本部分教材内容紧扣“weather”这个中心词展开话题，谈论学生最喜爱的季节、原因以及适合这个季节做的活动。
可以以此引导学生积极谈论昭通市一年四季的天气特征以及适合每个季节做的活动，从而更加贴近学生现实生活，通过谈论学生最喜爱的季节及原因，给学生提供一个学习和运用英语进行交流的平台，培养学生自主学习、独立思考的能力及合作精神，在活动中提升英语听、说、读、写的技能。
学生（学情）分析我所任教的中学留守儿童比例较高，学生英语基础知识较差，应用能力薄弱，尤其是自主学习能力亟待提高。
另外学生普遍比较羞涩内向，缺乏合作意识。
学生在时间分配、自主学习、情感态度、学习策略和文化意识方面还存在诸多需要进一步解决的问题。
例如：大量学生英语学习的目的不明确;有些同学对学好英语缺乏自信，不敢大胆用英语表达;性格内向缺乏小组合作意识;学习没有计划性和策略性;不善于发现和总結语法规律;经常忽略知识的巩固和积累。
设计理念课堂设计突出学生在探究学习中的主体地位，把课堂还给学生，通过情感鼓励、小组合作比赛、探究学习氛围的营造等方式，激励学生自始至终积极主动地参与探究学习活动并学有所成;转变教师角色，将教师角色从传统课堂的“主宰者”转变为学生学习的促进者、组织者和指导者;创新课堂管理方式，力争做到“放”而有“度”，“活”而不“乱”，最大限度发挥学生的主观能动性，活跃课堂气氛，提高课堂教学效率。
