下面，我将从教材分析、教学方法，教学程序、三个方面进行阐述。
点教材分析包括以下三个方面; 教材的地位与作用，教学目标及重、难点，学情分析与教学方法。
第一、本课的地位和作用本单元围绕Our Local Area主题展开，谈论有关房间、居住环境和问路的对话以及短文的学习，使学生能够用英语谈论房间内物品摆放的位置，居住环境和邻里关系，并能够用英语问路和指路。
本话题Topic2 My home is in an apartment building.是在第一个话题的基础上继续学习房屋的有关表达法，巩固和拓展there be句型。
本节课是在上节课的基础上进一步学习社区周边设施及其环境的表达，并复习有关租房的表达，因此教师在教授英语知识与技能的同时，还要培养学生处理好邻里关系，帮助学生形成乐于助人的品德。

1.The traffic is heavy and the cost of living is high.
(1)heavy为词，意为“多的；繁忙的”，在此表示“交通繁忙的”。
如：She has a heavy day
today.今天她忙了一天。
【拓展】：heavy也可意为“重的，大的。
如：The rain is .雨很大。
表示“交通拥挤、繁忙”还可以用busy.如：
It’s rush hour now.The traffic is heavy.=It’s rush hour now.The traffic is busy.现在是高峰期，交通非
常拥挤。
(2) the cost of living，其中cost为词，意为“花费，费用”。
cost也可以用作动词，意为“花
费”，其主语通常是物。
如：A rose costs 10 yuan. 一枝玫瑰10元钱。
【注意】：表示价格高低时
不说cost high/low ,可以说cost a lot.
