A 阅读理解“Green Games” became a calling card for the 19th Asian Games, which were held from Sept 23 to Oct 8 in Hangzhou and five other cities in Zhejiang. To make the Games the world’s first waste-free sporting event, green energy sources were used at all 56 competition venues (场馆).Some of the renewable (可再生的) electricity used at the venues was photovoltaic energy (光伏能源), transmitted (传输) from areas such as Qinghai and Gansu. Another source was wind power which was made in areas including the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.A digital management platform was also started to help achieve carbon neutrality (碳中和) during the Asian Games. On the platform, digital technologies were used for managing carbon emissions (排放) from venues in the six cities where the Games were held. The technologies included data collection and emissions reduction (减排) and evaluation.Among all of the Games’ 56 competition venues, just 12 were newly built. The rest were existing facilities (设施) repaired as part of the organizers’ mission of sustainability (持续性).The Shangcheng Sports Centre Stadium, the venue used for soccer events at the Games, was first built in 2019.During the venue’s renovation, its solar-film ceiling and spectator (观众) seating – both of which had been used for 14 years but remained in good condition – were kept after being scientifically assessed (评估). In the end, she won the women’s taijiquan and taijijian all-round gold (女子太极拳太极剑全能金牌) at the sports event.Tong’s slow but strong actions with her sword (剑) showed perfectly Chinese wushu’s beautiful mix of soft and hard moves. As a sport showing regional (区域的) culture, wushu was included in the Asian Games in 1990. An internet user pays the seller some money to abuse the victim (受害者) through social media. However, this is not right or legal. To know more about this, Teens talked to Xing Junxia, a lawyer at the S&P Law Firm in Beijing. In life, we may say bad words to people we don’t like. If it gets serious, it becomes verbal abuse. “The act of verbal abuse violates (侵犯) the victim’s rights,” Xing said. “These words usually hurt the victim’s right to reputation (名誉权), which can lead to civil liability (民事责任).” The attacker (攻击者) should stop this right away. He or she should also formally (正式地) say sorry to the victim. This is to cut down the influence of the abuse.Xing pointed out that both the attacker and the payer should bear civil liability because they do it together. In more serious situations, the attacker will face administrative penalties (行政处罚). Recently, many Chinese young people have turned to trees to help with their stress. Although it sounds strange, there’s a science behind the act of tree-hugging.It can be explained by the “biophilia hypothesis (亲生命假说)”. It was pointed out by US scientist Edward Wilson in 1984. He said that humans are born to love being around other living things. Humans’ love for nature is “in our DNA”. This idea helps to explain why people prefer natural, green views to city views. It’s also one of the reasons why people love cute pets. Some studies have looked into why tree-hugging can help with our health. A study in 2021 reported that the activity can increase oxytocin (催产素). It’s a hormone responsible for feelings. The higher the level of oxytocin is, the calmer and happier you may be. Hugging trees for only 21 seconds can lead to an increase in oxytocin.Another hormone called cortisol (皮质醇) is a marker of stress. The brain produces more cortisol when the person is anxious (焦虑的), angry, or very sad. Hugging trees helps cut cortisol production, which makes us feel better.Although the activity is helpful to us, it’s important to keep in mind that we shouldn’t hurt nature while doing it. Trees often hold valuable ecosystems (生态环境). Many small creatures live on the tree – and they are too small to be seen. You may want to be gentle when hugging trees – just like how you hug a friend!1. Which of the following can be explained by the “biophilia hypothesis”?A. People feel relaxed in parks.B. People like doing exercises.C. People love visiting historical sites.D. People like to live in cities.2. How might people feel with a lower hormone oxytocin?A. They might feel calm and happy.B. They might feel angry and sad.C. They might feel relaxed and scared.D. They might feel happy and sad.3. What is the right relationship between the hormone cortisol and our feelings?A. We feel sadder with a lower level of cortisol.B. We feel angrier with a lower level of cortisol.C. We feel more stressed with a higher level of cortisol.D. We feel much happier with a higher level of cortisol.4. What can we learn from the story?A. Hugs give people energy.B. The “biophilia hypothesis” is partly wrong.C. Tree-hugging is harmful to the environment.D. Hugging trees in the right way helps reduce stress.语法填空Hong Kong actor Tony Leung Chiu-wai received a very important award (奖项) – the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement (终身成就金狮奖) at the 80th Venice Film Festival On Sept 2. Laozi, a famous Chinese philosopher (哲学家)A Chinese teacher called Zhen Daqian from a high school in Beijing gave further explanation: Laozi tells us the top character is just like water. All life in the world cannot live without water, but water never asks for anything in return. It just keeps giving quietly. Also, water often stays where people don’t like, such us low-lying wetlands and deserted valleys (空旷的山谷). This kind of low profile (低调) makes water the closest to the law of the universe. It seems that we have always taken qualities like bravery and strength as great virtues, but we should not forget what water has taught us.In dealing with people, we can act as water. Do our best to help others without trying to get fame or benefit. At the same time, stay modest (谦虚的). It’s unwise to always talk about the favors you gave to others. Even if no one cares about you in a difficult situation, you need to stay calm. After all, water will not choose where to be, it just flows to where it is needed. We know that the Chinese nation has always valued Laozi’s ideas about water. In 2014, President Xi Jinping mentioned it at the welcome dinner of the 22nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Beijing. He said APEC members are brought together by the water of the Pacific Ocean and have a shared responsibility to make the Pacific an ocean of peace, friendship and cooperation (合作).1.Which of the following is not the quality of water?A.Low profiles.B.Bravery.C.Giving quietly.D.Never asking for anything in return2.What does the underlined word “disdain” mean?A.like B.hate C.enjoy D.admire3.What is the right way we should act as water in dealing with people?A.Staying proud.B.Helping others for fame and benefit.C.Staying excited in a difficult situation.D.Never talking about the favors you gave to others.4.What’s the main idea of the last paragraph?A.We Chinese nation has always valued Laozi’s ideas about water.B.The water of the Pacific Ocean is very important.C.All the APEC members should cooperate well with each other.D.All the APEC members should keep the peace of the Pacific Ocean. 5.Which of the following could be the best title for this passage?A.Laozi — A Famous Philosopher in ChinaB.Zhen Daqian—A Chinese TeacherC.Water — The Best VirtueD.Goodness — The Word and The World。

There is no doubt that technology has had abig influence on our lives. People from all around the world can now talk to each other almost at once on mobile phones and theInternet. People can easily solve their problems with the help of computers and the world wide web. With this technology, it seems that the world is more connected now than ever before. Even so, there have been worries abouttechnology making people feel lonely and disconnected from others around them.So does this mean that technology makes us lonely? In my opinion, it is hard to say Yes or No.It’s true that humans need communication with each other. If we depend on technology too much to communicate, this can badly impact our mental(心理的) health. For me, technology is a tool. And just like any other kind of tool —like scissors, a pencil or a ruler, for example, it depends on how we use it: in a right way or in a right place. Take social media (社交媒体) as an example. If you only use it to compare yourself with others, you might feel sad and lonely. Then we can use the electricity. A lot of people think that wind power is new, but that's not true. For thousands of years, people have used wind to sail boats and move water. We still do those things today, but these days we mostly use wind power to make electricity.Wind power is a very popular source of energy. Most people think that we should use it more and more. First of all, it's clean. Windmills don't pollute the environment at all. Second, we can use wind power forever. After all, we will always have wind. Also, wind power is cheap, and it's getting even cheaper.A lot of people don't understand wind power very well. They believe that there are problems with wind power, but many of those problems are not real. For example, some people say that windmills are dangerous for birds. They used to be true, but it isn't true anymore. Old windmills killed birds because they spun very fast. New windmills spin slowly, and they aren't dangerous for birds. However, there are real problems with windmills. One problem is that many people think windmills are very ugly. This is a problem for people, because windmills are often in very pretty areas. Also, wind doesn't blow all the time, so we can't use wind power all the time. Finally, windmills are noisy.Wind power is becoming more and more common. Right now, more than 80 countries use wind power. About 2.5 percent of the world's power comes from the wind. However, in adolescence (青春期) changes to the body’s sleep cycle make it difficult for teens to fall asleep early. Many cannot fall asleep until 10:30 p.m. or even later and most of them will feel sleepy if they have to get up too early.Scientists recommend that both middle and high schools begin no earlier than 8:30 a.m. Later school start times support the natural needs of teenagers and increase their sleeping time. Here are some other benefits of later school start times:More time for a healthy breakfastWhen running late in the mornings, students are likely to go without breakfast. With an empty stomach, one finds it difficult to focus (集中) in class. When they are always in a hurry, students may form unhealthy eating habits. With extra time before going to school, students can eat a well-balanced breakfast andfocus more on learning.Fewer behavioral (行为的) problemsTeens experience mood changes as a common result of this special period of life. Less sleep may cause worries, stress and unhappiness. When they get enough sleep, students are calm and peaceful and their moods do not change suddenly. They’re less likely to feel worried, unhappy or get angry. For parents, children with more sleep are easier to live with.Better performance (表现) in studySleep loss hurts attention, memory and brain development. Students with less sleep have difficulty paying attention in class and are likely to have lower grades. Students with enough sleep can be more energetic during the day and more willing to learn. They are also less likely to fall asleep in class and more able to understand what they learn. In conclusion, starting school later helps students get a better night’s sleep. These are ren, yi, li, zhi and xin. They are general virtues (美德) around the world. The most important two are ren and li.Ren is the feeling of care and love we should have for others. Confucius explained ren could best be understood as loving others. He is famous for teaching people “What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others”. It is quite similar to what is known in the West as the Golden Rule (treat others as you wish to be treated). While the meaning of ren is easy to understand, li is a little harder to express. It can be thought of as duty or even respect. Generally, li is the way we should connect with people in our everyday life. In Confucian writings, discussions about li include the proper way to drink tea and how to remember ancestors (祖先). While ren is mostly about our opinions and feelings, li is about how we express our opinions and feelings towards others and towards the world around us.Perhaps the most well-known Confucian virtue is xiao. This is the duty children have to their parents. Xiao means loving, respecting, obeying and taking care of one’s parents in their old age. In Confucianism, xiao is important for a harmonious (和谐的) society: Without it, the whole world would fall into a mess.1.Which are the most important of the Five Constants?()A.Ren and yi.B.Ren and li.C.Li and xin.D.Yi and zhi.2.What is the best Chinese for the underlined sentence in Paragraph 3?()A.博学于文,约之以礼。

Answer the questions(根据短文内容回答下列问题): ( 12分)As soon as people realize that my brother Michael, my sisterTiffany and I were born on the same day, that we’re triplets, theyask the strangest questions. But no, we can’t read each other’sminds. We don’t have the same dreams. And I can promise you that we don’t always get along. These are the things I get asked most often when people meet me for the first time.Although there are lots of good things about being a triplet, one thing I really don’t like is when p eople think of us as one person - ‘MichaelDesireeTiffany’ instead of ‘Michael’ and ‘Desiree’ and ‘Tiffany’. I don’t like it when people think we should act or think the same just because we were born at the same time, like when people ask me why I’m so shy while Michael and Tiffany are so much louder. And I definitely don’t like it when people don’t understand that we have individual (个人的) choices of what to do in our spare time.Growing up, Tiffany, Michael and I shared almost everything. It was funny how the exact moment I wanted to use the bike was the same time that Tiffany felt like going for a ride. When the three of us learned to drive at the same time, we very often fought over who got to practise with the car.My dad came up with a brilliant plan ca lled ‘turns’. One Sunday a month, each of us would have a chance to spend three hours with our dad, alone, and do whatever we wanted. For three hours every month each of us was allowed to feel like he/she was an only child. This helped me to see that being a triplet is a part of me, but it isn’t the only part of me. I don’t just want to be thought of as ‘Desiree, the girl who’s a triplet’. I want to be thought of as an individual.88. Is Desiree the only girl of the triplets?89. Answer the questions (根据短文内容回答问题):(12分)Venus (金星) has long been one of the most misunderstood planets. Like the earth, Venus has its own atmosphere. However, the atmosphere is muchthicker than that of the earth, which makes it difficult for modernscientists to study. There is much we still do not know about what thisplanet like. However, using special machines, scientists have unlockedmany of the long-hidden secrets in recent years.Venus is in many ways the earth’s sister planet. It is almost the same in size and chemistry as the earth. In other words, Venus is made up of almost the exact same types of materials as the earth, in about the same amounts. In the early days of Venus’ 4-billion-year-old life, it would have appeared very similar to the earth. The two would have been almost the same. However, over a period of a few million years ago, Venus lies much closer to the sun than our planet. It has made Venus terribly hot.Since it is closer to the sun, Venus’ temperature should be a little warmer than that of the earth. As the planet warmed, water which can be used to form oceans, lakes and rivers, evaporated(蒸发). This increase in water vapor(水蒸气)began a cycle of global warming. Water vapor is a very effective greenhouse gas. It caused the temperature to rise and more water to evaporate. The temperature then climbed still further. Today it is likely that all of Venus’s water has evaporated into the atmosphere. This atmosphere effectively keeps the sun’s energy and makes the surface to burn much hotter than it naturally would. If you happen to find a way to survive the extreme heat on the surface of Venus, you will quickly notice something strange about the days. Venus rotates(旋转) very slowly, so that a day on Venus actually lasts longer than a year. Instead of the sun rising in the east and setting in the west, the sun would appear to rise in the west and set in the east when you are on Venus.88. He was taller by nearly 1.5 inches (3.81cm) when he landed on Earth after his 340-day space missionon the International Space Station (ISS).His change in height, which lasted about two days, raisedthe question: What are the effects of a long-term stay inspace? As you probably know, there is no gravity in space. This not only causes difficulties in everyday actions like eating, walking and sleeping, but also problems for the human body. The first problem is the air. Without gravity, carbon dioxide cannot spread during breathing, but gathers around the body and causes headaches. More than that, human feelings of movement are affected, which could make people feel sick. The body’s fluids(液体) don’t work well in weightlessness, making blood flow upward instead of down to the lower legs, and astronauts’ faces become fatter than normal. Gaps between bones also become larger because humans cannot stand up straight. The spine(脊柱) can also get bigger in zero gravity. In addition, human bodies become weaker because of the lack of gravity and space to move around in. Some astronauts said that after they returned, their muscles hurt and their skin became very sensitive(敏感的). Kelly said during his first press conference, “It was almost like my body was on fire wherever I sat or lay or walked.”However, the research into the effects of long-term space flight on human bodiesand minds never stops. There are many actions that astronauts can take in space. They can take vitamin D for bone growth, wear special belts on their legs to keep blood in their lower bodies and do strength coaches’ exercises. The fans in the ISS also help spread carbon di oxide around. “We will do further research.” NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said, “I believe it will be meaningful to human-being.”88. Something occured to Kelly’s body when he finished his space mission, didn’t it?89. People may _____________, if carbon dioxide cannot spread during breathing.90. What will happen to astronauts’ faces in space?91. Why did Kelly feel burned when he was sleeping according to the text?92. What can astronauts do to keep fit in space?93.
