New Opportunity To Study Abroad
What would you do if you have been offered the opportunity to study abroad at a prestigious university to complete your Ph.D which you have only dreamed about? As for me, I will accept the offer and complete my Ph.D abroad. Although there are some negative effects of studying abroad, the positive effects are far greater.
There are two important negative affects about completing Ph.D abroad. Firstly, studying abroad is expensive, tuition fees and other money problems will increase my family’s burden. Owning to my unwealthy family economic condition, I may not pay so much money which I will spend oversea. But I can win the scholarship because of my excellence, that meas I will not spend no money of my family. High cost is an important negative affect, but I can overcome it.
My second negative concern is that I will feel lonely and helpless in a new environment. Because many of my friends will remain in domestic, and it is not easily to keep in touch with them. If I need some help, there will not be any help. It may cause some psychological problems. But I can make many new friends and help each other, these problems will be deal with. Feeling lonely and helpless is also an important negative difficulty, but I can deal with it.
After considering many benefits of studying abroad, there are two that eclipse my doubts, and move me to complete my Ph.D abroad. First, studying abroad can provide a good language environment and make it easy to pick up a language. Foreign language is a tool employed to communicate with each other, there is no better and more effective way to learn a language than to immersed in a culture that
speaks the language. Studying can remove language barrier and make international cooperation much easier, I can use the foreign language in academic and everyday life. Studying abroad is the best way to learn a language.
The second, and most important benefit is that I can receive the better educational quality. Studying abroad allows me to get a new education mode. The schools abroad may have good conditions for study and I can learn the most advanced techniques aboard. Better educational quality ensure that I can improve my country’s scientific and technological level rapidly in the furure. Better eduational quality beyond seas is the most important reason which move me to complete my Ph.D abroad.
Although there are some negative effects of studying abroad at a prestigious university to complete my Ph.D, the positive effects are more attractive. High cost and lonely and helpless emotion in a new environment give me a great challenge. But a good language environment and the better educational quality move me, I will accept the offer and complete my Ph.D abroad if I have been offered the opportunity.。
