教材分析
本单元话题是谈论世界知识，谈论地理与自然。在语法方面主要是让学生能表达较大的数字，能熟练运用形容词和副词的比较级，最高级。本单元集中呈现了大数字的读法和表示度量的结构，并进一步拓展了比较级和最高级的使用。
1a-1c是单元的导入部分。活动1a的主题图呈现了Q omolangma, the Nile,the
Caspian Sea和 the Sahara四幅图，从而引出该部分的重点，自然地理之最的相关数据。
2a-2d的重点是听和说的教学。借助我国人口，历史，河流的话题内容，将学生带入我们自己的地理与人文语境中。听力活动按梯度设计，要求学生能够通过听获取地理知识中的一些重要数据及与之相关的文化信息。
课标理念与设计说明
本单元借助世界地理知识通过语法形容词和副词的比较级和最高级谈论世界之最，复习了前面学过的知识，又补充了新的知识，让学生了解了世界知识和我国的一些自然的基本知识。在学习中能用英语介绍这些基本的知识。

今天我授课的内容是Qomolangma --- the Most Dangerous Mountainin the
World?.本节课选自初中英语人教2011课标版八年级下册第七单元What`s the
Highest Mountain in the World ?
的A部分阅读课。下面我从以下几个方面阐述授课内容。
一、教材分析
本节课是阅读课,阅读材料是关于珠穆朗玛峰的介绍。学生通过阅读了解珠穆朗玛峰的险峻和人类克服困难、挑战极限的勇气和实践精神。3a要求学生通过阅读,进一步把握文章内容,能根据文章的描述匹配段落大意。3b的活动引导学生关注细节，列出各段要点。而3c则是要求学生根据文章信息回答相关问题，更进一步把握文章内容，了解与珠穆朗玛峰有关的信息。
二、教学目标
1、知识目标：掌握四会单词及短语，熟练比较等级的句型。
2、能力目标：（1）通过搜寻信息，培养略读及寻读的技巧提升阅读能力。
（2）通过比较，了解珠峰的地理环境。
3、情感态度：培养学生勇敢挑战困难，永不放弃，勇于实现梦想的信念。
三、重难点
重点：掌握略读和寻读的学习方法；了解珠峰的地理环境。
难点：能用比较等级的不同表达句式来描述地理和自然环境。
四、学情分析
八年级学生已经初步学习了形容词和副词的比较等级和最高级的表达方法,有一定的语言基础，有较强的求知欲, 会利用教材和工具书自学词汇,有一定的自学能力，有良好的预习习惯和课堂积极发言的习惯，但是综合运用英语的能力和习惯还没养成, 从英语文章中获取信息的能力还有待提高。部分学生学习基础差,朗读课文和复述课文会有一定的难度。因此,要尊重学生，尊重小组合作的每一次成果，尽量给每个学生发言的机会, 让不同水平的学生都有成就感,从而创设民主和谐的学习氛围。
