”在国际贸易中,买卖双方通过洽商,就各项交易条件取得一致协议后,交易即告达成,买卖双方当事人即存在合同关系。

国际买卖双方合同的商订是整个交易过程中最重要的一个环节,虽然可以通过口头的方式进行,但实践中,主要是通过函电的方式进行。

“函”是“封套”的意思,即是指信件,而“电”即是包括电报、传真、电子数据交换和电子邮件等在内的数据电文的统称。

所以说,函电不仅是洽商国际买卖合同的手段,而且是签订国际买卖合同的最主要的形式之一,所以说,对于建立外贸函电关系的双方来说,很大程度上取决于我们对外贸函电的再创造是否足够漂亮。

1.2 外贸函电的含义外贸函电,翻译成英文为foreign correspondence ,是指在日常的外贸交易中用以传递信息、处理商务事宜以及联络和沟通关系的信函、电讯文书。

常用的商务信函主要有商洽函、询问函、答复函、请求函、告知函和联系函等,是我们建立对外贸易关系和外贸往来的一种非常重要的沟通手段。

1.3 外贸函电的构成① letterhead(信头)信头是指信纸上印刷或打印的七爷名称、厂称、地址、电话号码等。

信头应当包含写信人的基本情况,一般置于信纸的最上方。

② date (日期)日期通常位于信头的右下方位置,或在寄信人姓名和地址的下方位置。

月份不使用缩写,也不要数字代替,一般用英文表示,第一个(收信人的名称及地址)阁下”、“先生”等类似礼貌表示知道对方姓名;如使用字母是大写,也有时缩写。

英式顺序是日、月、年;美式顺序是月、日、年。

③(收信人的名称及地址)阁下”、“先生”等类似礼貌表示知道对方姓名;如使用④ salutation (称谓)收信人姓名之前常用称呼敬语,相同于性称谓,如使用dear m./mrs./miss/ms.dear sir ,dear madam, 则表示不知道对方姓名,如见到dear prof.smith 等,则表示对方职务较高,所以在称呼敬语和姓名中间使用了职务名称。

⑤body (正文)正文是信函的实质性内容,要求语法正确、切中要害,结构上表现出段落划分明确,每段集中于一个话题的特点。

布局具有艺术性,整齐美观。

⑥ complimentary close(结尾)英语函电的结尾是写信人的谦称,相当于“敬上”的意思。

若收信人为公司,谦称则常用:yours truly,yours faithfully 等;若收信人为个人,则常用yours sincerely 等。

⑦sig nature and de-sig nature (写信人签名或署名)签署由两部分构成,一是写信人的签名,二是打印出的写信人的姓名。
