在知识方面，学生已经对课本上出现的四种主要恐龙的名称、特征和生活习性等有了总体认知；而一般过去时和动词的过去式也已经学习过，大部分学生能基本掌握；比较难的是形容词比较级的正确运用。
在认知程度上，学生的接受能力差距较大，两极分化日趋明显，所以在教学设计过程中要让不同层次的学生学有所得。
