise the impactor should be disassembled for cleaning). Gently push the propelling control handle and install the drill bit into the locating sleeve (put the two halves together for use) after it passes through the fixing case at the front end of the guide rail (which is welded on the guide rail). Grasp the impactor to ensure that the position does not deviate during drilling. The commissioning of the whole unit is completed and rock drilling operation can be conducted now.SM110 down-hole drillUsing electric motor and air compressor as mo tive power, electric down-hole drill adopts electric rotation and pneumatic lifting, propelling and impacting for rock drilling. Using air compressor as motive power, SM110 fully pneumatic drill adopts pneumatic rotation and pneumatic lifting, propelling and impacting for rock drilling. It has simple structure, stable performance and high rock drilling efficiency. Moreover, it has low gravity center and excellent detachability and is easy-handling.More extensive applicabilitySM down-hole drill can be used with CIR110 impactor and the diameter of the blast hole can reach 130 mm. The oil atomizer withhigh performance can provide the impactor with very good lubrication, which ensures that the impactor optimizes performance and prolongs the service life.Benefit to operatorDown-hole drills complete their functions of propelling, lifting and rotating the rod via an independent operating console. The installation of the whole drill frame is completed.Inspection and commissioning of down-hole drillbefore operation1. Adjustment of propelling pressureThe propelling pressure of the drill is usually adjusted at 0.25-0.35MPa. As for the adjustment, first pull outward the pressure regulating handle, loosen counterclockwise the pressure regulating handle of the pressure reducing valve, and then operate the propelling handle to propel the speed reducer to the front end of the guide rail. Turn clockwise slowly the pressure regulating handle of the pressure reducing valve to regulate the propelling pressure to the rated value.Warning: When regulating the pressure, the pressure reducing valve should first be regulated to the minimum pressure and the regulation should be conducted gradually from low pressure to the rated pressure. It is strictly prohibited to quickly tighten the pressure regulating handle to avoid sudden formation of peak pressure and the occurrence of unexpected injury.Operation of down-hole drillsdown-hole drills are usually operated and used by two operators. One is responsible for the operation on the operating console and the other for connecting and disconnecting the drill rods at the drill. The two operators complete the rock drill operation together.1. Operation can be directly conducted if commissioning has been carried out according to the above steps.2. Hole drilling: Turn on the control switch to supply air to the impactor. In the mean time, operate the propelling handle to propel slowly with a small propulsive force (the propelling handle is not completely pushed to the place) to make the drill bit close to the ground. The impactor begins to impact and drill the hole. Turn the tumbler switch to forward rotation position. The drill rotates and menwhile impacts. After drilling the rock for 0.2m deep, operation can be conducted with normal propulsive force (the propelling handle is at the propelling position).Attention: Small propulsive force is required for hole drilling. It is absolutely prohibited to raise the drill frame away from ground to prevent it from overturning and cause personal injuries.3. Drill rod connection(1). When the lower flat square of the drill rod transition connector closes to the end surface of the locating sleeve, the air intake, impacting, rotation and propelling should be stopped.(2). Fix the long wrench into the lower flat square of the transition connector. If the wrench is easy to become loose, push the wrench in slightly to press the wrench tightly; however, do no t press it too tightly and then turn the basic shaft counterwise.(3). After the long wrench impacts the dog, the connecting threads of the drill rod transition connector and the drill rod ferrule (with flatsquare hole) become loose and then lift the connector slowly. After they are divorced from each other completely, stop rotation and lift the revolution mechanism quickly.(4) When it is lifted to the upper end of the guide rail, stop lifting and then take off the long wrench fixed in the transition connector for connecting the drill rod.(5). Clean out the dirt in the drill rod (to prevent the dirt from entering the impactor) and then case the lower end of the drill rod (internal thread end) onto the transition connector of the drill rod. Turn a few rounds manually and the cylinder pushes the upper end of the drill rod (external thread end) into the drill rod ferrule. Gently push the drill rod and meanwhile rotate positively to make the drill rod firmly connected with the ferrule threads. Stop pushing and rotating and take off the impactor locating sleeve (the locating sleeve is only used for guiding the impactor while impacting and drilling holes). Do not let the locating sleeve fall into the hole and the drill is able to continue operating.(6). Likewise, when the lower flat square end of the drill rod closes to the fixing case (the locating sleeve has been taken off), connect in turn the drill rod according to the above steps till reaching the preset hole depth.4. Drill rod disassembly(1). When drilling to the preset depth, one can begin to disassemble the drill rods (See Fig.5). Insert the long wench as shown in Fig.5 (a), turn the ferrule of the operating drill rod backward and meanwhile slowly lift it. The upper end of the drill rod separates slowly (In this process, the long wrench should be prevented from falling into the hole). Stop lifting after the drill rod is completely separated from the ferrule.(2). Propel slowly to make the internal hole of the ferrule onto the upper end of the drill rod, stop propelling and turn gently to make the notch of the ferrule aligned with the upper flat square of the drill rod and then stop rotating. As shown in Fig.5 (b), the inserted short wrench has fixed the drill rod and the ferrule. Pull out the long wrench. (If the long wrench is tightly jammed, turn an angle and then tap gently and pull the wrench out from the other end). (3). As shown in Fig.(c), lift the drill rod gradually. When the lower flat square end of the second drill rod is lifted to the f ixing case position, stop lifting and insert the long wrench (In order to prevent the wrench from falling into the hole, the wrench should be set upright all the time). Turn the drill rod backward and lift it gently till the two rods are completely separated. Stop turning and lifting. (4). Pull out the short wrench and take off the drill rod as shown in Fig.5 (d).(5). T o disassemble the second drill rod, repeat the steps shown in Fig.5(b), (c) and (d). All drill rods are thus disassembled in turn. Note: It is unnecessary to disassemble the impactor and the transition connector.Precautions for Down-Hole Drill Operation and Maintenance1. Before a new machine is put into operation, disassemble the machine to remove the rust-proof oil on the internal components of the impactor. When reassembling, apply lubricating oil on the component surface.2. Before each operation, purge the air pipes, drill rods and connectors to prevent foreign matters from entering the impactor and causing component abrasion or sticking.3. Too high pressure may reduce components’ service life. On the contrary, too low pressure may seriously affect rock drilling efficiency and even make the drill out of operation.4. Operation without lubricating oil is not allowed.5. During operation, check if the air pipe connectors, cylinders and motors at any time are loose or if the connections of the drill are firm; otherwise, stop the machine for repair.6. During hole drilling, backward rotation is not allowed to avoidloosen drill rod and prevent the drill rod threads from wearing.7. The drill motive force should be appropriate to ensure that no jump is caused during the impactor operation.8. Once it is discovered that the hole position deviates during drilling, the deviation should be corrected in time. Move the drill upward and downward repeatedly to repair the hole wall and avoid drill stuck.9. When it is discovered that the metal bits from the drill bit have fallen into the hole, the bits should be sucked out of the hole with a magnet in time.10.
