安装和配置的步骤如下：1.验证软硬件环境符合安装要求2.安装 Domino 服务器3.配置 Domino 服务器4.安装 Domino 管理客户端5.安装 Sametime 服务器6.配置 Sametime 服务器o填充 Domino 目录o编辑服务器文档o提供用户注册功能7.测试 Sametime 服务器验证软硬件环境是否符合安装要求软件包中附带的“发行说明”包含有对软件和硬件的具体要求，例如对各种支持的操作系统关于芯片、内存、硬盘空间、交换空间等都有详细的说明。

系统环境上期我们讲解了IBM Lotus Domino Server的首次配置过程，这期我们就来看一下IBM Lotus Domino邮件服务器的配置方法。
在Domino系统中，邮件服务器是其最强大的系统，它也是当今市面上性能最稳定、功能最强大的邮件系统。
你可以通过这个系统来实现全部你所需要的电子邮件功能。
下面我们就来具体演示一下配置过程。
首先来回顾一下硬件环境笔记本：基础操作系统：Windows XP Professional SP3虚拟机：VMware Workstation 6.0.2 build 59824 + VMware Tools虚拟操作系统：Windows 2000 Advance Server SP4浏览器：IE6.0 SP1虚拟机中安装IBM Lotus Domino Server 7.0，基础操作系统中安装IBM Lotus Admin 7.0，用来管理和配置Server服务器。
台式机：基础操作系统：Windows XP Professional SP3虚拟机：VMware Workstation 6.0.2 build 59824 + VMware Tools虚拟操作系统：Windows 2000 Advance Server SP4浏览器：IE6.0 SP1在基础操作系统和虚拟操作系统中同时安装IBM Lotus Notes 7.0。
Lotus Notes配置Lotus Notes的安装过程就不演示了，和一般软件才不多。
有一点要注意，在安装过程中会提示选择安装的组件，如果你需要安装管理员客户端，就要选择安装Administrator组件，正常情况下是只安装用户客户端的，安装完成后还要进行配置才能使用。
执行Notes 客户端后入下图所示。
另外一点，在服务器安装后会在服务器安装目录下的Data文件夹中自动生成四个ID文件——admin.id 、cert.id 、dolcert.id 、server.id。

IBM Lotus Domino Server配置首次配置详解前言相信许多管理员都听说过IBM Lotus Domino/Note，它是IBM公司开发的一套办公协作软件。
Lotus Notes/Domino在电子协作、通讯、知识管理、流程控制等方面为用户提供了很好的解决方案，特别是Lotus Notes/Domino的邮件功能，使许多用户安装完Lotus Notes/Domino后，不用做更多的开发，即可在单位内部架构强大的邮件系统。
Lotus Notes/Domino从最早期定位为单纯的信息传送及行事系统，一直演变到至今，已经发展成为功能强大的工作群组软件，其不但可以传送Email，更可以达成审核流程、文件管理、知识管理、工作流程管理，甚至是即使通讯等等多项协同合作功能。
Lotus Notes/Domino分为服务端和客户端，应用在不同的主机上。
笔者首先利用本文讲述一下服务端的安装和首次配置的过程，为今后的深度配置打一个基础。
系统要求Domino安装基本硬盘空间要270MB，建议为其他程序和数据保留1GB剩余空间。
内存最低配置为48MB，建议配置96MB(以WINNT操作系统为例)，操作系统Wiindows 2000 Advance Server或Windows 2003 Server 以上版本。
模拟配置的环境操作系统：Windows XP Professional SP3虚拟机：VMware Workstation 6.0.2 build 59824 + VMware Tools虚拟操作系统：Windows 2000 Advance Server SP4浏览器：IE6.0 SP1Lotus版本：IBM Lotus Domino 7.0安装软件将安装光盘放进光驱，双击安装文件出现以下安装提示信息：安装提示点击“Next”进入下一步：软件许可证协议选择“我接受许可证协议中的全部条款”，点击“Next”，安装路径这一步是选择安装路径，指定Lotus基础文件安装到哪里。

安装设置Lotus Domino 5.0 中文版一、准备安装Domino1、系统要求：• Pentium以上，可以运行Windows9X或Windows NT4.0以上的机器• 内存至少32M，建议64M以上• 硬盘至少300M，但由于服务器存在大量的数据库文件，需要保留足够的空间2、安装前需要获知：• 服务器名称，和管理员名称及密码• 网络结构及使用的网络协议• 软件使用授权证书3、安装步骤：• 安装Domino服务器• 设置Domino服务器二、安装Domino1、在安装光盘中执行setup.exe，显示欢迎界面。
2、单击“下一步”，显示“是否接受软件许可证”。
3、阅读许可协议，如果接受协议，则单击“是”，显示用户信息输入窗口；否则单击“否”，退出安装程序。
4、输入软件使用单位名称和安装用户姓名，选中“分区服务器安装”，则允许您在同一台机器上安装多个服务器系统，一般情况不要选择，单击“下一步”，显示安装目的文件夹。
5、决定安装目录，您可以安装在其他硬盘，如“D:”，但建议程序文件夹使用默认的“＼Lotus＼Domino”，其数据文件夹为“＼Lotus＼Domino＼Data”，单击“下一步”，显示安装服务器内容。
6、根据购买的软件版权和需要，选择安装内容：• Domino Server:表示安装标准的Domino Server，建议选择此选项• Domino Mail Server: 表示仅安装Domino的邮件服务功能• Domino Exterprise Server:表示安装带有群集功能的Domino Server,安装群集功能的服务器，具有以下优势：o 失效转移：在一个服务器失效时，转移到群集中的其他服务器中。
o 平衡负载：能够将一个使用频繁的服务器的一部分工作转移到其他群集服务器中。
o 群集复制：为了提供服务器能够安全、高效的工作，群集中的服务器会自动复制共享信息。
7、单击“下一步”，显示输入安装程序组。

Lotus Notes/Domino 未来发展规划
在庆祝 IBM Lotus Notes 诞生 20周年之际，IBM 公布了其业界领先的 IBM Lotus Domino 平台的未来远景详情以及 Lotus Domino 家族的未来方向和产品路线图。
目前准备将在 2005年夏天提出 Lotus Notes 和 Domino 的未来远景，预计推出的 Lotus Notes 和 Domino 将扩展 Web Services 支持、自我监视服务器功能、服务器性能提高 70%。
新的 Lotus Notes 和 Domino 允许客户从其现有资产中获得更大价值并帮助他们管理总拥有成本。
“Lotus Notes 和 Domino 拥有 20多年的创新和领先历史，并将继续是业界最成功的协作平台。
”IBM 软件集团负责 Workplace 门户和协作的副总裁 Ken Bisconti 如是说：“尽管我们已经取得了巨大的成功，并且目前拥有 1.18亿用户安装量，但我们仍将以积极的路线图继续进取，保证我们在未来 20年内继续取得成功。
”
建立在当前 IBM Lotus Notes 和 Domino 远景规划取得成功的基础上，新的 R7 发布将包括一些专门为应用设计人员和技术管理员设计的新特性和功能。
新工具将使客户能自动将应用转换为基于 XML 的 Web Services，允许传统的 Lotus 开发人员利用他们的现有技能，并使机构能利用 Web Services 标准来帮助他们节约时间和资源。
预计服务器端的改进将包括一个新的自动监测工具，通过整合几台服务器上的数据，并自动向管理员报警服务器中的问题，该工具可以让客户节约资金。
Lotus Notes 和 Domino 7 还将包括与 IBM DB2 通用数据库的集成。
这一集成将使客户能够将业界领先的数据管理方案的性能和灵活性应用到他们的协作环境中，且不需要额外购买软件或服务。
除了 R7 发布以外，IBM 估计未来交互将发挥重要作用，将 IBM Lotus 软件产品的主流服务器经验演进到 IBM Workplace 平台的主流服务器经验。
Lotus Notes 在 IBM 的 Workplace 策略中的重要作用将是该产品长远未来的一个关键因素。
成功的关键 - 在市场上继续取胜
IBM Lotus Notes 和 Domino 家族的不断成功在很大程度上是因为客户的原因，这些客户从其他竞争平台转到了 Lotus Notes 和 Domino 家族。
去年，有 1400多个客户从其他竞争平台转到了 Lotus Domino 平台。
