The story is about what Sam felt about his first boarding school life. As a child, he never left his parents, so he didn’t get used to dealing with everything in school independently.

Once I had a similar experience. I finished my junior middle school in a boarding school. At the age of 13, I never dealt with the daily things, such as washing clothes, taking care of money etc. especially I felt lonely because I hardly knew any people. At first, I could not get on well with my classmates and I always looked forward to being on holiday to meet my parents. I could not concentrate on my subjects. The book, ―Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother‖, was written by Amy Chuo, who is a Chinese

American and a professor from Yale University. Published in 2010, the Chinese version of this book began to sell in China at the beginning of 2011. In this book, she tells us the story/experience of educating her two daughters by using the Chinese traditional education mode/way, which caused the discussion on ―which is better – the Chinese traditional education way or the American education way ‖. The picture shows us a touching moment when a little girl comes to greet her working mom. Realizing her mom must be very tired after a day’s work, the girl helps to remove t he bag from her shoulder. In response, the mom kneels down to show how happy and thankful she feels.

All this reminds me of my mother who has been doing whatever she could to let me have the best. But, totally engaged in my own study, I seldom pay attention to what mother needs and feels, and always thinks studying well is the only thing I could do in return. Now I know I can do my bit to help with the everyday washing, bedroom cleaning, or at least prepare breakfast myself, so as to share mother’s daily bu rden.
