We're starting today in Japan at the damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.
Engineers are trying to figure out just how much the recent earthquake and tsunami
damaged the plant's nuclear reactors, and what that might mean for the area around
those reactors. Yesterday, a government official said one of the reactors might be leaking
radioactive material. Tests on seawater showed some signs of contamination as well,
about 360 miles out into the Pacific Ocean. And tests have shown small amounts of
plutonium in the soil at different spots around the power plant, though the company that
owns the plant says the plutonium is not a harmful amount.
Parts of Japan were shaken by another earthquake, though; this one hit on Monday.
Wasn't nearly as strong as the quake from two weeks ago. But it did happen in the same

out of this world. At least it's trying to get there. First up, we headed to Japan.
Officials are talking about sort of victory for workers at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power
plant. The damaged one we've been talking about. Engineers have been fighting for nearly four
weeks to keep the plant's nuclear reactors from overheating. But they ran into another problem
when radioactive water started leaking out into the ocean. Here, you can see the leak and the water
flowing out of it.
That's the 'before' shot. Here's the 'after', no more leak. Workers were able to seal it up yesterday

First up, a brain drain. It`s when
trained professionals or scientists or professors leave a country and search better
opportunities elsewhere. China`s "People`s Daily Newspaper" said last year that China has the world`s worst brain drain.
In 2013, 8.5 million Chinese were living abroad, but only about 850,000 people had moved to China. Reasons for the
exodus include wealth. People don`t think China`s financial system is stable enough to protect their money. Another
reason, getting a foreign education brings a bit of status. And, of course, you have infamous pollution in some Chinese

92 arrested in northern Nigeria after
recent religious violence

Jos, Nigeria (CNN) -- Nigerian authorities on Friday arrested 92 people allegedly
affiliated with a militant Islamist group that the government says is responsible for a string
of recent killings in the country's northeast.
Police blame the group, Boko Haram, for attacks Wednesday that left three police officers
and one civilian dead in Maiduguru and for Christmas Eve attacks on two Christian
churches in the city that left five dead.
Borno state Police Commissioner Mohammed Abubakar said those arrested were
"members of a dangerous religious fundamentalist group... (that) is anti-government."
Maiduguru is the capital of Nigeria's Borno state.
According to IHS Jane's, a defense and security analysis company, Boko Haram is a

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on Thursday ordered 90 more helicopters for rescue
missions in Sichuan province, adding urgency to the massive relief operations under
way since Monday's devastating earthquake in southwest China.
As mudslides, debris and fallen rocks blocked rescuers and aid workers from
China's quake-hit areas, Wen ordered 90 more helicopters to the region, Xinhua
reported.
Since the 7.9-magnitude quake struck Monday, China has dispatched 20 choppers for
dropping food and water, transporting the injured and delivering rescuers, Xinhua
reported. Thursday's order brings the total to 110.
Rescuers continued their attempts to save those trapped beneath the rubble at
schools, businesses and homes.
