学生了解保护环境是贴近人们生活的一个永恒的话题，培养对自然的热爱和人与自然和谐发展也是教育的目标之一，教师应充分利用这个话题展开各种教学活动。
二、教材分析根据学情，教师在处理教材时把两篇文章中的第一篇(One of the biggest problems—pollution)定位为指导性阅读，另一篇(About the water)为自主合作探究性阅读。
阅读完成之后增加了写作训练部分即：write a position using the title:Save water 三、学情分析这一课的授课对象是八年级学生，处于这个年龄段的学生相对活泼好动好表达与表现，已具备一定的语言知识与技能，具备简单的听说读写（60词左右）技能。
